All in Arma Terrain Pack (AiA TP) - A1/A2/OA terrains from BI in A3

seems like good news, maybe that was the issue behind the random crashes when using AiA TP? :O

Sorry for repeating myself, but I think this issue keeps getting missed :)

I've now gotten the PVP Scene Benchmark utility to run in A3 but getting black A3 screen. I've posted the result in respective thread.

Hi guys, I just tried out the AiA TP for the first time after using A3MP for so long on the Casual ArmA Players server. I do have a question though, because it seems like while pictures of the sky and sun look great in this thread, when I loaded up Chernarus and Takistan it always looked gloomy and stormy, even when I set it to 8-9 am and no overcast. Is this normal or a bug on my end?

I tried from 7am, 9am, 12pm, 4pm--they all look equally dreary and stormy and no matter where I go or wait, I never actually see the sun neither. So basically, this is what I see with my AiA TP compared to the obviously more lively and beautiful trailer. I don't get it and it has me rather stumped.

Are you using that lighting/sky fix mod for A3mp?

I just tried AiA TP after keeping it shelved for awhile and I have the same issue, no custom lighting/sky fix mods installed or anything like that.

EDIT: If you have @ascz_a2_map_fixes, make sure you remove the .pbo files for the maps you don't have. That fixed it for me.

thats definately not how its supposed to look, do you run the latest version and tried to run it without any extra mods?

update: i checked ASCZ A2 Map Fixes v1.2, it does mess around with weather related classes/with the way aia tp handles them.

Thanks for solving the mystery for me, guys! Sure enough, the damn repo had the ASCZ A2 Map Fixes as well, so there we go. Haha. I feel a bit stupid, but at least now I know where the issue was, so yay. :)

Since today's ArmA 3 update I'm getting this in the main menu (click-away error, not -showScriptErrors stuff):

WARNING: Used restricted combination of settings for "Land_Fuel_tank_big". Shape class == "house" and it has supply ability in a same time. Binarization of the map may provide unstable results and game can even crash when used.

Any chance this is AiA TP-related?

That is related to the crashes on switching maps. I'm sure the next AiA update will resolve it.

Removing Land_Fuel_tank_big's transportFuel value eliminated the error message and seemed to fix CTD from map switching, although I still got a crash on exit.

	class Land_Fuel_tank_big: Land_fuel_tank_small
{
	animated = 0;
	armor = 50;
	model = "\ca\misc\Fuel_tank_big.p3d";
	icon = "\Ca\misc\data\icons\i_fuel_CA.paa";
	displayName = "$STR_DN_FUEL_STATION";
	nameSound = "fuelstation";
	accuracy = 0.5;
	// transportFuel = 50000;    /*I think this line is causing problems */
	destrType = "DestructEngine";
};

Can confirm, no CTD on my end after I edited that line. :yay:

Great job, guys! Are there any plans to solve "armored windows" problem in Cherno's buildings?

I am getting "WARNING: Used restricted combination of settings for "Land_Fuel_tank_big". Shape class == "house" and it has supply ability in a same time. Binarization of the map may provide unstable results and game can even crash when used". Also, seems like pretty nice english from BI :P

Any idea why this happens?

It happens also when loading no mods except @allinarmaterrainpack.

It's a warning they put in the game after last patch and the reason why the game crashes when switching from one AiA map to another.

it's the same here.

this problem has already been found a few days ago with the dev branch and as is understood the posts here, the problem and the solution has already been found.

so my guess would be that it will be fixed in the next update (i don't think they will release a hotfix just for this issue).

edit: damn, too late :D

See previous posts. :P

I now freeze 10 seconds into a game, kill ArmA3 in task manager, restart and then it's fine for a while until it happens again. At least I can load different terrains now.

Short heads-up

I was hoping to get the update out on Tuesday/Yesterday, but I wasn't able to make it.

Let's see if today will work out. :o

PS: Please complain to BI for making this an on-screen error instead of just logging it to rpt.

I'm happy they did this way. There was clearly a message behind it.

Since latest patch i keep getting "mapSize param not defined for 'xxx-aia-terrain'" when trying to use bis functions like bis_fnc_randomPos.

I'm happy they did this way. There was clearly a message behind it.

The clear message behind it is that it requires an endless cycle of test->note object name->fix->repack->reload game->test cycle. Packing a mod of this size takes a while, and having all affected objects in the RPT file would clearly be better than having a single problem at a time drip-fed to you.

So bottom line you might be happy, but the people that need to fix it aren't :P

Well, BI's functions take too many things for granted. Scripters know better.

The people that need to fix it can't blame BI anymore, and have to fix it now. That's what makes me happy. But, I agree with you that it should also be logged to the RPT, one thing is to say "I told you so", but "Have fun fixing it" was unnecessary :).
