Weapon Resting & Deployment Feedback

Recommended Posts

I like the new deploy/undeploy sound and how fast undeployment is right now.

And good job on fixing reloading sound desync when deployed and new animations on for reloading while deployed in prone.

Whaddaya know, the resting/deployment indicator is quite nice actually, doesn't bother me in the slightest. :)

Anyone got info on the adjustable bipod legs, I can't figure it out?

Try the raise and lower buttons for the strider camera while deployed. Just a thought.

I have this strange feeling it's tied to the leaning mechanic.

Be useful if we could deploy bipods in broken windows :)

We already can. But I guess it doesn't work on some windows?

I had too, but atleast it's not as simple as just leaning to either side as it does nothing when deployed prone on an uneven ground.

Also no luck with the lower/raise turret keys.

You can, it's just a bit picky about where you're facing when you hit the deployment key. But if you look at the bottom of the frame (sometimes the corners work best) and move around a bit, eventually it'll find a place to snap to.

Currently it seems that prone deployment exit pose is remembered, and when you then deploy again, it sets itself to the pose from where you left last.

repro:

1) Go prone and deploy

2) Aim all the way to the left

3) Undeploy

4) Deploy again, your aim will now shift to the left, as when you undeployed.

I don't know, on Dev branch right now. Anytime i am prone and reload, my ammo counter turns red, and stays this way permanently. Not only that, but it doesn't play an actual reload animation, and causes you to be stuck there until death, restart, or aborting the mission. Try picking an weapon, make sure it has a bipod on it, but don't use the bipod, just go prone and reload.

Im playing on RC branch and still get this in SP alone in the editor.

edit: just went back in to test and it happens everytime I attempt to reload with a bipod on the gun but NOT deployed.

Works fine when bipod is deployed but as soon as i undeploy bipod and attempt to reload, no animation and i am stuck and cannot move or do anything besides rotate 360 degrees while prone

It also happens when you don't move your view when deployed; just go prone and spam deploy/un deploy and you'll notice that your view always shifts right, slowly rotating you.

Wow, it's in RC? That's a problem.

Yep, and only 5 (or 4 depending on your location) days until the scheduled release date...Oh dear.

Yep. I now made a video about it:

I'm not sure is it really too bad thing, I'll let the devs decide that.

I have now tested a vanilla arma 3 and the reload and stuck does NOT happen so it must be mod related...

DarksideOfficial... what mods do you run??

EDIT...

Ok... i got lucky... found out that in my setup it is TPW mods causing this and in particular the animspeed.pbo.

I moved it to a disabled folder in tpw mods and now I can reload with the bipod undeployed while prone.

DSSO- if you run tpw, can you test that as well before i bother tpw with it?

Unfortunately not on DEV currently. Got my hands full chopping down tree's at the moment. :D

It is a bad thing, it's disorienting and feels like you're not in control. If it wasn't, we wouldn't be talking about it. :p

Since I discovered it in a MP match while in a firefight, I can quickly tell you it's a bad thing :)

I just noticed these in the profile file when I was looking for Bi-pod adjust:

keySwitchGuns[]={};

keySwitchRockets[]={};

keySwitchMissiles[]={};

keySwitchBombs[]={};

Seems to be some nice work going on again in the background :)

/And those things seems to work only with vehicles (at least currently)

I guess it could be the turret adjust up and down?

/Nope it isn't hmmm....

Haven't those particular keys been in for a couple of weeks or so? I remember seeing something about it in the change log.
