sorry.. i should have been more specific... is it the steam version or downloaded from another source.

I can run the code thru the map if you want to get the classnames

just want to know what version and the source of the download so i work off same one

you can add this to your init.sqf

 

and it should work

i tested it and it looks like some buildings may not have building positions configured... but for the most part you will get loot in a number of buildings

 

I noticed the skybox is still dark from the lighting update... has that not been fixed yet??

It has been fixed, but you have todownlaod another pbo and toss it in the addons. IDK why it wasn't just put in there to begin with, but yeah.

Try to add a little delay :

waitUntil {!isNil "Building_list"};
sleep 1;

Otherwise one of the modules interacting with the building lists might interfere.

 

EDIT : also, the quickest way to check if the script works (rather than going lootin') is to execute this from the debug console, a few seconds after mission start :

hint str Building_list;
copyToClipBoard str Building_list;//you can then paste the list in any text editor

I am also working on a script with a buddy to make an infection state that happens randomly when a zombie hits you. There would be a % chance of being infected which would lead to a slow trickle of health. I'm hoping to write in some kind of antibiotics to slow or maybe even 'cure it'. I'll toss it up here if we manage to get it working. He's using making it as a way to teach me more about scripting and modding things in arma so that I might be a bit more help in the community haha.

It worked ok for me... make sure enough have the loot module and equipment module on the map... it can take up to 30 seconds for the loot to spawn... and some buildings lime the aus post one don't seem to have building positions... or if they do... I have bad luck with those...

Yeah, hmm, even with the sleep same issue. I did the thing Haleks suggested and it seems as if the buildings are being included for whatever reason. I'll do a paste bin of my ini file. Maybe I messed something up

Looks like a few things getting loaded there... possibly try moving the code around in the init or create a new sqf and execvm it at end of init.

Hi there, could you possibly share this mission file or point me where to get it. Iv not been able to loot any trashpiles ect so wondering how to do that, i have -1000 scripting/coding talent lol.

The loot pile searching is coming in the next update Haleks is working on I believe. It's a neat feature. Adds a lot.

As for Edn. I haven't messed with it in awhile.

It has a few errors but does work from what I can tell.

Hello Haleks,cosmic,hows things lads?

 

I took a well need break from Arma3,deleted my buggy as hell game probably due to over modding and not using seperate mod folders,reinstalled.....

 

lesson learned... and just came back to this Arma universe.

After landing on the Arma planet,i was unsure of where to begin,but alas....I recalled my fondest memories from my last Arma endevours,which came from this mod :)

 

so my first mod(cba withstanding) to download was ravage.I believe my last run through this mod was six months ago,i just wanted to check in and ask whats new,and how is the mod progressing n how u guys doing?

 

...It just feels good to be back :)

Welcome back redarmy, and thanks for the nice words!

 

In six months, I'd say few has changed, much has been added. ;)

On top of my head : improved Zeus support, added support for the Apex DLC, as well as a few other mods, new items, new caching system for vehicles, fixes for MP, more options for a bunch of modules, traders...

But frankly, I don't even remember what version it was six months ago, haha. ^^

Maybe it wasnt even six months back,it was around the time that an update fudged up my sky box and i was unable to accept being stranded on Altis LoL

 

Im reading your change log in any case haleks,looks great!!

 

I had some serious issues with Arma and could not enjoy this mod in its fullest,but that will be rectified now with a reinstall hopefully.

I did have one question regarding weapons that are compatible for this mod(is there a list?)  i couldnt find info anywhere in the wiki,i know it mentioned RHS in the past,but,is there a way for me to create an init sqf file to include custom weapons from various mods?And if so,is there a way for a detailed tutorial to be layed out?I was never too bright with scripting in Arma3,and to boot,im shaking off cobwebs just returning to this game.

 

Im optimily aiming to add classic weapons such as ppsh,lee enfields,bolt actions etc(older variants) trying to avoid a "military feeling" if ya get my drift.I have not booted up Arma yet,just reinstalled,added some basic mods and ravage for maximum compatibility,and hope to create some nice persistent custom missions with your modules tomorrow.

 

Looing forward to seeing some of Ravages new features tomorrow and mowing down entities that 1)dont shoot back  2)ragdoll nicely while running at you 3)sound more convincing in their intent than military units  :lol:         :coop:

What MODS do people prefer to use when playing Ravage? I recently started finally using LUTS by Solano, now that the Real Light 7 Mod has changed the way you implement the mods. However, LUTS only looks good on certain maps. I tried to use it on the Napf map recently it was a really bad match. I'm planning my next youtube "ravage" series video soon, and I'm always looking for unique mods that work well with Ravage. I might wait until the next update though. The implementation of searching for loot in cabinets sounds very appealing.

 

I continue to find new and awesome mods to use while playing Arma 3. If you have suggestions, I would love to hear them.

And on that note, Haleks, how do you go about adding extra stuff like uniforms, vests, headgear and backpacks with the same method? I tried a few things but didn't get it to work. And about attachments for the weapons? Because with the method explained in the posts above if I added suppressors, for example, the A.I. would end with them in their inventory (sometimes more than one) instead of the weapon itself.

The thing is a bit more complicated for the loot system (a lot of multi-dimensional arrays); I'm thinking I could tweak the incoming "search loot" system so it uses the AI gear list rather than the one from the loot spawn system - it could be a good way to offer more control to mission makers until I re-work the loot code a bit...

 

EDIT : unlike what the name suggests, rvg_LMG is actually an array for all kinds of high grade and rare weapons.
