Transparent textures

Recommended Posts

I use tga-pics with alpha-channel for my transparent textures (e.g. fences, vent holes around muzzle). But, in OFP the borders of the transparent area are brighter than the border colour -even if you are looking at a dark area behind the texture! Why?

I tried a smooth transition in the alpha channel, but that made it even worse.

A change of the lightning-property (normal->reversed) has no effect.

Where's the error? Or is this a bug?

I got the same problem. Seems there's something to do with paa compression. can't see a solution for it yet though.

Use TexView to convert them instead. O2 is known to do strange stuff to textures.

Hm, my 512x256 texture is messed up by TexView!? The result looks like good old ega -it seems that the depth is reduced...

Could some kind soul point me to a tutorial on creating textures with an alpha channel in Adobe Photoshop?

(Please not an OFPEC link - I was banned there, thank god.)

It's about squad logos, but the principle should apply smile.gif

Have got the same problem with some texture, edited with Photshop and converted with Texview.

The problem for me was I have a alpha channel on all the pic but I saw that after a copy and past twice for my texture, it's more colored after that in photoshop.

I try it and for me that should work.

I hope it's good for you.
