purepassion 22 Posted November 29, 2011 New website: looking really good gentlemen! Still some small problems here and there but overall very nice! I like how VBS and Arma are getting closer and closer and I hope both titles can benefit from it! :)
4 IN 1 0 Posted November 29, 2011 I can see it now. VBS2 2.0 being distributed pre-installed on a 500gb+ eSATA external drive. Now if BI can make a deal with some SSD manufacturer to make a package to show case how much better SSD runs RV engine game is:p

purepassion 22 Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) Looks absolutely stunning. There is even going to be an modelled interior :) here is another awesome shot note that this was not rendered in VBS2, whereas the other shots were in fact rendered in VSB2 :) Edited December 1, 2011 by PurePassion new released picture of the LHD

Dwarden 1125 Posted December 1, 2011 I can see it now. VBS2 2.0 being distributed pre-installed on a 500gb+ eSATA external drive. so for next generation engine, we need to be distribued on at least 200GB SSD eSATAp/USB3 ready drive ... or maybe directly use PCIexpress 1x card? :) :D
NZXSHADOWS 0 Posted December 2, 2011 Guess its a silly idea. But could be an optional package, then you would have to warranty the drive an all that mess. an in reality your going to need some tech support so that idea is shot to shit. DVD's YaY!!!

noubernou 77 Posted December 2, 2011 Not that impressive when you know that is all stock Arma 2 and Arma 3 footage. Show me some tech from VBS2 inside RV3. Then I will be impressed. :)
purepassion 22 Posted December 2, 2011 They are praying to something awesome they have never seen, has been illustrated with things they already know and are convinced of it will become reality :D I look forward to the awesome terrains, units and functionality and praise the recent decisions, so to say ^^
DaveP 66 Posted December 2, 2011 Funny to see them on one hand say they don't need RV3 as it would mean more requirements for content creation and have little pay-off, on the other pushing it as the next advance
sparks50 0 Posted December 3, 2011 I was thinking about that too. Perhaps the Cryengine Sim has made them shift priorities?
noubernou 77 Posted December 3, 2011 I was thinking about that too. Perhaps the Cryengine Sim has made them shift priorities? I don't think so really. RV3 has been planned for a long time and its a logical progression. I am more interested in what is going to happen in regards to tech from RV4 going in to VBS2. For example TKOH and A3 are going to have new scripting technology apparently and I wonder how quickly that will be seen in VBS, where it would be a major boon to serious development groups. It used to be fairly clear cut, one feeding in to the other, but now its really starting to get all sorts of tangled up. Both games feeding in to each other. It is an interesting time to be doing content development for both of them. :)
purepassion 22 Posted December 6, 2011 The Netherlands have joined us as VBS2 Enterprise Licence holders. We look forward to continuing our excellent relationship and at the exciting developments and uses that they have planned for VBS2.
Pyronick 21 Posted December 7, 2011 I recognize the Marnehuizen urban training facility. Maybe I should transfer myself to OTC training center so I can be VBS2 instructor... :D
