Posible Campaign set just after ArmA1:QG

Hi everyone, I've been thinking for a while now of making a campaign of sorts (Don't expect much I'm not the best mission maker in the world) set after the events of the Royal Flush campaign for ArmA1. 2007/2008

And basically It seems the agreed ending is Queen Isabella is still in power and the Prince is dead and the Black Element team are on the run.

So my first thoughts have been to play as the RACS, in returning order to Sahrani as I think I'm right in thinking that with this ending the Prince has made his TV announcement and there have been a lot of public demonstrations in support of him just before his death.

So I imagine there will a sort of insurgency with the fighting in the north spreading southward towards say the oil fields, the airport and palace ect

I've also had thoughts of incorporating icebreakers Isla Duala late on in the campaign into this.

As its in the Atlantic ocean (same as Sahrani)

Molatia could possibly be hiding rebel leaders and or even supplying weapons. As from the short history icebreaker wrote for the island, the civil war will have ended in 2005 and the boarders arnt fully under control till 2009. So maybe there are quite a lot of surplus weapons that can be smuggled out and sold to the rebels back in Sahrani.

So in this case RACS commandos would be sent to track down the hiding rebels and destroy and ships smuggling weapons to Sahrani. which might even escalate into a bigger conflict, who knows

Anyway I'm just after a few suggestions, as this story could also be told from the other side with the rebels killing/capturing the queen and installing a democracy.

The mods I plan on using are:

Leights OPFOR pack (as it has RACS troops in it)

Killochs MultiNational Pack & SmillsUniformPack (for rebel uniforms and a Woodland uniform to use for the RACS Im thinking DPM or maybe the US M81 woodland camo)

Then RHS Escalations (for vehicles and because Leights OPFOR requires it)

HLC mods (for weapons for the rebels and a few for the RACS)

Then for the island I'm going to mostly be using SMD Sahrani and occasionaly AIA United Sahrani

Anyway any thoughts on this will be much appreciated, as i want to try and make it a decentish story although it will most likely be without voice acting except for parts where I'll try and make use of voice clips from the ArmA series.

Story

The campaign starts on the 02/11/2006 the day after the death of Prince Orlando.

The public hear of his death in the morning news, supporters of the Prince take to the streets all across the kingdom, and call for Queen Isabella to abdicate. The queen makes a public address, claiming that the Prince had always been an SLA sympathizer, and had in fact made an attempt on her life, but seems to have little effect on the protesters.

The protests reach their height around midday and the Queen declares martial law and orders the RACS to step in and return order to the streets.

Your unit based in Dolores is sent to Ortego to assist the Royal Police in dispersing the rioters.

AWESOME idea! I haven´t played through QG (stopped at the middle, kinda) but loved the new mechanics (you had to ressuply your PC units, the side missions etc) and your initial idea is great, the campaign could be overall an insurgency build up (with the Black element doing some sabotage and training/organizing the rebels) but also a RACS unit rebelling against the Queen after discovering about her conspiracy and going rogue to afterwards helping the PMCs and Rebels to topple the tirants adn installing a democracy there!

So my suggestion would be: mix the missions between PMCs and RACS unit that´s going to go rogue, like - first mission the Black element escaping Isabella´s units on pursuit and stabilishing a rebel HQ, then second mission is a presentation of the RACS squad and they leaving base for a counter-insurgency tasks, third mission could be BE PMCs ambushing some other RACS troops and stealing ammo/equipment, then forth mission the playable RACS bust an insurgency safe haven but discovers unsetling intel about the queen - after some discussion, a Queen´s death squad/black ops unit gets there to sanitize the place and eliminate that intel (which they thought couldn´t be discovered by the RACS) and a fight between those regular troops and spec ops breaks in and the remaining soldiers decide to go rogue cus they´re blacklisted on queens affairs!

On some point BE and rogue RACS could team up and go to Duala to gather heavy weaponry/jets and then the rest of the campaign could be the coup d´etat itself =)

If you need some playtest, count on me, I´ve helped many mission/campaign makers and I support your endeavor =D

I like the idea of the rouge RACS unit I'll certainly put that in. I've made a start on the first few missions (Ones almost finished :) ), where the RACS are very much on the defensive and occasionally trying to hunt down the insurgents. So there will be quite a few missions fighting the insurgents until there is a switch.

I´ve been re-watching (for the fifth time maybe) Generation Kill and I´d love to see a GK campaign someday... A2 had the units modded, and 1 or 2 recraiton missions, but not a whole campaign... anyways, this QG sequel is surely a nostalgia-candy for everybody, and every new campaign counts (many guys create nice campaigns on single mission/coop MP separetly form... they all should be converted to proper campaigns, for continuity sake lol) ;D

Yeh GK would be pretty cool to see one day. One of the reasons I wanted to make this campaign is for the nostalgia value, I had so many good moments playing on Sahrani usually on the evo/domination maps oh and Sahrani life so i know the north like the back of my hand lol

I was originally just gonna do this as a series of coop maps but I've had a look at how you set up a campaign had it doesn't seem all that tricky on the face of it
