oxmox 73 Posted May 19, 2015 (edited) In the middle of Europe: A new trouble spot in this country is imminent (SPIEGEL google transl.) Macedonia is shaken by riots. Fears grow that share the radical representatives of Greater Albania itself and the spark jumps in neighboring countries. Something that concerns us not ? Far from it. Because the constellation, the parties and the polemics remind on the conflict in the Ukraine. Since two weeks, masses go on the streets in Skopje. Since three days followers of the opposition politician Zoran Zaev rebell against the Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski. They accuse him of being involved in a mafia system, and demanding his resignation. Gruevski rejects a retreat - albeit illegally recorded telephone conversations from him and his confidants prove criminal activity. "We are talking about the dictatorship of a political minority, which is supported by foreign intelligence services," he thundered now in Skopje before pro-government supporters. A foreign secret service, which he named no closer, delivered the controversial and allegedly manipulated material from the opposition. Moscows aimed blow against Putin He is not alonw with his opinion. Russia pushes the same tune. However, it comes from the Kremlin's point of view and is not primarily about the dismissal of the increasingly authoritarian occurring Gruevski: Rather, it is a targeted attack against Vladimir Putin. The operations in Macedonia should be seen against the background of refusal of Skopje to join the sanctions against Russia, said Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov last Friday during a visit to Serbia. It also plays another role: the Macedonian government supports the construction of the Turkish-Stream pipeline, with it the Russian Federation will allow gas transit beyond the Ukraine. The allegations remind on the Ukraine-conflict: Again, the Kremlin boss Putin accused the West of being behind the protests and subsequent regime change - because President Victor Yanukovych has pursued a too friendly policy with Russia. Lavrov draws parallels with Ukraine Western powers took advantage of the crisis in Macedonia, to fuel ethnic conflicts, in the city of Kumanovo 22 people died. According to official figures chasing cops Albanian terrorists. However, there are doubts about this version. The West attempts in Macedonia a "color revolution" to instigate - as it was in 2004 have been the case with the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, is a further allegation in the notice. This could lead to the disintegration of the state. Lavrov hints on the large Albanian minority in Macedonia - more than a quarter of the two million inhabitants have Albanian roots. Although so far demonstrate Albanians and Macedonians demonstrate together against or for the government, the fear that the mood could tip and separatist forces could use the crisis for their own purposes is growing. "We do not choose between East and West" Will be Macedonia after the Ukraine the new game ball in the growing conflict between the West and Russia ? "We do not choose between East and West", Vladimir Bozhinovski, a research associate at the University of Skopje told the TV station Al-Jazeera . The population waiting to come to the EU and NATO. Only the Greek veto prevents this. In fact for years, for ten years, it is one of the candidate countries unlike the Ukraine. Parallels to the Cold War And for Moscow itself Macedonia would as an ally strategically extremely important: It is dependent on the approval from Skopje to be able to carry out the gas pipeline Turkish Stream through Macedonia. Even more so since the alternative South Stream pipeline was vetoed by Bulgaria. According to the Kremlin due to Brussel. And now the West working on it, to saw off the remaining Russian-friendly government in Macedonia and to isolate Moscow further, continues Felgenhauer and summarizes the fear of Putin. The analyst sees parallels with Ukraine - and to the Cold War. The main question is: Who is on the US side, who on the side of Moscow ? The Ambassador of the USA and the EU are already trying to mediate between government and the opposition. In the recent days they brought in representatives of both sides in the capital Skopje on a table. However, the positions remained inconsistent. more: SPIEGEL report Edited May 19, 2015 by oxmox
Tonci87 163 Posted May 19, 2015 It´s actually quite simple. The Government is as corrupt and criminal as it can be. They are involved in mafia like crime schemes like drug traffic, they employ their own family members, they manipulate elections and elect judges that will do as they tell them. On top of this comes the huge scandal that the government has been secretly, and with no jurisdiction, spying on over 20000 citizens. This is not an Albanians vs Macedonians thing It´s simply opposition/citizens vs corrupt/criminal government. The government doesn´t get tired of insisting that it is Macedonians vs Albanians (and the evil west) to keep at least some public support. As I see it the current government has to step down and reelections have to be held immediatelly, of course they don´t want that because then they would all end up in jail as soon as they are not in power anymore. Sure thing, it is pure coincidence that this round of Macedonian mess broke out after joining the country to 'Turkish stream'. All that corruption problems never existed earlier. spooky lynx 73 Posted May 22, 2015 Of course they existed but now people are really fed up with it, but of course, blame everything on the evil west  Ze evil west is not something homogenious. Some are more, some are less, some are even neutral. That does not change the fact that such coincidences almost never happen.
beastcat 14 Posted May 23, 2015 Do you guys really believe that it is pure coincidence, that the fighting started on the day Nelson Mandela became president 10 years ago? 10 May - 10x5 = 50 If you replace the letters in Nelson Mandela with the corresponding numbers you get 14-5-12-19-15-14 13-1-14-4-5-12-1. Add that together and you get 128. 50x128= 6400. 6 April 2000, the day Mohammad Ali Fardin died. After his career as an actor failed he sold carpets. And do you know who loved carpets? That's right, Adolf Hitler! This is obviously an attempt by Adolf Hitler, who has been hiding on the dark side of the moon all this time, to overthrow the government of Macedonia in order to create the 5th reich and take over the world, duh. Yeah, I obviously have too much time on my hands, but at least Alex Jones would be proud.
