Arma 3 - Marksmen Community Challenge

Recommended Posts

Work together to obtain fresh intel on the 7 new weapons in the upcoming Arma 3 Marksmen DLC!

What’s your mission? A certain number of all Arma 3 players needs to have unlocked the Bonus Targets achievement on Steam, after which new artwork from the upcoming Marksmen DLC will be declassified on www.arma3.com/marksmen-challenge/.

So head over to the firing range, and invite your friends to participate in the challenge. Good luck soldiers!

Done, since 29 maj, 2014 @ 8:09pm.

Fun challenge though, and perhaps a good PR move :)

Currently working on it, which one is the best challenge to get the bonus target achivement?

Nevermind, done it. But is it just me, or are those bonus targets not worth the effort. They give no real bonus and are extremely hard to hit.

They're those red small round targets almost like balls. In red course they're naturally red ;)

Only problem is, it's still at 1.3%. Lol, this could... take awhile.

I suggest that we share the link to the challenge page within our communities. Not everyone visits the forums/reads tiwtter/reads all their emails :)

Considering Arma 3 has sold over a million units, at least 7000 more people would need to unlock the achievement to jump it up from the starting value of 1.3%, up to 2%, then a further 10,000 to get to 3% and so on. So basically you need an additional 27,000 players to unlock the achievement before you get all the artworks - i.e. for a total of at least 40,000 players with the achievement.

Looking at Arma 3's stats, the game usually manages to log up to 30,000 concurrent players on a daily basis. No idea what the daily total of unique players is to give a figure of active numbers of people playing the game, but since not everybody plays at the same time you can guarantee it's >30,000.

Stop using statistics to ruin our dream of conceptual gun porn artwork. If you don't like the odds of us succeeding,

Nah mate, I was being fairly positive about it - basically I'm saying if everyone playing the game right now took 5 minutes to do the challenge, you'd be well on your way to getting 4 of the 6 artworks that are still up for grabs. And given timezones, length of individual game sessions with people logging in and out etc. the number of concurrent players probably doesn't even come close to the total number of unique players who will actually launch the game in a given 24 hour period, let alone this week. I think 4% is probably achievable if people are interested.

I mean people like me are not currently playing the game to be amongst the 28,000 ingame right now, but still I took the time to go into the shooting challenges earlier and bag those bonus targets.

Also, bear in mind that the Achievements page on steam might not update in real time like some of the other stats pages on steam. It may only show cumulative changes every 24 hours or something like that.
