Unit SFX - Body fall sounds & hit screams
A small mod

 

Have fun ;)

Features
- Adds body fall sounds.
- Adds screams when a unit is hit.
- Uses vanilla sounds that are already present in the game (but not implemented).

Usage
This mod runs completely client-side.
Does not need to be run on servers.

I wish now we could get something like Red Orchestra 2 screams, that actually is somewhat successful in making you feel for that generic soldier when they die.

I originally included those, but felt it might be too extreme for some. Maybe I'm wrong?

Great mod, it might seem subtle but the impact on gameplay is big. I hope in the future BIS can take notice from this.

Don't make RO2 screams part of the mod, they are indeed too extreme. If anything make them optional.

Any chance you can do a script version of this so we can include it in missions instead of downloading an addon on the client?

I was just watching some Dayz videos and wishing A3 had unit sounds like screams etc,then i see this!Good work mate!Could I suggest making the scream slightly louder or longer?just so it is a little more noticeable in the middle of a gunfight. Thanks again!

Unfortunately that's not possible since this mod uses CBA to apply event handlers to all units that inherit from CAMan (i.e. all units). This is done at a config level and wouldn't be ideal as a script since the event handlers would need to be added manually for every (static or dynamically spawned) unit in your mission.

Wonderful addition ... could the screams be a little louder however. Yes it is subtle at the moment, but in reality you are going to shout out !

Thanks for the reply, but I already have a method of adding EH's to all units in my mission as I've recreated the spawn functions to include them. Could you send me the code so I could try to apply it in-mission? :bounce3:

Sure, just de-pbo the mod using PBO Manager.

Copy everything from the "init.sqf" into your mission's init.sqf to store all SFX arrays.

Copy the CfgSounds block from the "config.cpp" into your "description.ext".

Make sure you also include the 2 defines from the top of the config.cpp.

Exec (or preprocessFileLineNumbers and use spawn) "fn_unit_sfx_hit.sqf" whenever your "Hit" EH is fired. Similarly, exec "fn_unit_sfx_killed.sqf" whenever your "Killed" EH is fired.

hello, first thanks for this mod It is fantastic. Second, I am having trouble with the key and the sig. adding the key to the server and trying to connect, i get kicked every time. I believe there may be a problem with the key and sig.
