Recommended Posts

82nd Airborne Division

501st Parachute Infantry Regiment

2nd Battalion

Hello, and before you read this post I wanted to thank you personally for taking the time to read this post. It will be a bit long, but it will include all the information required to both understand what the unit is about and stands for, and also how to enlist or get in contact should you be interested. If you have any questions, please feel free to use the resources we provide at the bottom of the post to get into contact.

What is the 82nd Airborne?

The 82nd Airborne Division is a military simulation unit looking to redefine the standard of military simulation, by providing a drama free, mature, and professional environment where you are a person, not a number, and can have as equal a chance as any to succeed. This group was founded on those principles, and has taken them to heart and made sure that by the time the unit was officially open for recruitment, that everything was prepared and people in the community could join right up and begin enjoying the unit.

What We Do

As stated prior, the 82nd Airborne Division strives to maintain a mature, professional, and more importantly realistic. With that said, training and operations are held to a high standard, and are done on a fairly regular basis. While we dont have daily operations, we do have a public insurgency server using our modset, and a public vanilla server, which we will play on during the week for fun and recruitment. Then we have our private training and operations server, operations being Saturdays and Sundays at 1900 Eastern Standard Time, and our trainings taking place Saturdays and Sundays at 1500 Eastern Standard Time. These trainings and operations are all of course not only provide enjoyment, but are also intended to breed the skills required by our members for success. Also, we try to keep realism when it comes to operations and our objectives, so obviously we partake in missions that the real 82nd Airborne partake in, these operations include activities such as...

  • Counter Terrorism
  • Large Scale Conventional Warfare
  • Static Line Parachute Insertions
  • Helicopter Based Assaults (Direct Action is a possibility)
  • Defensive Operations
  • and many more activities that are not needing to be listed

Training and Requirements

We will begin with requirements, as the rest is not applicable to you if you do not meet these.

  • Must be 16+, if you are 14 or 15 there is a phase of candidacy
  • Must be mature and have a professional attitude
  • Must be willing to follow the chain of command
  • Must own a legal copy of ArmA 3
  • Must be willing to dedicate time towards the unit, as it shall to you
  • Must be able to make at least one unit event a week unless excused
  • Must complete the training process in the required time frame
  • Must maintain respect for your and others at all times

If you meet these requirements, then we will explain our training

Training to become a member comes in the forms of Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training, and the Airborne School. This comes in a 2 week long training course, which if you end up missing a day, must be made up. The longest you can be in training for is 1 month, otherwise you will be removed. Basic Combat Training is done first, and carried out on a Saturday or Sunday one weekend. Advanced Individual Training and Airborne School are done the following weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

Training does however differ depending on your MOS, as the one listed above only applies to infantry, health care specialists, radio operators, and TACP Operators. If you are enlisted in the 104th Fighter Squadron or the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade your training will differ.

How Do I Join?

Joining is a very simple process, it can be done by simply connecting to our teamspeak and finding a S-9 Personnel, who will then direct you to an S-1 Personnel and have your enlistment begin. Should you wish to get more information on this process, you can ask any S-9 or S-1 personnel on our teamspeak at...
