raptoer 66 Posted April 3, 2016 does this have support for rhs units? Yes and no. As far as I can remember the base ASR_AI has fancy skill settings that take modded units into account. The enhancements I have made do care what unit you are, however most modded units should be extending the units I modify (SoldierWB, SoldierEB, and SoldierGB). If they do not and instead extend the base class of CAManBase then my changes will not be applied (neither would most of base ASR_AI's changes). I know you've been essentially doing this as a community service since the mod no longer serves a direct purpose for your group. Ok, I was just wondering because the original ASR_AI3 had some unit compatibility files that you needed if you were using other units instead of vanilla arma 3 ones Far as I have read and can recall, Robalo made the RHS compatibility files to adjust AI firing ranges, MG firing rates, and muzzle classes for purposes of AI using smoke and suppression fire. If you are using RHS 4.0.1 and ASR AI 9.28.1, then you'll need the latest updated ASR AI / RHS compatibility 4.0.1 files (available on Armaholic) in order to avoid at least an obvious problem of no sound for PKM weapon fire (at least, that was the only apparent problem I had with vanilla, RHS, and ASR AI loaded). Not so sure about less obvious impacts on AI weapon handling. Acc. to Robalo, the skill settings and modded unit classes go a ways towards recognizing and using different units correctly, but the compatibility patches are still an effective way to really tailor the ASR AI package specifically for large/important mods.Raptoer's changes don't sound like they alter or address Robalo's compat patch purposes. 'Scool, not like I've got skin in that game. :D You just weren't benefiting from RHS units making the most use of their tools, I think. Once you apply the patches, you may see a difference in RHS machine gunners using their PKMs to suppress more, maybe? And maybe a difference in how much AI use smoke? I really don't know -- just going off the various mod descriptions and making a best guess. Could anybody state whether the AI under this mod have the ability to be suppressed? It seems like they do, but I was wondering if I'm reading the mod's description correctly? Not b/c of the mod. Most mods now rely on the native Arma 3 engine for AI suppression, ever since they added that in (e.g. TPW deprecated his suppression behavior when the native feature was released), I think. Addons 2. pe_asrai3-0.2.1-0.9.28 Is it okay if the contend of these folders are only deployed on the server ? Do i also need the "asr_ai3_rhs_c.pbo" for Pooter's enhanced ASR AI in conjunction with RHS Mod ? Clients only need the mod if they're going to be commanding AI. AI on the enemy team or not lead by a player are handled by the server. userconfig on the clients is only needed if you're running the mods on the clients. asr_ai3_rhs_c.pbo is needed if you want the full effect of ASR_AI when running RHS. While it is not strictly necessary for PE_ASR_AI it does handle a fair number of things. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

HeroesandvillainsOS 1504 Posted April 25, 2016 Is anyone having an issue with some AI units not returning to formation? Let's say I have a squad of 7 AI, occasionally 3-4 of them will suddenly stop following the return to formation order. I can compell them to get down/go stealth/etc and sometimes even make them move to a specific spot, but they will not return to formation (meaning they won't follow me) and when I tell them to get in a vehicle, I get "cannot comply." Using ALiVE, I've used the commander tablet to teleport these units to a new location. When I ask them to return to formation, they'll run to the spot I teleported them from and just stand there like they've been hard coded to stay on that exact spot. I haven't tried with vanilla AI yet, so just putting a feeler out if anyone has ever seen this. This is the last AI mod I've yet to remove to test. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'm assuming you're asking if base ASR handles counterattacks and the answer is that it depends a lot on what waypoints the AI are set to have. If AI are set to have no waypoints then they will tend to sit in their current positions until the end of time. This mod adds Search & Destroy waypoints when AI detect danger and decide to react to it. What I really want to do next is add finer control over stance so that AI will actually try to go down when under fire, far too often I see AI simply standing while getting shot at until they die. But that is a giant can of worms I'm not sure I want to get into. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

taro8 806 Posted May 21, 2016 Word of advice: I discovered an issue between AI skills and UAV's and remotely controlled units (like when you use Zeus remote control). UAV and remotely controlled units (at least one in vehicles) are affected by aimingspeed AI skill, to the point if you put a number like 0.005 you can barely move the camera on UAV's. Did quite a lot of testing and its definitely aimingspeed. This is more of an issue with ARMA, but it should be taken into consideration. Maybe some script that sets all AI skill to 1 for the duration of the remote control. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
