Thanks for a great Bravo, now you guys are making me want Charlie ASAP, which I know is still a long ways off. I seem to be having problems with SA-2 missiles not launching on a dedicated server, am I the only one with this problem, works great on my computer.

Are there any modules included with Bravo that allow calling in artillery or napalm strikes? 

 

If not, anyone know where I can get some instructions on how to do something like that? We've been playing Unsung at simhq.com since Alpha and I'm looking to spice things up a bit.

Not in Bravo itself but you can use the Arma 3 support modules

Why do you want to launch SA missiles at a dedicated server?

only pook can diagnose this one. it depends if he's using the SAM site or a single sam launcher for a start.

You can join us on Saturdays at 4PM EST. Go to the ARMA3 sub forum at simhq.com. No prior training or commitment required.

There are some clans that play it as well I think, but they require joining and such.

There are no missions included with the UNSUNG mod at this time. There were a dew made by players for the Alpha release so hopefully soon some new missions for Bravo will be available for single players.

I have Unsung and it's missions from Steam loaded and running.

 

I have two issues:

 

1.  no night vision (maps are so dark can't see a damn thing, lol

2.  some files seem to be missing;   ahem09, laugh10, sigh05, belch03

 

There are two missing files: uns_rpk_base with scope=private, uns_pistol with scope=private

 

 

Any help would be appreciated.

 

The mod is so dark I cannot play it.

in regards to your point number 1, unfortunately Vietnam wasn't the best of places for night vision, it was still in its infant stages. There was a bit of heated discussion about this quite a few pages back, but basically summary is that NV gear that did exist was very heavy, or vehicle mounted...don't know if the unsung team are planning to include them, but rest assured the quality of NV gear back then wasn't much better than the mk1 eyeball.

 

number 2 unfortunately that requires someone more intelligent than me to answer.

No night vision in Vietnam. The Starlight scope, 1st generation night vision, was a rare thing and very grainy. That's the only night vision available in Vietnam era and Unsung. The Starlight is available as a scope on certain sniper rifles but if the mission maker didn't include it in the mission you're stuck.

the scope is supposed to be private on the base class weapons you listed, as they are BASE classes and should not be loading in game. how did you come by them? perhaps a mission maker added them by mistake to his ammo crates...

 

regarding portable NVGs, Gunnery Sgt Hartman would like to take you out for a stroll in the country...

Yeah we know. That patch is 3.1 (bravo) which patches 3.0 (bravo).

All of the links for your download needs are here - tip bookmark that page.

If you need only the 3.1 patch you can get that link either on PWS page or direct via torrent on the webpage i just linked.

Otherwise there are torrent links for the whole mod at 3.1b (with that patch included) or armaholic has it already compiled together.

 

What I have found puzzling is seeing some servers hosting 3.0 bravo AND 3.1 bravo patch as SEPARATE MOD FOLDERS.  This is a very bad idea, as

a. it adds 500mb to your mod load

b. you are running lots of old code then patching it - which could have unexpected results.

 

Patching for dummies:

1. download 3.1b patch.

2. right click on it and extract to folder using a free copy of winrar (also linked on our webpage above).

3. open the addons folder inside the patch folder

4. cut all of the files in there by highlighting them and using ctrl-X

5. browse to your arma 3\unsung_bravo\addons folder (your path/folder names may be different)

6. paste the files in with ctrl-V. Agree to write over any duplicate-named files

7. start Arma 3 (in-game launcher dialog) and select mods and load unsung bravo

8. that's it.

 

when charlie comes out, it is likelywe will just dump the old stuff and replace the whole mod, as a significant proportion of the mod files have already been changed for charlie release - as a result of BIS changing base class values in 1.60.  They have done a similar thing for 1.62 / Tanoa, so if that becomes a standard release in the next few months we will be forced to release charlie early, as currently we are getting loads of new popups with the 1.62 dev build - again because BIS has moved and changed standard base definitions.  It is not ideal to mod stuff with that kind of change going on in the core game code, but at least they are fixing things eh.

 

xmas comes early... it just won't have as much kit in it as in our roadmap. that will get pushed to delta instead.

I was lucky to get it, mainly because I cannot use torrents.

Just use PWS since it auto-updates.  I have started instructing my friends to use it since it is "hassle-free" and no more playing w/ RAR files and all the computer support questions that go along with it :)
