LordJarhead 1725 Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) Hello guys. Today I open this thread for the new library I plan to have integrated in JSRS-Studios. As more and more mod makers for models, weapons and vehicles and what not, come to ask me for sound effects, I figured it would be a nice attribution towards the ArmA-Community and others, to have a open and free library of sound effects the mod makers and others can choose their sounds from. Within this library I have certain effects that I've created over time for ArmA, JSRS-Mods and other works, mods and games. Those effects can be taken/donwloaded from the library and used under stating the legitimate source of JSRS-Studios within the credits. Even if those sounds are fully free for download, I am still the legitimate author/creator of these sounds. The library is quiet small right now but will grow over time as I can spend more time and effort into this library. Currently, I have implemented certain sets of standard effects but will update the library further along the way. I will add more sounds from JSRS1.5 and JSRS2.2. Older sounds like from JSRS1.5 for ArmA2+OA will be updated to stereo. Also, more sounds will be created randomly for different kinds of weapons. Standard sounds like "Rifle1" or "AssaultRifle1" or "A pistol 9mm" and so on will be there as well. The website is online: JSRS-Studios and the Library can be found under JSRS-Studios Download Area. The current library contains following sounds: UPDATE 14. November 2014 Pistols: Walther P99 MP-443 Grach ACP-C2 FN FNP-45 Chiappa Rhino 60DS SMGs: CZ Scorpion Evo 3 A1 ST Kinetics CPW TDI Vector Rifles: Kel-Tec RFB Carbine FN FS2000 IMI Tavor TAR-21 DIO KH2002 Sama MGs: Knight's Armament Company Light Machine Gun IMI Negev NG7 LongRifles: Mk 14 Mod 0 Enhanced Battle Rifle Izhmash VS-121 SniperRifles: Gepard GM6 Lynx CheyTac M200 AK family AK47 Set1 AK74 Set1 AK74U Set1 Grenadelauncher GP25 Launcher M4 and M16 family M4 Set1 M16 Set1 MGs M240 Set1 M249 Set1 MK48 Set1 PKM Set1 RPK Set1 MPs MP5 Set1 Pistols M9 Pistol Set1 Makarov Set1 USP45 Set1 Rifles HK416 Sounds Sniper Rifles M24 Set1 KSVK Set1 M107 Set SVD Set1 I will update the library over time as stated. Right now it contains just some old basic sounds. But take a look if you like :) I'd be happy about any feedback. LJ This library is not a full time job, still it requires a lot of effort to create and provide those sounds to you, the customers and users. If you want to support me filling and growing this library, you can always spent a kind donation towards JSRS-Studios. Any kind of support will be greatly appreciated! Donate Besides that, you can always order special sound effects for your work, model or mod. I'm whiling to help you out as much as I can. For all the other JSRS-Fans out there: This project wont affect JSRS-DragonFyre at all, it wont delay any release or update on that one ;) Thanks for listening, I hope you like the idea. During today we will be uploading the new webpage with all the new stuff, library and informations. I'd be happy to see you around there :) Any kind of criticism or feedback/suggestions is welcome either! Thank you, LJ THIS THREAD WILL BE UPDATED AS SOON AS THE WEBSITE IS ONLINE! Redphoenix 1540 Posted November 11, 2014 HA! Now I don't have to beg you for making sounds for me, I cna just look into the library. Possibly the greatest idea so far.
giorgygr 61 Posted November 11, 2014 The most important question i think is: Every sound will be supported by modern JSRS scripts? i.e. I create a weapon+using sounds from your bank+using modern JSRS mod editions (2.2 or DF) Will the older sound collaborate with new scripts? ^^

With given Credits of course :P The most important question i think is:Every sound will be supported by modern JSRS scripts? i.e. I create a weapon+using sounds from your bank+using modern JSRS mod editions (2.2 or DF) Will the older sound collaborate with new scripts? ^^ Those sounds work apart from JSRS 2.2 and DFyre. If you want your mod be compatible with JSRS 2.2/DFyre you would have to make changes in your CFG file anyways, apart from the sounds you use :) Those are just some base/core sounds to use in your mod so you dont have to use Vanilla sounds or what ever :) LJ

Redphoenix 1540 Posted November 11, 2014 With given Credits of course :PLJ I'm a little dissapointed you think of me like this :( No, joking. I always give credit. It's a perfect way of showing appreciation to many many other people actually doing the important stuff :D

It's a perfect way of showing appreciation to many many other people actually doing the important stuff :D I'm not thinking of you this way :P I'd like to support, giving credits would be the least thing to ask for, right? :) I hope this will help some people with their mods. Even if the sound seems still be unregarded in many places. LJ

miketim 20 Posted November 11, 2014 LJ, many thanks for giving this to the community, I will check this out for sure. If I may speculate bluntly, was a strong motivator for this also to get people to stop bugging you for your sounds? :D
LordJarhead 1725 Posted November 11, 2014 LJ, many thanks for giving this to the community, I will check this out for sure.If I may speculate bluntly, was a strong motivator for this also to get people to stop bugging you for your sounds? :D No, a motivator was to spread my secret trojan-like codes inside the sounds files on all computers around the world so I can start taking over control ... :P No joking, to be honest its more like having a "standard" around the mods. As more and more come to ask for sounds, even some users of mods asking for replacements, not only the mod makers. So I think there are many mod makers out there that just dont came to the idea of asking for sounds, for what ever kinda reason. This way, they just have the possibilities :) In other ways, this is more like a way to say thanks for all the great years I'm around now :) LJ

fabio_chavez 103 Posted November 11, 2014 Hey LordJarhead, i recently tested the jsrs implementation in the @CUP weapons and noticed that the "canned" 2d reverbs in the samples are compromising compability to procedural spatial sound mods like @LS_ES etc i guess there is no chance that you still have the clean samples without artifical reverb and echos? best regards, fabio

But to answer your question: The JSRS sounds were not made to work with L_ES. No I dont. ;) LJ

No I dont. ;) LJ the question is concerning your sound library i assume and i am aware that the sounds you made years ago are not meant to work with a mod that was released only recently, thanks for your quick reply. LordJarhead 1725 Posted November 11, 2014 the question is concerning your sound library i assume and i am aware that the sounds you made years ago are not meant to work with a mod that was released only recently Exactly! Ok guys, the website is online: JSRS-Studios The Library can be found under JSRS-Studios Download Area I will update the library over time as stated. Right now it contains just some old basic sounds. miketim 20 Posted November 12, 2014 Are we allowed to modify these sounds or mix them with other ones (Dont know the proper term, but I think you know what i mean by mix) as long as we give you credit? Also maybe you can give us a "boilerplate", like, "credit to jarhead" sentence that we can copy paste.
LordJarhead 1725 Posted November 12, 2014 Are we allowed to modify these sounds or mix them with other ones (Dont know the proper term, but I think you know what i mean by mix)as long as we give you credit? Also maybe you can give us a "boilerplate", like, "credit to jarhead" sentence that we can copy paste. If the sounds are merged with other sounds from the library only, then yes, you can. Because if you use other sources, I dont have copyrights in them, as I'm not the author any longer. So you are not allowed Tod mix those effects with sounds that does not belong to the library. I think everyone can understand that. I will create a proper license oft some sort today. "Credits to LordJarhead, JSRS-Studios.com" would be the best.
