epilexic 10 Posted December 22, 2014 Who We Are: The 21st MEU is a milsim unit inspired by United States Marine Corps doctrine and tactics, not based upon a real life unit. Currently we have one LAR platoon and with air support. We chose LAR to provide the mobility and firepower of LAVs with the option to deploy without vehicles as a light infantry platoon as all members of an LAR platoon are infantry regardless of their position as a crewman or scout. As we grow we will add additional LAR or Infantry platoons as needed. Improvise, adapt, and overcome. 21st MEU is mission oriented and will organize itself as needed to maintain a diverse range of capabilities. What We Do: Unit operations and training are held on the weekends, with informal play during the week. Unit operations are story driven PVE and are sometimes played with other units. Play during the week varies and ranges from whatever our imaginations can come up with, including occasional PVP. Our Expectations: We expect our players to be mature (fairly), responsible, and play as a team. You don’t have to be a robot, but you do have to know when to stop goofing around and be serious. There is no age restriction as long as fit the previous requirements and get along with fellow team mates. A good sense of humor and thick skin is a bonus. We do not expect every member to refer to each other by name and rank, but we do expect our members to respect and follow the orders of higher ranking members. The rest of our expectations and standards of conduct will be given to those who express interest in joining. Our Training: Our boot camp is from one to two hours teaching basic rifleman knowledge, with five SOI lessons focusing on more in depth training. We realize everyone has their own schedules (ourselves included) so boot camp is conducted as needed and training is attended whenever you can. Completing SOI is not required to play in operations, but it is required to advance in the unit. Air and vehicle training is also conducted as necessary. Open Positions: Every member must first prove themselves as a rifleman while they are in recruit status. You can choose to remain a rifleman, other infantry roles, corpsman, vehicle crew, or possibly pilot. Pilot positions are selective and are not air-frame specific. In maintaining our goal of adaptability, we expect proficiency primarily in rotary attack and troop transport, with fixed wing a bonus. Bottom Line: Ultimately this is a game, full realism is not going to be achieved and even the “hardcore†units fall short. We try to find the balance between realistic and fun. If you aren't having fun, then what’s the point? Come check us out if we sound like a good fit for you.
