Arma 2 Mil Mi-24 Hind Port

Recommended Posts

After being bombed with messages from the community i decided to make this happen.

So here it is, the Mi-24 Hind from Arma 2 in all its glory!

As usual it has all the BIS textures (CDF/Taki/Ru) and variants (D/P/V).

I didn't have much time to test this but there shouldn't be any major issue.

It flies, lands, shoots and blows up just fine.

You can consider this an alpha release for now, as there are a few things that deserve some improvements.

Addon is signed, inside the folder you can find the bikey too.

Have a nice day!

Known Problems:

- All weapons for the Mi24P are moved to the gunner because of an issue with missiles locking, pilot can still operate the cannon and rockets by switching to manual fire.

- One of the two navigation balls inside the cockpit is reversed for some reason i couldn't figure out.

Credits

BIS - Models and original textures

Chairborne - Textures, config, port, etc...

I guess some of the stuff i already released deserve some polishing and tweaks to materials.

hey there, i would like to use your hinds in conjunction with the RHS ones, but there is a "small" problem

looks like a similar problem as with your Mi8 /Mi17

RHS manages rocket pods in a different way and causes this glitch to vehicles that don't use their method i assume.

Gunny's pic: looks to me like someone tried to rearm a chopper and stripped off the proxies but didnt replace them, so they have default proxy weapons spamming the empty proxies.

maybe you used a rearming interface not meant for the chopper?

I'm still devving A2 stuff so not looked at these in detail.

I think the problem lies somewhere else.

Rocket pod proxies should not be replaced by anything else in my Hind (as in, they're just there like the landing gear or whatever), i assume they have defined the rocket pod proxies in CfgNonAiVehicles as well in order to replace them with something else.

Problem is, neither of us had the idea of changing names to their models and proxies so they are conflicting.

Just when i thought everything was fine.

yeah it's no biggie. should be easy to sort that out.

i've been looking at varanons CUP apache this week - and how the rockets work like missile proxies in A3 - nice idea but tough on the eyes to implement, esp. if you have up to 6x 19 or 20 round hydras /S8s to do (on harrier /hind etc).

Will be added with the next release.

There's still the problem textures are nowhere to be found and i can't open the DLC PBOs so i might have to ask a developer for them.

Maybe i'll throw in a desert texture for the ruski hinds too if i have some more spare time.

Yes.

@Chairborne

If you want ACR textures for Mi24 you can find it here - https://github.com/evromalarkey/ACR-Mod/tree/master/Source/opt/acr_a3_mi24_replacement/data

I got them from AIA SA ;)

Wow thanks!

When i have the time i'll throw them in.

Wouldn't it be possible to take the Advanced flight model cnofiguration from the Hinds-DLC from Take on Helicopters? Or even the SuperHind from the DLC?

Or will this cause some conflicts with the licenses?

I have no clue.

I don't even own TOH or any of the DLCs.

Who knows, maybe BIS will come around soon. ;)

I wanted to take a look at sling loading too but i can't seem to find any documentation whatsoever.
