bracer 12 Posted October 26, 2014 Hey! I have this problem where the shadow disappears whenever I face away from the building. Any idea what might cause this?
m1lkm8n 410 Posted October 26, 2014 its might be too big an object whats the dimentions?
bracer 12 Posted October 26, 2014 Approximatly 45x25x30. It's like the shadowLod gets occluded when it's out of your FOV.
m1lkm8n 410 Posted October 26, 2014 Yea I was thinking that too. Do u have two shadow lods? I think a 0 and a 10? 0 being the most detailed 10 being less detailed. at some point the less detailed shadow lod is used, usually when u get farther away but maybe it kicks in when your not looking directly at the building as well? bracer 12 Posted October 26, 2014 Yes, I tried adding one now... No luck! The shadowLod is a simple square that I sharpened and triangalized. In GeoLod I added sbsource = shadowVolume
x3kj 1247 Posted October 28, 2014 in your visible LODs, do you have lodnoshadow = 1 ?
Barotall 10 Posted November 11, 2014 Sadly i had this issue before and it's caused by how arma renders stuff... when your not looking at a object it disappers... i think bis added it to save CPU but its gets kinda of old... and the best thing to do in this cause is do the lodnoshadow = 1 this is what mine looks like for a vehicles... http://gyazo.com/a7589ef0b5ef7a2d9515ca2032bb728e
x3kj 1247 Posted November 12, 2014 why do you put all the named properties in there if you dont use them? Some named properties will cause damage if you use them on the wrong LOD. Every visible LOD with more then ~ 300 faces should have lodnoshadow https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Named_Properties
