:EDIT: Nvm, I see what you're getting at, the clipping issue I am aware of, and as of yet, have no idea how to fix, would appreciate some input on this.

You've got an animation in your model.cfg that rotates the sight ladder when the GL zeroing is altered (zeroing2 source). I think that zeroing rotation will be added/subtracted from the angle that the ladder is given when it flips up/down with the weaponMuzzle source and cause an over-rotation of the ladder at certain zeroing settings. Basically you don't need the zeroing2 animation, since it's intended for GL quadrant sights rather than ladder sights.

I had a play with the source files for the UGL (L85A2_ugl.p3d and L85A2_ugl.cfg) last night to work that way without the zeroing2 source. I was adding an animation to fold the front sight post of the UGL down as well as the ladder, when I had a few problems with the anim not working outside of buldozer: While testing the anim ingame I was noticing that I had a problem where the ladder wouldn't go up/down when changing between the UGL muzzle and the normal rifle muzzle when I binarised the source files - the sights always stayed in the 'up' position regardless of what muzzle/firemode I selected. So as part of my faffing around trying to fix that I deleted the zeroing2-based anim, because it seemed redundant from what I could tell from the model and it seemed like a suspect in what was conflicting with the weaponMuzzle-based anim. You can have a look at what I altered in those two files here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/iudmhkrcjukbmyc/kio_l85a2_UGLedit.rar?dl=0

But as for what the actual problem I was experiencing with the GL sight animation was, I think there was a small conflict derived from both model.cfgs using the same skeleton name (class l85a2_skel) because it appeared to be ignoring the additional bones defined in the L85A2_UGL.cfg skeleton and only using the ones that were in the normal L85A2.cfg skeleton. The problem went away when I changed the class cfgSkeletons name in L85A2_ugl.cfg to class l85a2_ugl_skel.

I don't think it's necessary, I bought these sounds, I wouldn't be happy using any others.

Saying that, there seems to be people getting issues with the sound closure happening too fast or not syncing, so I may have to make different sounds for that, but yea, they are free to make their own sounds, but for my versions, they stay.

At first I wasn't sure about the new sounds - but the more I use the L85, the more they're growing on me :P

Also, the pinnacle question: RIS - yay or nay? Do you think you'd ever work on this at some point? I love the handguard version of the L85, but it's not used much anymore by the military (except maybe the Queen's guards haha). Adding a RIS version to the pack would really put the cherry on the cake, you'd make a lot of people (including me) very happy indeed (maybe even enough to send another little donation your way) ;)

Loving the L85 so far, I can't put the thing down :p

The sound is perfect!

I think the problem is the default BIS closure. they are too loud.

maybe changing the volume parameters? (if they exist.)

So I would love to check this out, we need an L85. But there's no playwithsix download. Need that, otherwise folks in the group will never download or be current.

I don't support Play with Six.

Just to let you know, the Elcan scope will be released tomorrow, textures are almost complete, so the rest is just configging etc, easy stuff.

Quick Question will the Elcan Scope be like the MRCO where it has a close range usage and also a long range usage. I can't really explain it but if you've ever used the MRCO you know what I'm talking about.

Yes, it will come in two flavours, one with a reflex sight, and one without, the one with the top reflex sight will have 2 vision modes.

I echo this.. add the RIS/L22/L86 and it'd be fecking awesome and this would most likely be the core mod for most British units. The amount of overtime I've worked in the last 3 days im sure I can spare some money next come next month when it reaches my bank account and I will appreciate you taking your time to make mods for a reasonably small part of the arma community

Don't stress it Siddy, but I have decided to do the RIS variant after the Elcan is complete.

Quick question, will the RIS version have a foregrip, or will you make an attachable foregrip?

Well considering its very hard to do a decent foregrip as an attachment (and arguable, useless-just aesthetic and takes up a slot better used for something else+buggy) and that the RIS is generally always seen with a foregrip in most cases I'd say it should be modelled with one.

Hopefully without the foregrip and just the RIS

Hopefully without the foregrip and just the RIS

But why? A foregrip is used so much more and is way easier to use!

I was only hoping it would be seperate because i have seen a few l85 setups with the grip at different points on the risrail, and a few grip variants might be nice...

---------- Post added at 17:15 ---------- Previous post was at 17:12 ----------

And also the type of grip, i.e.:

Yeah if possible different varients is possible then that would be great, but it would mean more work

Another day, another update, links have been updated in the first post.

Added the Elcan LDS, comes with two versions, one with the reflex sight and without, enjoy lads!

Edit: It's unfinished in case you couldn't tell, requires a glass bit thingy etc, but it's functional for now.
