It's been a while since our last stable patch came out and have things changed in the mean time! For starters both US and Russia fans will be happy to know that we are bringing a huge makeover to both factions' character gear. The US Army and USMC have been overhauled with a mix of new and improved assets, meaning most of the old data from A2 is now gone or revamped. Meanwhile Russia received the full Ratnik kit in four different variants, featuring models of exceptionally high quality. To top this off the Zubr/Pomornik-class LCAC has been added, expanding capabilities to Russia and other factions such as the Sahrani Liberation Army. We have expanded the naval section even further with the addition of the Type 072 Landing Ship, which works as a static platform for you to use as an offshore base. The Bundeswehr also received a couple new toys in the form of the Boxer IFV, currently available with either troop transport module (featuring HMG and GMG turrets) or no module, and the Panzerfaust 3. Finally, we're proud to introduce a new faction to the community, the Horizon Islands Legion: tracing their roots in the French Foreign Legion and featuring a mix of european and US made hardware, they act as the standing army for the Horizon Islands. While going through new stuff I noticed some, what I believe, issues, but I may be wrong: Pro-Tec helmet requires 2 shots from 9mm pistols to the head to kill - IIRC Pro-Tec was just a bike/sport helmet, with no ballistic protection, so it seems a bit overpowered? As I said - I dunno, I'm not expert on this stuff! M17 pistol sights have weird proportions - rear sight notch is a bit too wide, while front sight blade is definitely too thin (it should have almost square appearance). The way it's modelled now, in real life it would be hard to hit a barn with it. M21 AR-TEL scope - IIRC, in the real thing it had a second focal plane reticle, and range/zero was tied to zoom level (that's how it works in OFP too). CUP version is FFP with manual zeroing. I guess this may be a concious decision, maybe A3 doesn't allow automatic ranging anymore? HK416 and M27 seem a lot less accurate than M4 and it's variants. From what I know, it's the other way - bare-bones HK416 is noticeably more accurate even when compared to accurized M4s. Matter of fact USMC is now taking off Leupold scopes from Mk12 SPRs, and putting them on M27s, which ends up a better combination than SPR. Finally, it may be just me, but a lot of vehicles (mostly US ones) have a very weird colour palette, as if oversaturated. Good example of that is comparison between RACS MTVR and Land Rover - MTVR feels "wrong". Or comparing Abrams vs Leo2 - Abrams camo black splotches seem more like very dark purple. Is this set in the configs? Might be related to the simulation="aircraft" vs. simulation="aircraftX". Vanilla use aircraftX, that includes physX.
