If you dreamt of killing Basques in Iceland, mind yourselves, it's not longer allowed

If you always dreamt of legally killing Patxi or Joseba while on holidays in Iceland, you'll have to think again, as since last week it's not allowed anymore. :p

(Iceland Review) Killing of Basques Now Banned in West Fjords

West Fjords district commissioner Jónas Guðmundsson revoked the order that Basques could be killed on sight in the region.

“Of course it’s more for fun; there are laws in this country which prohibit the killing of Basques,†Jónas told mbl.is. When asked whether he’s noticed an increase of Basque tourists since the order was revoked, he responded, “at least it’s safe for them to come here now.â€

Visitors to Iceland from the Basque Country need no longer avoid the Westfjords. Until last week, residents of the dramatic, remote region in northwestern Iceland could legally kill Basque visitors on the spot.
