ineptaphid 6413 Posted January 23, 2016 The Viking series by Tim Severn. He is an interesting guy-he made a name for himself by recreating voyages from myths such as Jason and the Argonauts voyage,Brendan the navigator (Irish Saint who suposedly sailed to america in a tiny calfskin canoe called a curragh) Sinbad voyage, Ulysses and some others which he turned into books and documentaries. His Viking series is his first fictional work-3 books following a young boy through to adulthood from his birth in Iceland in 999AD through his voyages to Ireland,Scotland America and the Middle East. Fantastic books with a lot of authenticity and I think they would make a wonderful series of films. Although now that I think about it, I have never seen a film that was better than the book it is based on.They always have to condense and omit so much-maybe I would not like these books to be filmed. They would probably try to make it in to Game of Thrones or something..
