GLT Mod Extended - Release Thread

Important Note: GLT Mod Extended is End-of-Life. All content and development has been shiftet into GLT Mod!

 

Hi there, please let me present this new mod ArmA 3.

What's GLT Mod Extended?
GLT Mod Extended is an optional extension to the original GLT Mod. It is not meant to be used as standalone and never will be! While I'm trying to only use a few 3rd party addons in the original mod, I would like to create missions in GLT Mod Extended using own stuff and lots of other great 3rd party addons. Those addons are not included in this mod and must be downloaded separately!

My main goal for GLT Mod Extended is to create a lot of missions for the Arma 2 maps (mainly Chernarus and Takistan), and later for other community created maps.

Requirements:
GLT Mod (always the latest version)
NATO SF and Russian Spetsnaz Weapons
BW Mod
RHS Escalation Mod
AiA Terrain Pack or CUP (Community Update Project) Terrain Pack
Helvantis (only required for Helvantis missions)

Lingor (only required for Lingor missions)

Installation

  • Put the folder @GLT_X into your main ArmA 3 folder
  • Use the parameter -mod=@GLT_X to load the mod with your arma3.exe
  • You can check if the mod has been loaded correctly if you have the GLT Extended logo in the ArmA 3 main menu

any particular reason why a3mp is required instead of aia tp?

We are using the A3 map pack in our coop events. I can't tell if AiA will cause issues because there is a lot of stuff included. Maybe it'll work :)

I only ported the ChDkz and CDF uniforms and headgear to Arma 3. I failed with the vehicles. The units are requiring Massis russian weapons and they are featuring random headgear selection.

Btw ... I'm going to create a package this weekend for the promised CUP donation :) Then CUP can continue and improve things if they want.

First off Thanks for this MOD!!

Secondly i feel i need to clear this up

Legislator there is some confusion here.. Ill clear this up. All in ARMA Terrain Pack doesnt include alot of stuff. just the maps.. You are thinking of the complete mod All In Arma. the Terrain Pack its a current and continually developed mod. As opposed to A3MP which contains a few but decent glitches and has NO support. AIA TP has a team of people working on it.. a3mp is dead.

I was going to download this threw PlaywithSix however, PwS makes you download A3MP.. and thats a NO Go as i already have AIA TP and i dont need to loose another several Gigabits to a mod/maps i already have.

Is there any way that you can Remove the Dependancy on A3MP and just let us choose which one to use... Ie not the outdated glitchy one.

You guys should try it, really; the differences with A3MP are amazing.

I have a lot of respect for Alduric, but AiA TP is many, many steps ahead now.

GLT Mod Extended Update to 1.01

GLT Mod 1.01 provides a full bunch of Winter units and objects of the GLT forces. The requirements of the mod changed! RDS weapons and tanks are not required anymore. If you want, you can add Helvantis to the mod list. But you'll only need it if you want to play the missions.

Since last Arma 3 patch the GLT Startpos Fix, basicly a modified A3 respawn manager, is broken. The player is teleported to the respawn_SIDE marker in each mission.

A copy of of the respawn manager will be created with non-BIS functions to avoid conflicts.

Besides that, there could be more issues. I have to check every single feature again. The next big patch is scheduled for May 2015, but of course I'll aim to release a hotfix asap in april.

GLT Mod Extended Update to 1.02

The main focus of GLT Mod Extended was to update all missions and to equip them with the arsenal feature.

Changelog

  • changed: GLT static AT and AA launchers have been retextured
  • fixed: CDF AT backpacks had wrong ammo type
  • fixed: static weapons could not be assembled anymore
  • new: The Emir of Zargabad (Zargabad mission)

Looks like great work. Is there a compatibility patch included with the weapons, too, so magazines will work with the right weapons even if they're from a different mod?

To a very, very small extend yes. But only to srifle_mas_m107 and BWA3_G82 so you can use the magazines of both mods. I usually don't want to interfere with other mods but this weapon is one of our most used ones in missions.

You're absolutely right. However the best option would be to contact the authors of the mods that provide the weapons ;) Anyway, within the missions it's restricted to whitelisted items anyway and I usually don't mix up stuff that doesn't fit to each other.
