inlesco 234 Posted January 3, 2016 This is a rather, I assume, rare complaint, but since Arma 2 the series has been missing a pretty simple thing that adds to the immersion - subtitles centered in the bottom part of the screen. Why were they removed when it comes to character chat / story-related content, I have no idea. The good old OFP has it done properly - the subtitles were crisp, font size big enough and readable. Zero issues. Now, as an avid Arma SP player (I belong to an endangered species, right? :D), I have it when character lines are stuffed into the radio chatter. You learn to live with it, but it can always be made better. Right, BIS? Here's an awesome article on how to do great subs: http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/IanHamilton/20150715/248571/
semiconductor 309 Posted January 3, 2016 They aren't really missing, the titleText["Hello", "PLAIN DOWN", 1] command is still there but for some reason nobody wants to use it. Probably because you should take into account the time each sentence remains on the screen.
nettrucker 144 Posted January 5, 2016 Yeah why the hell Bi removed the text possibilities of triggers and way points is beyond my understanding. I used a lot game logics to display text and radio messages which is not possible anymore. Really I don't know why they removed that. If it's not broken just leave it. But no way they had to remove it and I really would like to know why they removed it. cheers
