Dont forget assets. just sayin. But I dont know what that really has to do with anything in general. But what do i know. Heres a random thought. Unity is making alot of sense right now.

Snow and Biotopes are easily doable in A3, Biotopes is pretty much pure scripting and there were community made systems in A2 that worked close to it.

what was the mod called that replicates the effect of biotopes?

Biotopes would be amazing in A3 add even more immersion to the most immersive military games I've played.

In A2 it was DAC that did a lot of similar features.

This can look great in ArmA !

That seems similar to the US Army Training Brain Operations Center's version of the M104 Wolverine for VBS2 v1.5, albeit besides the higher visual fidelity and UI revamp (a given) the only major difference I'm seeing is the ability to specify bridge length/size.

Like what? Snow? Underground structures? Bridge construction? I don't see how DayZ would benefit from any of those.

French Army is playing VBS2 (Eurosatory 2014) :o

i ran into a tactical training simulation presentation by the french ministry of defense and took a few pics,

i didn't stay that long because there was too much of blahblah and then a simulated combat operation, i saw 'VBS2' logo on that big display screen.. :cool:

during some action , i have noticed the common visual bugs (delayed explosion of armored vehicles) and also poor driving physics, it did totally look ARMA I :D

then it looked boring and i left ..

so, whats the difference Arma II vs VBS 2.0 ? the instructor / command operational modules to run a big game over LAN?

what are those Quantum 3d backpacks ?

why wouldn't they upgrade to the new engine from arma3 ; lol

Yeah, VBS 3 has a bunch of advanced stuff in it too, I saw some video (voice by Dyslexci) from the BISIM youtube channel about rendering distance improvements, somthing like they can render many objects vs VBS 2 with less lag, and it showed some demonstration of it, with VBS 3 being less laggy then VBS 2.

I dont know if they just use the same objects or what, but it looked like the video was made on Takistan.

They used the map that looked like Takistan (at least the objects and textures did) to demonstrate procedural foliage generation with modules and stuff, which actually seems like somthing that would be possible with ArmA 3, that would be pretty cool wouldn't it.

That does not mean it looks like Arma 2 ;) (from my experience it looks in between Armed Assault and Arma 2)

In VBS2 2.0 we still have the Armed assault soldier animation... + a few new well made animation for divers and paratroopers.

Actually, the Type 45 simulation looks to simply be a graphical-fidelity upgrade of what BISim has already pulled off with the Type 45 back in VBS2... which was quite impressive (not least "compared to Arma").

VBS = based on Operation Flashpoint

VBS 2 = based on ArmA 1

VBS 3 = based on ArmA 2 (begin to be implemented in the armies...)

Always with more functionalities than the ones available in the civilian version (ArmA).

Slightly more complicated then that.

VBS1 = RV1

VBS2 = RV2

VBS2 2.0 = RV3 (kind of)

VBS3 = RV4 (kind of)

OFP = RV1

A1 = RV2

A2 = RV3

A3 = RV4
