-filePatching StartUp Parameter...

Recommended Posts

Hello all.. I have a question about the "-filePatching" start up parameter.

I know a recent change in arma means that the user config and other unpacked information is handeled by "file patching." via "-noFilePatching", or "-filePatching" in the parm's...

I have had my server provider add the "-filePatching"
param to my server.

when i try to join with my client i get an error message that says the server your trying to join doesnt allow file patching... but we added it to the startup params '...

am i NOT suppose to be able to join servers with -filepatching...

is it a security setting issue?? i read a post by Terox stating on how to get it working but im not sure if i need to?!

anmyone have any insight.??

honestly i just want to be sure all the mods are able to load all their info.. and i know some of my server mods use the userconfig folder.. and from what i read that is covered by the -filePatching settings... maybe im not understanding it correctly.

Again, if anyone has any insight on how to get a client to connect with -filepatching enabled that would be great

You also need to add a line in the server.cfg, maybe they forgot to do that.

  1. server commandline parameter: -filepatching
  2. servercfg entry:  allowedFilePatching = 1;
