Quick question,

I noticed that on the download page one of the optional downloads is the community upgrade project - weapon pack. That makes me very excited as I love the Arma 2 weaponry!

 

So if I download the escape mission to play with friends, is there a certain mission file we have to use so that all the weapons are replaced by Arma 2 weapons?

 

We really want to play the mission on bornholme - but with the arma 2 weapons. That'd be a dream come true.

 

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to giving this mission a try with a few friends shortly.

It depends on the package. When you download the CUP package every mission suffixed with CUP will have CUP weapons, units and vehicles.

 

When you download the newest version from the bleeding edge repository the missions will be suffixed with the involved factions. For example "SLA vs USMC" will let you play as CUPs Sahrani Liberation Army against CUPs USMC.

Question for Neo, and whoever might have had this issue

 

lately my friends and I have been trying to play escape on CUP Terrains maps, chernarus, sahrani, etc...

When starting the match and it gets to the black screen that says loading it gets stuck there forever. You can hit escape, go to camera mode, exit camera mode, and then can move your character around, albeit with no jail, or enemies.

It does this both on my dedicated server and when hosted locally on my main PC.

 

we attempted the most vanilla set of mods to narrow down issues and it will not load even with just CUP_terrains, CUP_core, and CBA loaded.

 

have you heard of others having this issue? It's becoming really annoying, altis and stratis are only so much fun

 

 

 

EDIT: I got the issue figured out. Need to run CUP Terrains complete on the server

 

 

 

To add to this, does anybody need moar friends for escape missions? Finding that we need moar fwends.

Kudos to Phantom for the help with placing markers on Tanoa.

Hi NeoArmageddon. Me and a couple of friends love playing your escape missions for RHS and CAF for ArmA 3. However, we cannot figure out how to complete your mission. We are unable to "hack the comms center". The farthest we get is getting the UAV bag, using the "Hack" option on the metal box, and then setting up the darter. We don't know what to do with it from this point. 

 

Are we missing something?

Would really hope for this to be resolved if possible.

Uhh you shouldn't need a UAV at all. Find the weird box at the comms center, use the hack action on it, an LZ marker will be added to your map, you go there and throw out a smoke grenade and wait for a ride home.

Hi Tuffleader

 

You are playing an older version, as the RHS + CAF and RHS + LOP versions were abandoned. Didn't think they were used much and the CAF Agressors gets no updates anymore. We plan an overhaul of the unitclasses to make it easier to maintain different modsets, that might bring them back.

So there might be a few bugs that were already fixed or problems with the newer Arma updates, but as T.Fork said there should be an option on the green box (or in older versions brown generator) next to the antenna tower. The "Hack drone" option is to convert it from a east- to west-side drone so you can use it, has nothing to do with the com center.

 

If you can find that I still suggest you use the newer version, maybe the old unitclasses file for CAF still works if you just add the new variables for sides to the top, can't remember if anything else changed.

 

With the new ones you get a bunch of bugfixes, new motorpool camps (thanks to Abelian and FrozenLiquidity), and can also play on Tanoa (thanks Phantom) and Australia (thanks Ceitho!). If you want a long session definitely try Australia, it is huuuuge.

 

A new build is up in the bleeding edge repository to try out, I added a lot more comcenter locations to both Tanoa and Australia. Grab it here

Would it be possible to make these missions ACE compatible? The medical system and revive systems seem to conflict pretty hard since it looks like they use Vanilla Arma damage values, so you're still wounded despite ACE telling you that you're fine.

That is ACE not considering the missions Hit-Eventhandler (which in my opinion is an ACE failure, not mine).

I suggest disabling ACE Medical System for this mission or comment out the missions Revive yourself.

Needs a password. Is this just for testers or can the public try it?

 

Edit: I'm an idiot, went to the first post and figured it out.

By the way, amazing job on this mission, sorry I never gave you your ACE integration thing, I ended up discovering I'm totally incompetent and can't make anything even remotely suitable for anyone but myself to use.

Never, ever under any circumstances have every player in the same vehicle during escape. You travel in two vehicles or you walk. :D

Not yet, we still need to add the new units to a modset. We will release it a few days after Apex is released.

Hi Neo,  Posting this here to see if we can figure out whats going on.

 

The Tanoa Escape for what ever reason isnt allowing me to change the parameters while in lobby as an admin on our dedicated server.  Not sure if this is due to a server config issue or not,  havent been able to figure that part out.

 

Considering this, i tried to depbo the mission and edit the params file to make the changes i wanted to see on our dedicated server.  When i packed the file back up,  and pushed it up to the server,  it failed to start and flooded the console with this...

Its worth noting that I left the spawn distance alone at 700 and the only things i was attempting to change was,  squad size, difficulty, wartorn, and weather/times.

 

Is this anything you could help identify what might be causing either of my 2 problems trying to run this?

do you were unable to change them in the lobby or does changing just didn't had an effect? Escape remembers parameters and loads them the next time except when you change the first parameter to "Use below an save" or "Use below (and don't save)". Just want to make sure you didn't make the obvious failure before I start digging in the code.

When running locally,  i go into the parameters options and can dbl click them and select which option to use.

But when #login adminpw and showing that im in as admin on the server,  i go into the parameters section on the dedicated server and the options will not allow me to change them. 

This is why I am not sure if there is some setting (possibly server.cfg?) for the dedicated server vs running this locally.

 

If you want, i can start it up and give you the admin pw to see if you get a different result.

 

But... maybe I am just being dumb...  Does the dedicated server act like a local host and should allow you to double click the options to get to the value menu for that option?  Or is there a different way to change the options that I am just not aware of?

That should normally work as you describe. But I remember there was a problem like this in early Arma3. I suspect it is your server, not the mission (can you verify that?). I will ask around.

Hey , great mission , i love playing it with my friends but i have a question. How am i supposed to use the UAVs ? 

I know there is some kind of "class" , but even when i choose the "UAV Specialist" i cant manage to start the UAV, i get the terminal and that small "drone" but i cant make it work.

Hey I'm playing the Tanoa version on the Apex sneak peek branch and it has been a great experience so far. I'm just wondering if anyone knows a way we can add randomized boats to the shoreline. Altis and other maps were manageable without them but its impossible to avoid swimming on Tanoa unfortunately

Are you using the (unofficial) SteamWs version from phantom or the official but unreleased bleeding edge/dev version? The later has random civil boats at piers and also enemy boats patrolling the coasts.
