F-15 is last update of "road to jet dlc" project(well, now road to malden?), and here's fresh news about F-15

armament display for F-15C/D , working IR sensor enable/disable with LEGION pod / F-15J IRST

it's nothing new. just armament display for F-15C/D.

F-15E have armament display(aka SMS), TGP screen and etc.

LEGION IRST Pod 

in game, basic F-15 is have only two sensors - Active Radar and Passive radar(RWR).

but with LEGION pod, F-15 can search&track the enemy with wide range IR sensor, no need turn on the Radar.

let's see the how to work.

without LEGION pod

in radar panel, radar is "off" and you can see no enemy in sensor panel. because no have any IR/Visual Sensor for F-15.

so, we can see the enemy in sensor panel even radar is turn off because search&track with IR sensor.

 

when radar off, you can't use the radar guided missile such as AMRAAM, but can use the IR guided missile like sidewinder.

F-15J IRST version have own IRST sensor, so no LEGION Pod required. you can see IR sensor range(red) in sensor panel

anyway, here is news..about F-15E's Armament Control Switch.

 

pilot can control AA/AG weapon when start. its standard.(for SP. WSO is not a primary gunner. so can't use the weapon due to limitation.)

when press the "switch armament control" button, WSO will take over the all AG weapon control. AA weapon is Pilot only.

so you can see WSO can select the GBU-12. and press again, Pilot take over the bombs.

After being here for 9 months, it's about time I start understanding it...lol

 

I do have more questions about pods/weapons integration though. Similar how the AMRAAM requires the LEGION Pod(on specific model); how would people react to having only specific munitions work with certain pods? I think it would require pilots to have to not only actually choose the appropriate pod per mission type, but also the appropriate air frame that can carry that pod.

 

I don't know, I'm just tossing that up for thought. Not sure if it would actually improve the flight experience with your mod, or just decrease it's value.

AMRAAM is Active Radar homing missile, so doesn't need the LEGION pod but must need to turn on the Radar of aircraft.

IRST(Infra-red search and track) is only for search and track the target, so no any affect for missile guide.

however, sidewinder is doesn't matter of radar is on or LEGION pod equipped. because sidewinder has own IR Seeker, so just press RMB for lock on even radar turn off or no IRST pod situation.

equip or not is totally player's decision with various situation.

Yeah, I assume there isn't some kind of autotrim function? It keeps diving down real fast at almost any speed.

F-15 is working on schedule, except just BIS throw to me that. if did you see other my aircraft change log, you'll realize that was already fixed. so just sit back and wait for update.

- three new skin : F-15C - 67th FS / F-15E - 336th FS / F-15J - 306th TFS
- Script maintenance
* ACS is currently experimental system. here's some limitations 
  - WSO AI can't use weapon.(due to limitation of turret system)
  - in MP, sometime WSO failed to guide the LGB(possible recent LGB issue)

however, other guidance weapon such as AGM-65, JDAM is working fine.

Hey Firewill, massive congratulations on the release! I've been looking forward to it for a long time and I can't wait to try out some multiplayer bombing action.

 

Just a little question I have, does the Strike Eagle have the rear display that the F-16D does? I know on the D it is dependent upon which TGP you have on the plane, was wondering if that is the case with the F-15 or if it just doesn't have one at all. Not a complaint or a request, I just want to know all about the plane in terms of its gameplay :)

 

Thanks for all your hard work, I'm gonna' go fly around Malden and blow up houses now.
