Arma 2 C-130J Port

Hello, i present you yet another port from A2.

This time it's the C-130J.

It doesn't do much (for now), you can use it to transport or airdrop a total of 25 troops.

The ramp has three settings: closed, leveled and open.

Cargo passengers embark and disembark/eject from the rear ramp.

The vehicle features A3 landing and collision lights.

There are also several new textures divided by nationality that go along my other mods or standard A1/A2/A3 factions:

- USMC (standard A2 and VMGR-352 Raiders liveries)

- Australian Defense Forces

- Israeli Defense Forces

- British Armed Forces (green and camo liveries)

- Royal Army Corps of Sahrani

- UNO

- Altis Armed Forces

- Takistan

There are still probably a couple bugs that i missed but it's otherwise ok.

Yes, this is a good idea.

I was actually thinking about doing this some time ago.

I'll consider doing a proper thread when i have time.

Any plans to include a RHS style walk inside the cargo bay and walk out of doors while the plane is moving? Also would it be possible to remove the droptanks on the wings? Awesome work so far :)

I'm not familiar with how RHS works. Walking on a moving object in arma though tends to create all sorts of problems.

Removing droptanks should be fairly easy to do, though. I'll throw that in for the next update.

UPDATE V0.2 - 20/05/2015

Brief update, added compatibility with Deltagamer's static line parachute.

Also user actions for opening the side doors are now available for both passengers and pilot and a small RPT error was fixed.

Do me a favor and edit the lightning and sound if you can? The sound is what bugs me the most about this bird (as it is currently sounding like a radial piston engine bird..)

What's wrong about the lightning? Last i checked all position and collision lights were working correctly.

As for sounds, the A2 sounds were used. I thought they were pretty accurate. What should they sound like instead?

It's a dead project.. but the lightning looked particularly good. Perhaps it is possible to remake this..

What do you mean by cargo variant?

No, the MC-130J is a special operation variant of the C130J. The C130J Cargo is literally a standard C130J but the seats in rear are removed.

Really like the port, but have a few suggestions if I may?

 

Would be good to model a co-pilot and flight engineer as distinct slots with various plane control options in the first two passenger slots (i.e. the ones in the cockpit), and have the actual passenger slots specifically located in the hold.

 

Currently when you 'get in the back as a passenger' you end up in the co-pilots seat!

 

A loadmaster slot would be good in the hold, given additional control of the rear ramp.

 

Would also be great if Lala's interior light script was supported for at least the hold, add a great deal to passenger immersion.

 

Fully appreciate this has likely moved to CUP now, but thought it cleaner to suggest here rather than that thread.

As a matter of fact what you suggest has already been done in CUP, the only thing missing being the loadmaster as far as i remember.

This mod is not likely to receive an update anytime soon unless there's something terribly broken, though.

is there anychance for this to be updated so we can load vehicles into the back with the thing that came out for apex.

 

or if its part of cup is there any chance just to get the British c130?

It's in CUP alright, with Vehicle in Vehicle compat. No separate version will be made. :P
