I appreciate the offer for help with skinning the vests but that's not what I'm dreading.  Skinning the vests will be easy compare to adding all the pouches to each different vest and then writing each different config class for them.

Anybody have any pics of my boys on Tanoa?

yeah and don't forget the fun part of adjusting the weighting every time you make a slight adjustment to a pouch location.....

you need a hand, troubleshooting, or just someone to chat with find me on dischord, skype, or here.....

Awesome pictures guys!  Makes me want to knuckle up and continue work. *cracks knuckles*

I see the camo is actually very effective in the jungle.

All the gear on the belt is just a solid weight.  The only thing that's blended is the radio cord.

There will be versions with radios.

You want some war photos, i'll give you some war photos, and a story to go with it

1987 Horizon Islands Intervention (Operation Marseilles)

After nearly a hundred years of French rule (and several communist insurrections), the 1986 Horizon independence referendum overwhelmingly passed, granting the Horizon Islands full sovereignty. The French government would remain in power pending elections next year for a new government and constitution. Unfortunately, some criminal elements saw this period of vulnerability as an opportunity to buy out the recently-created Horizon Armed Forces while in its infancy to create a permanent civil war, allowing them to grow their illegal drugs without consequence. The Army officially announced their Coup on new years day 1987. However, they didn't count on the recently-thawed French-American relations following Operation Flashpoint. The US organized a "stabilizing force" to go along with the French 1st Marines, the aircraft carrier Clemenchau and the GIGN evacuating force, composed of the 12th MEU aboard the USS Nassau and brand-spankin new USS Germantown, 1 Battalion, 75th Rangers, and 1 Squadron, Combat Applications Group (AKA Delta Force) and their attached SOAR forces. After GIGN and Delta evacuate the government building and embassy, C-141s carrying the Rangers take off from New Guinea, and the Franco-American task force's escorts start making a big-ass hole in the coastal defenses around the main island, and the Clemenchau deploys almost its entire air wing to destroy SAM sites, coastal artillery, and provide cover while the Commandos Marine secure the airfields and their Mirage IIIs. At 0900, the Germantown, Nassau, Ouragan, and Ourage deploy their helicopters and landing craft for an opposed amphibious landing (the first since World War II), the Rangers begin to make their jumps over the east and west islands where support for the enemy is greatest, but their equipment is weakest, supported by Delta Force embarked aboard the Nassau. After seizing the beaches, radio towers, and key villages across the islands, and the superb display of close-in naval air power (the Super Etendards' twin 30s were particularly effective), the civilians rally to the NATO forces and any further resistance is quickly quelled. The US Marines and Rangers depart, leaving the French Marines to oversee elections on time.

1998 Tanoan Insurrection

In the wake of the 1987 civil war, the Horizon armed forces were reorganized into a self defense force along the lines of Japan. This neutering of the army did not sit well with a small number of Colonels and Brigadiers, who begin to plot a coup. Some of the first group are caught and executed in 1991, forcing the remaining members underground and delaying their plans. In 1998 however, the coup forces seize Georgetown and the Horizon Parliament and declare Tanoa's secession from the rest of the Horizon Islands. At the request of the Horizon embassy in Washington, the US sends the 3rd Ranger Battalion to defeat the insurrectionists. After another forcible entry by parachute, the Rangers quickly find that the civilians have been suppressed and abused by the coup powers, and have already begun forming their own militias to fight back. With the help of these militias, the coup is thwarted quickly and coup forces captured or killed. The self-defense forces are again reorganized, this time into a Gendarmerie, where all military equipment is stored piecemeal in several bases throughout the Islands as a method of deterring further coups, and the USMC establishes a permanent rotation of forces to deter outside aggression.

The reference you talked about does it have to do anything with the US troops in Iraq with the wrong camouflage?

Yup, US Marines being issued with woodland MOPPs. I was more referring to a TV show about the initial invasion, so you don't get your points yet

Deltahawk have you ever considered to make a "swimsuit" based on your uniforms?
I don't think it will take you much time doing it ( fins and a carabiner are quick to make ) , it will be a great addition!

You dont even need to make many variation:
- woodland (non rolled sleeves , no blouse in boots ) + LBE ( rifleman + pistol ?) + boonie

- woodland (non rolled sleeves , no blouse in boots ) + LBV ( rifleman + pistol ?)+ boonie

- DCU (non rolled sleeves , no blouse in boots ) + LBE ( rifleman + pistol ?)+ boonie

- DCU (non rolled sleeves , no blouse in boots ) + LBV ( rifleman + pistol ?)+ boonie

other camos and headgear were difficult to see ( maybe Chocolate Chip ? maybe granadier and machine gun vest? ).
I dont even know if is it possible to command via proxies vest and headgear ( vanilla swimsuit can't handle them ).

Rebreather and mask can be vanilla.

I can make a swim suit but for now ya'll would have to be happy with bloused boots.  Dummy me didn't think about making the trousers unbloused when I originally made them.  To go back and try to make them unbloused isn't worth it right now because I have other stuff to do.

Usually Seals have trousers unbloused ( maybe for drain water better? ) but I don't think it's mandatory for underwater ops...

As you can see in the second pic I post , Green Berets used bloused boots without problem.

Yes, it's so the trouser will drain.  Bloused boots will hold water like water balloons.  In fact they do so well Marines going through HAB-D training and boot camp learn how to make life preservers out of their trousers.  For some like Army and Marines it's against uniform regulations to unblouse their boots but obviously situation will dictate.

I think for functionality's sake the bloused boots could be excused, at least for now. Of course, the authenticity gods would not be pleased, but eh, given how pleased they are with the rest of your work...

For the past few months I have been mentioning new BDUs but have shown nothing.  To be honest I'm reluctant to show much for certain reasons but I find myself in a position where some how, some way, I will release my new BDUs.  These BDUs will be nothing like my previous release.  There will be many different camo patterns and BDU variants.  Together with other mods like CUP, RHS .etc the possibilities are endless.  Here is just a small glimpse into what I am creating.
