AI soldiers seem to have amazing ability to see over a crest and through bushes

Recommended Posts

I am now testing a scenario I have been working on. The terrain at the south east of the island is rolling countryside. Very few hills.

Me and my squad approach the crest of a minor slope. On the other side it is another minor slope. My soldiers seem to spot the enemy through the crest!

I stand up straight and raise my range finder and cannot see any enemy.

I then press the "." on the numb pad. I am now 10 meters in the air above by character.

I can confirm the enemy are on the other side of the crest. Also they are behind bushes and should not be seen by my soldiers.

Am I doing something wrong? My soldiers X-Ray vision is spoiling it a bit.

They have heard the enemy.

If not, try the ASR AI3 mod.

Considering that the player model and the AI models are the same ingame, as domokun had suggested your Ai probably heard the enemy somehow,

idk what they would have heard if the enemy wern't movign, maybe their radio? or did someone rip ass at the same time you got there, i mean i do agree

it sounds farfetched or somewhat irritating but we need to know what exactly happened, and what is your AI's capacity over your own abilities to detect the enemy.

Imo i think the AI should be just like the player if you cant see the enemy then unless their in a different spot and or have a difference visual then you of the

other side of the crest then their should be no way for them to know.

From My AI compilation list (link in my sig)

So, AI can still see through completely obscuring grass and shoot at the player.
