Its a Iraq-Syria war mod.

not islamic war mod

plus there is already a mod that have boko haram, the middle east warfare mod.

unless you are a developer of this mod I find this comment incredibly ignorant, and its pretty ridiculous that you would throw your own view on someone else's work as definitive. Do you know what the developer has in mind? Did I say "Are you going to add boko haram to this particular mod?" no, I asked if he had any plans to add boko haram, whether it be this mod or a separate mod he plans to release. I am aware that MEC has boko haram and I am using it but it doesnt have the great vehicle and unit diversity this mod presents. Not trying to start an argument but just wanted a valid answer and clarity of my question.

Right now this mod's focus is intended to stick to the factions fighting it out in Iraq and Syria. So no Taliban or Boko Haram are planned.

This mod is my favorite mod in Arma3, it is very detailed on how both rebel groups use the uniforms. The SAA are also really nice, I like the models a lot, although I feel like there should be more of the Assad's units like the NDF. Al-Nus and IS are great too, my humble opinion is that IS should not all wear the face covers, that should vary with some wearing no face covers, others could use of caps (baseball type) well in short have them varied in what they wear in there head. Al-nus the same should be implemented, different head wear, some should also wear military fatigues.

Correct me if I'm wrong, do IS wear any US Army ACUs? I haven't came across any.

Overall your mod is awesome thanks for making it, I been following this conflict since 2013.

Some units ideas:

NDF: wearing civilian clothing mismatch with the woodland green you use in the SAA. Different headgear, vests and chestrigs. What will make them be distinguish from the other groups, maybe the patches they wear in their uniforms? (Opfor side)

YPG: using that marpat green (or similar uniform I don't know the origins of it, but its close to the marpat green) uniform they use, with different vest and chest rigs

It be awesome if you can also add a unit of the YPJ women battalions. Vary on some wearing normal civilian clothing, and don't forget to add the yellow triangle patch they use. (Bluefor side)

FSA: the same as NDF details but with more woodland camo uniforms. I'm not sure if they use helmets, don't remember any videos of them using. (Ind side)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

qu-ds force -using the MEC mod-

Hezblla -using the MEC mod-

Hmas -using the MEC mod-

----------------------------------------------------

Sunni generic militia -using red or yellow head bands- with different variety of uniforms or civilian clothing. No head gear just the head band (Independent and Opfor side)

Shia generic militia -using blue or green head bands - wearing civilian clothing. No head gear just the head band. Don't forget the true religion jeans lol. (Ind and Opfor side)

Just like the Hmas in -MEC mod- that use the green head band. You can get an idea of what I mean.

These are just based on the Syria conflict.

--------------------------------

For the Iraqi front

Kurd Peshmerga: more professional military than the YPG in terms of uniform and wear. Not to mention better weapons. (Bluefor)

Iraqi Police: maybe use some of Max-cops and robbers with his permission. (Independent side)

Iraqi army: with its current uniforms. (Ind side)

Iraqi Special Ops: with its current uniforms (Ind side)

IS: with MRAPs, Humvees, and other US goodies.

Maybe add a group of IS men wearing a complete uniform like the ones in the video of the Jordan pilot (RIP) wearing a desert digital color. Or like the ones riding the horses in a parade (ACU digital)?. Make a IS unit more professional in terms of uniform.

Why so Another duplicate ISIS mod? also it's name, Iraqi-Syrian Conflict, isn't something fix, and this "Conflict" is something beyond it's current situation.

This is what I'm talking about! What map an other addons will create the ultimate Syrian Iraq conflict mission?

I concur. There have been many who said they're bored with the Arab scenario and welcome the futuristic theme. But urban warfare in places such as Syria and Iraq is IMO the pinnacle of a tactical shooting. The more realistic and immersive the better. Fighting bug helmet Iranians just sucks and is uninspiring.

Yeah totaly agree with you. I wish they (bohemia interactive) would have made a top notch modern day middle eastern setting (syria/iraq) instead of a future themed sience fiction story with earth quake machines set on a greek island noone cares about.

plus the most random factions in the world.

Irainians using finnish armored personal carriers REALLY?

I personally have always dreamed about a experience more along these lines here (which is what i hope this mod will bring but slightly doubt )

Any news about merging the mod with the Iraqi warfare mod.

That mod had some quality stuff in it

Sunni generic militia -using red or yellow head bands- with different variety of uniforms or civilian clothing. No head gear just the head band (Independent and Opfor side)

The shia´s usually use red and yellow head bands (hezboallah and abu fald al abass brigades)

The sunni´s use white and green head bands (isis and islamic front)

A good idea would be to use TRYK.

These clothes are well detailed and feature realistic camouflage, it can be used for any militia faction in the game.

+The soldiers look cool as fuck with them on

Ive seen some videos where they use blue headbands, are those another ethnic group?

I have no idea about blue headbands.

It might be tribal militia if you saw it in iraq (or some faction i have never seen)

So I have this mod succesfully installed I'm just not sure which server you all are playing on online. I was hoping I would beable to play online with other people with this mod i may be confused though cause it kinda seems like people just use this for single player usage.

Hey for a start dude, what country are you in? Unless you have a crazy good connection, you will likely need to find other players from the same region. Beyond that, I think if people are playing it online then it will probably be on a private server with a known circle of friends. They will also probably have made a scenario to play as co-op. The mod hasn't actually been released for very long so I don't think you will find any dedicated and public servers running it... pretty much all I ever see on my server list (in Australia) is King Of The Hill, Epoch, and vanilla anyway.

I think your best bet for getting a game going online would be to rope as many of your friends together to play a scenario one of you makes. Maybe there is a section of this forum where you can meet some people in your region to play online with?

Personally, I only use this mod for single player scenario making and only ever venture online to play a little bit of KOTH, but not for over a month now. I wouldn't mind playing some co-op missions, but I don't have a circle of friends who play ARMA... plus I have terrorists (young children), which make playing a game without a pause button very difficult.

Thanks for this info, I actually live in canada and my internet is pretty much as fast as it gets here (also use wired connection). What is KOTH by the way ? I just want to find online servers where it actually has compatibility with all the mods you have to download for this lol.

I don't know anything at all about Canadian internet, but 'fast as it gets' there may not be fast enough to play someone on the other side of the world. That's the case for Australia at least.... but we do rank lower in speed than Kazakstan.. so yeah :j:

Ok I know a little bit more about Canadian internet now, here is a ranking page which says your internet is twice as fast as Australia: http://www.netindex.com/download/allcountries/

KOTH is King Of The Hill. It's a 3 way team battle to control a zone by having the most players in it, scoring points for time intervals they are the dominate team until 1 team reaches the winning score. You can not mix mods with KOTH servers. For example, if you use JFyre sound mod, you will have to disable it to join a KOTH server... even though only yourself will hear the sound difference and it wont give you any edge. That sucks but there is nothing that can be done from the joining players end. Even more incompatible would be trying to mix weapons or factions mods into it. In KOTH you purchase and unlock weapons, so even if the server loaded up with your mod weapons, it won't have them in the menu to choose because they weren't put there by the mod maker.

So basically, the only way you will be able to play this mod (or any) online is if the server has it enabled and the scenario or what not actually using the modded stuff. That's why I say your best chance of playing it online is if you find a circle of friends to start a server and a scenario to play together.

Hello bro, could you make Islamic Front? They're Nusra and FSA's ally.

Islamic Front is a coalition of many rebel groups. You can't add a coalition as a single faction, as they are all unique and may split from each other at any moment. For example, a group called Suqour al-Sham was in the IF coalition until they were routed by IS, and now they have defected to the latter as part of their surrender.

Do you plan on adding the Syrian Republican guard, as they are a very important part of the current conflict.
