Well what are memes about politicians if not (modern) caricatures?

If a person whose photo is used does feel okay with it - nobody will ban anything. BTW nothing was said about drawings.

So if there is no official lawsuit directly from a person who is on photo - nobody will care.

Caricatures have been de-facto banned in Russia even since Charlie Hebdo. Russian politicians believe 'offending the views of religious' is unacceptable.

Just like any caricatures that may offend LGBT, feminists, vegans are de-facto banned in Western countries. Can you imagine anything like Eddie Murphy's "Raw" show nowdays? Me - not.

Oh and here's official statement about closed exhibition from museum direction (in Russian).

critics of Putin is rusophobia in eyes of Russians, nice,

Critics of Russia in general for the things widely done by those who criticies is a bit unfair and hypocrite, don't you think?

edit:

i have spend today some time on Youtube to watch Russian clips from media

general feeling is they inform that USA and Nato want to invade Russia and presence of Nato forces in Nato countries (Baltic) they call a preparation to invade poor Russia

I may give you a number of examples of the same hysteria from Polish, Baltic and other sites made long before Crimean mess. Especially from Baltics, it's their paranoia (and good way to evade admitting of their own faults in economics in case of possible occupation) for several decades already. Unfortunately there's always a crowd of dumbs in every country and nation.

Sorry, I didn't realize being homosexual was a choice. But religious - oh no, they were born with it, we cannot judge them.

As for feminists and vegans, I'd like to see an example of this.

I wonder how would you feel if tomorrow Putin set up death camps across Russia? Would you justify it by saying North Korea has been getting away with human abuse since its inception over 50 years ago, it's only fair Putin can do the same?

Yes, sometimes being homosexual is a choice, unlike LGBT official ideology, untouchable in West just like communist one in USSR, says. But still I'd like to see any valuable amount of LGBT caricatures in Western press and media.

It's up to you to show me truly free nature of western media and provide me with examples of caricatures on feminism or veganism.

Sometimes? Dude, beeing gay or not is just as much a choice as I "choose" to prefer blondes and readheads. You can´t choose what you are attracted to.

During my early years in univercity I preferred blondes of slavic appearance. At the time of graduation I switched my taste to females of 'southern' (Caucasian) appearance, and my girlfriend and future wife is about half Turkish. On the other side I know many cases in our fashion and music industry when straight persons became gays for sake of shocking, especially in 90's when open homosexuality was rather new thing for the society. Now many of that persons dropped it and become straight again.

Yeah but see, you didn´t make a concious decision to switch your preferences. You didn´t suddenly wake up one morning and told yourself that from now on you will like the southern type. Preferences may change (and certainly there may be people who pretend to be something they are not) but it isn´t done conciously.

Do you also want to see caricatures over race or mental and physical invalids? Do you think it would be funny?

It's up to you to show me truly free nature of western media and provide me with examples of caricatures on feminism or veganism.

Quite on the contrary. I don't follow Western media a lot; but surely if a caricature on either of these things would have been outright banned (or the artist fired from job after his superior got a lot of flak from the public or the government) that would have made news everywhere.

"If a grandmother would have a dick - she would be a grandfather".© I don't see any reasons for them.

In case you didn't quite catch the comparison - understandable, all Putin apologists are like this - you justified ban on Russian caricatures by saying 'some things are banned in the West too'. So can you justify if Putin set up death camps by saying 'North Korea has them too'. It is not excuse, and you're purposefully changing the conversation to shift attention from Putin.

I wouldn't be surprised if you have a portrait of him in your home. It's a tradition for vatniks, but if they can afford it...

What? Why did you reach to that conclusion? I've seen a lot caricatures of feminist, LGBT, vegans, religion, immigration, and all kinds of stuff both in Western Europe and the US.

Check for instance the Spanish "El Jueves" (which is quite wide spread).

Not to talk about radio shows for instance in the US or in UK, they really take the freedom of speech to the limits...

Just some examples:

Remember about the submarine story last year when Russia was suspected and which was the biggest underwater hunt since the cold war in Sweden ? The Print & TV media did report in uproar "Sweden is hunting for a russian submarine"...and so on...

'Submarine' in Sweden was only civilian boat

On October 31st 2014, retired naval officer Sven Olof Kviman snapped a picture of what looked like a 20-30 metre long, black submarine in waters just outside Lidingö in Stockholm. The incident has remained unconfirmed, but has been classed by the military as a “potential†submarine.

But Rear Admiral Anders Grenstad has now told Swedish newspapers that the Armed Forces reported to the Swedish government last Wednesday that the suspected underwater vessel was in fact only a civilian “working boatâ€.

“The analysis has shown that the photograph taken in Stockholm's inner archipelago was of a smaller boat,†Grenstad told Dagens Nyheter on Monday.

According to Grenstad, the picture instead showed the boat “Time Banditâ€, a 10.5 metre long, white plastic boat. But the boatman using the vessel on October 31st claimed the Swedish military had not been in contact with him.

UPDATED: A suspected submarine spotted in the Stockholm archipelago a week after Sweden's extensive hunt for Russian underwater vessels last autumn was only a civilian boat, Sweden's Armed Forces have now said. But they remain convinced that the first sighting was a small foreign sub.

It's logical.

First Sweden is not a NATO member and Kaliningrad it's just a few hundred kms from Öland's coast (260 km aprox). And Russia has enough forces in Kaliningrad to invade the Scandinavian countries.

Second Russia has been invading and annexing its neighbors these last decades ( Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, etc. ).

Third Russia's ships and planes have been invading different national air spaces and attacking ships (for instance a Russian bomber flew a dozen kms from the city where I live, far inside Finland's national air space ).

Forth Putin has shown that he lies more than talks... He has already proven a lot of times.

So if your neighbor is a big bully without control, there's plenty of reasons to be paranoid.

Indeed. So much for the Western Europe censorship. All that he's trying to justify is homophobia and xenophobia, wonderful values. Putin's supporters simply have no the single clue of what Human Rights values are, which is quite understandable considering their political systems for the last centuries...slavery under the Czarist system, submission under the bolchevick system, PanRussianism nationalism under Putin...

Russian senators have just declared their earnings for 2014. Just to remind you, as a representative of the government it is illegal to have any offshore business or company outside of Russia and any property has to be declared in a financial report.

The richest senator earned over 363.5 million rubles (7 million USD). The senator with the largest amounts of real estate comes from Ivanovskaya Oblast - 61 (!!!!) registered real estate in and out of the country.

The senator from the Stavropol' Krai had the largest collection of cars - 19, including 7 trucks, 7 GAZ and 4 Mercedes. The senator from the Kursk Oblast had a lesser, but more varied collection - 15 cars, out of those - 3 Bentleys, 3 motorcycles, two Mercedes, and a large amount of rare retro cars from the 50's-60's.

Almost all senators have property outside of Russia. The senators from Kursk', Sahalin and Ryazan regions all have a house and vast amount of land in Italy. Krasnoyar senator - Switzerland, Omsk senator - France, Chukotka - two houses in France. The representative from Primorsk Krai owns two houses in the US - 20 thousand and 1.2 thousand squared meters - in fact, the only property he has in Russia is a car. There was also registered property in Monaco, UK and Spain for other senators.

These are the same people who claimed that Europe is pushing gay values, that the West is a corrupt and failing institution, and pushed a number of resolutions, such as banning Russian kids from being adopted by American couples.

Meanwhile: dances around 70th anniversary of WWII Soviet victory continues...

"Night Wolves", a favourite Putin's motorcycle club, will honor the anniversary by a rally from Russia to Germany through Poland

- Announcing motorcycle rally by Russian group "Night Wolves" through Poland I treat as exceptional provocation - Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz said. Passing on the route Moscow-Berlin nationalist motorcycle club wants to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Soviet victory over the Third Reich.
Asked, whether the authorities will be blocking the passage of motorcyclists, Poland Prime Minister said that "the final decision on the matter will take a customs official."

- Both the Foreign Minister and Parliament Speaker Interior Minister Teresa Piotrowska will inform me at the end of the week, what is a decision on this matter and we have the level of knowledge - she said. - If the riders' passage will put at risk in any area our security and possibly expose Poles in any distress, then that' for this we have a law to use it - she added.

"Night Wolves" is a nationalist motorcycle club who is friendly with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Supported the annexation of the Crimea by Russia and the Kremlin policy towards Ukraine. Team leader Aleksandr Załdostanow "Surgeon" is on the US list of forbidding him entry into the country.
A few days ago, former Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Kowal said on TVN 24 that Poland should not accept the , "Night Wolves'" rally. - It's about the symbolic violence, from which real violence begins. It's such toying with Poland, where Poland should clearly show, it sees this trend and do not allows it to continue.

Polish Katyn Rally representative says, Poland should allow "Night Wolves" for the passage and suggesting so Katyn Rally memebers may escort Night Wolves through the country

Motorcyclists from Russian club "Night Wolves" despite protests intend to pass through our country. On the internet circulates petition against letting them into Poland due to their support the imperialist policy of Vladimir Putin and nationalist views. Despite the political involvement of Russians, Polish motorcycle riders club, who, among others, are organizing Katyn Rally, they believe that to be allowed to run. - The initiative is patriotic. We shall not bock it - says Leszek Rysak of the board of the International Motorcycle Rally Katyn.
I treat this initiative as a purely historical and patriotic. Should be allowed to drive - says to WP Leszek Rysak of the board of the International Motorcycle Rally Katyn.

And he adds that men in Russia support Plish motorcyclists. - Every year we organize Katyn rally and have never had any problems. What's more, the Russians are helping us. This is the part of local authorities, there were some minor obstacles - says Rysak.

Russian bikers threaten that will not remain indifferent to the taunts. - If they attack us hooligans, it will be handled as di... like hooligans - in Radio Svoboda said Andrei Bobrowski, one of the organizer of the journey "Night Wolves". A Aleksandr Załdostanow claims that "their actions certainly will be not liked by the descendants of those Poles who were police officers and supervisors in the Jewish ghettos".

Russian car rally also will run through the Poland

car rally on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Soviet victory over the Third Reich will conduct operating within the structures of the Russian Ministry of Defense organization DOSAAF (Voluntary Service Society of Army, Air Force and Navy). Its route will lead, among others through Warsaw.

Don't know about car rally, but motorcycle one is 30-40 person expected. IMHO chance for some incidents are real, a bit smaller if police and/or Katyn rally motorcyclist will excort them. Anyway, IMHO again Putin counts on some incidents (that's the purpose of provocations), while official reason is half-excuse. They probably need Polish hostility toward inititiative officialy bounded with 70th anniversary to use it as propaganda fuel against Poland. Will anything happend or not, they'll use it for such purpose somehow though.

One in a playful mood may ask, when we'll see Russian "tank rally" through the Poland BTW...

Also for better situational context:

Day of the Victory stays

Not on 9 May, but a day before Poland will celebrate the end of World War II. Club PO filed a bill ending the dispute on this issue between the PiS and SLD - learned rp.pl websites
The dispute over the history erupted at the end of 2014 years. Law on the abolition of Bierut Decree, establishing 9 May as the National Day of Victory and Freedom was proposed by club PiS. According to members of the party the end of World War II did not mean freedom for our country. - German extermination was replaced by the Soviet concentration camps, gulags. The heroes of the struggle for freedom during the Second World War were afterwards murdered by the Soviets or by local collaborators - said Zbigniew Girzynski PiS.
An amendment to this bill declared SLD club. SLD wanted to remove from the name "and Freedom" and the date moved to May 8. This day celebrates the end of the war the whole Western Europe. The reason? In May 1945, the cessation of hostilities took place at exactly 23.01. Due to the time difference in Moscow was after midnight. - If PiS project would be adopted, Poland would have no holidays as the only country of the Allied coalition - emphasized Mr Tadeusz Iwinski from SLD.

IMHO indeed Poland has not much to celebrate either 9th nor 8th May and they should take away also "Victory" word, as Poland, despite fighting against Germans from the very beginning, de facto abandoned by western "allies" (and attacked from behind by USSR collaborating with Nazis at that time), till the end, more lost than won, whole Poland's efforts and bloodshed across many WW2 fronts intentionally forgotten and the country left by Churchill and Roosevelt to the Stalin's "mercy", all for geopolitical reasons.

Not worth of all the hassle if you ask me.

IMO They should be allowed to travel on the same rule as other people. If they try carry provocative flags or something that is forbidden by the law or lacking proper documents - it should be confiscated (for their safety) and suspicious members not allowed to pass.

Simple, but I'd not be surprised if they get a police escort. This won't be necessary if they keep their behavior in polite and respectful manner and without the presence of stupid and provocative banners like "this is Russia", similar to the one that sparkled the fights during Euro 2012.

Please remember how our police is oppressively regular treating people that come to patriotic rallies, football games, protests. They can confiscate whatever they want (and whatever they are told to confiscate) and keep you grounded for many hours. You don't have to be a hooligan and your flag doesn't have to carry political slogans to receive such "treatment".

praising/promoting communism is forbidden by law as praising nazism (Third Reich, Hitler)

so in case they use Soviet symbols or Stalin portrait -they should be arrested as if they were using Third Reich flag or Hitler portraits

and 8/9 th May is not day of victory -

it is day of end of war with Germany, but war lasted till 1947 when Commies were fighting our patriotic underground

war in PL not ended with May 1945, there were many firefights till late 1947 (heavy firefights, firefights during confiscation of land , farms, buildings, property), simply commies were shooting with people who wanted to return to Poland from 1939 (capitalistic)

for decades of "socialism" noone taught in schools about late 40s, but in fact war not ended for us in May 1945, it lasted ca 2 years more as civil war patriots vs commies from USSR, owners of property vs confiscators of property who wanted to build state-own communist farms, etc.

so from Polish point of view WW2 not ended with moment of Hitler death or capitulation of Third Reich

many people from west do not know we had civil war after WW2 , communism support in society was not big, so new system was not welcomed by majority of society and it was rather brought by NKVD by force till those who were fighting against were killed

i do not know what could be a date of end of WW2 for Poland

WW2 has consequences till today and hard to say when it ended, even today we facing problems of property confiscation , some people face Germans returning to property which was German in 1939, some face with Jews returning to property which was bombed by Luftwaffe for which German taxpayer paid already, children of commies who came in 1944 nowadays are judges, lawyers, bank directors,

patriots who fought for independent free market Poland in 40s are in ground

so for us this date of 8th or 9th May is not that important, yes, Hitler was evil guy, but after 1945 many people also fought for example for property which commies wanted to turn into "kolhoz"

difference between Stalin and Hitler was that Hitler wanted to eliminate all non-Germans at least Stalin was not planning to kill us all

I don't know. Corruption in Russian military is harsh. Last year (2014), Russia ordered 4 nuclear submarines. Defense Minister said 2 was delivered. Putin claimed just one. They also ordered three battalions of rockets (27 ICBMs), but less than one (5 ICBMs) was delivered. Considering that the only budget that increased in 2015 is the military (by 33%, no less), I think it says a lot about the Russian administraiton.

If something like this happened in the US, and especially Europe, the people would get very upset. At the very least, there'd be a journalist investigation and reprecussions from the administration.
