In fact I've decided to use one of these HMP400 pods on one side of the heli and a rockets pod on the other side (I'll post a screen soon) ... but TOWs ... why not ? ... I'll work on that too :)

What is your perspective about this type of armament (I mean including TOWs) on each side rack mate ? an HMP400 pod on one side an a TOW launcher on the other side maybe ?

Just ideas I'm throwing out.

Dedi Anti-vehicle: 2x2 TOW or HOT missile tubes (2 on each side)

Fire support: 2 x 20mm M621 cannon. (Gun pods are used on BAF Wildcat)

Scout: 2x FN HMP400 Pods. (Ones you already have)

Well ... so far I have this version (see pics below) with an HMP400 pod on one side and an FFAR luncher on the other side ... I believe that this is one of the best configs for fire support or just scout roles.

Now ... I've also made the Anti-vehicle: 2x2 TOW version, as suggested, but on such version the lack of a machine gun maybe will cause troubles during missions.

I have a suggestion to get around the TOW issue, but its slightly unrealistic to the real vehicle. Have you tried replacing the camera/spotlight with a .50 turret that's controlled by the co-pilot, like an attack helo?

About the TOWs .. I was thinking to keep the HMP400 pod with .50 in it and a couple of TOWs on the other side ... I can also add 4 TOWs on some kind of rack instead of just two of them (this is slightly unrealistic but will add some firepower) ...

Is this acceptable http://prntscr.com/71hgno ... ?

From a purely selfish point of view, I would say yes, it's very acceptable. A challenge our group is facing is having a chopper that can carry at least six ground units as well as the punch to bring some ordinance if needed. Your suggestion would certainly do that and fill a hole I'm sure many others are experiencing. Having quality air assets without bringing an Apache:)

Besides, the best thing about Arma is having the realism with some allowances, right?

So ... I'll continue like this regarding the AT (TOWs) configuration. After all ... we are in year 2035 :)

Really like that quad tow setup, realistic or not, besides it's not like other helo's haven't used that setup so why not. Are you going to do a variant with pintle mounted door guns?

This matter have been discussed previously and the answer is negative (I'm talking about door mounted guns).

you can see it in RL here http://vpk.name/file/img/Eurocopter_EC635.jpg (183 kB)

Mate this is an FFAR launcher, not TOW launcher :)

the AT variant looks promising. but i would suggest to go with the spike (more modern and nearly the same size) it also has manual and auto guidance so, it would be the better choice.

I'm not familiar with "spike" ... please explain in detail.

I think it's the tv guided missile used in the tiger helo

The Spike is pretty much what the "Titan AT" is in vanilla. The most relevant version would be the Eurospike LR with a maximum range of 4000m (I think the ER version with a range of 8k would be an overkill for such a helo). Columbia for example has incorporated the Spike into their UH-60 fleet.

@geraldbolso1899

The Tiger is using different ATGMs. Currently France and Germany use the HOT2/3 (which is becoming obsolescent), Germany is moving towards PARS 3 LR and the Aussis are using Hellfires.

So far I've these variants ...

The Unarmed ... http://prntscr.com/71tkhr

The Support ... http://prntscr.com/71tkxl ... armed with 12 x M261 rockets and the HMP400 pod with a .50 caliber MG

The Anti-Tank ... http://prntscr.com/71tlpn ... armed with 4 x TOWs (Titan Missiles) and the HMP400 pod with a .50 caliber MG

For the moment I'll work with these variations as I believe that are enough for this model ....

looks good, should make it viable

the Swedish armed forces pack have a helo with just TOW's on it, its useless 90% of the time

I've one question ... I'm trying to add a FLIR operation on that chopper but according to weapons setup so far, I believe that only on the one armed with TOW missiles variant might be usefull ... for all other variants FLIR will be just for observation purposes and the weapon systems should be handled by the pilot only. Is that make sense to you ?
