All in Arma Terrain Pack (AiA TP) - A1/A2/OA terrains from BI in A3

Or maybe re-phrasing: is it possible to have both A3MP+A2MP_AM+AiA TP? Keeping AiA TP at last on modline (for gamelaunchers) would make it ovewrite A3MP but sitll keeping old missions working?

they will as long as the map classnames stay the same, i learned that when i used the original AIA and switched to A3MP, my missions were still there

FYI missions "know" their map by the .mapname at the end of the file, objects are just placed on xyz values in a text file pretty much...

So is this a standalone thing like a3mp that adds maps to your game, with 0 requirements? I am not at a comp now and just want to confirm, to me it wasn't clear in the initial post.

You are correct. This is standalone, with all maps included already. Only requirement is CBA A3.

Just gave some A1 community-made maps a spin (Afghan Village, Avgani, Razani) and although they could use some attention, seemed to work fine for the most part. Going to have a great time running through all the old maps from A1 and A2, seeing what works, and enjoying those old memories. Thanks again for this excellent release, kju! :yay:

Just hoping this will be well supported, I know it sucks to upload so much, but gotta fix the bugs.

Also not at comp so can't test this anyway ATM

Any "advantages over a3mp so far?

Can I run arma 1 maps without arma 1?

Yes, this pack includes the default A1 maps already, but you can still download A1 or A2 maps and be able to play them with this, without having A1 or A2 installed. Not all community-made maps are compatible, and some tend to crash, but from the testing I've done...seems the majority of them work.

As far as A3MP is concerned, I can't comment too much on it since, even though I've had it installed for awhile now, haven't really messed around on the maps that much. But from what's been posted, and what I've seen myself with this pack, seems to be a good replacement over A3MP. My concern is the same as yours though, and I guess it will all boil down to which is better supported in the end.

Ok sorry my ipad had been glitch in text and pixelating stuff , lol .svg text system

Now half of the post is appeared, I get it.

Anyone know if the ponds on beketov map are still glitches, or if this fix helps them? Since beketov was compeletley fucked with the waterline bug on a3mp

Not sure about that particular map but on the Aliabad Region map the waterline bug is still present like its always been :(

all maps with that pond bug will probably still have it, its the map not the mod, it used a pond model which wasnt made for A3 so it wont work properly

You might want to wait for kju's professional response but I'm certain that you can. That's what Lite versions are mostly for, and this is how it worked on kju's previous releases, for example - IF mod in Arma 2.

I recommend the torrent-download. I downloaded with ~3mb/s and there are ~25 seeders at present.

Will F.A.T.A. and Isola Di Capraia find their way into the Terrain Pack too? Or maybe someone already tested these maps with this mod and may share experience?

Fata and Capriai will work fine. For Fata you will need to use the A3 version, to eliminate the ponds waterline bug. However you need to manually load that as PW6 will call up A3MP as a dependency - which for obvious reasons won't work - I've sent a ticket into Pw6 to see if we can do something about the dependency system, at the moment it's too restrictive.

The key visual improvement I've seen (as someone who has tested just about every map in A3MP and built missions on a good many of them) is that the material physics is much improved. e.g. shoot a window and you will shoot the glass out, shoot a tree and it will splinter, shoot a rock and it pings off. A small fix but much more immersive.

Secondly A3mp was very much a quick win fix. It spits literally Shiite loads of RPT errors out, which, actually are just not acceptable anymore within my unit as we're looking for 100% stable and bug free mods now - too much blood sweat and tears wasted on operations ruined by crappy mod bug checking that causes a dedicated to fall over or kick all the clients.

Note that Rayhard has a fix you can apply to A3mp but it's another very large download. So with this pack you get it all in one and MOST IMPORTANT of all. It's most likely to be supported - improved and made better! Whereas A3MP has been static since just about 10th March 2014. With no hope of improvment in sight.

A3MP made this game playable for us as Altis and Stratis get very boring after a week or two, but in reality most of the code in that was derived from AiA anyway so it's just really good to see a fully supported version being released by Kju and friends.

This comes pre-installed with the following maps -

Rahmadi

Sahrani

Southern Sahrani

United Sahrani

Porto

Utes

Chernarus

Desert

Takistan

Zargabad

Shapur

Proving Grounds

Bukovina

Bystrica

Takistan Mountains

All the rest you would need to download and install yourself. I just copied them in mass from my Arma 2 folder - and bingo A3 see's them all tickety boo. Just remember some maps, Like IceBreakers Lingor will not work, but 95% of the rest of them are perfect :-) Enjoy !

Lingor is not a BIS released map which this mod would cover, it is a custom map released by a third party author (Icebreakr I think) so it would not be included here.

I know that Lingor is a mod map (I even wrote that)

But serjames said that Lingor would not work with this pack, but other mod maps would.

So why not Lingor?

DarkJedi you need to read the original post again. This mod COMES with all the Bis maps, but ALLOWs you to use the rest of the community made maps too.. So did A3MP... you've been missing out if you missed that ! :-)

Why lingor won't work - I don't 100% know. Icebreaker's maps are probably configured differently in some way.

fear not he's working on a re-releasing them with some A3 loving...

I would say after testing a little bit, I intend to choose AiA TP over A3MP, without having seen the flood of RPT errors caused by A3MP and mentioned by serjames.

Although I have to admit, that I only tested the differences on F.A.T.A. and Isola Di Capraia. But here are some things I was able to notice.

Using F.A.T.A. with AiA TP, I didn't get a single error message in the editor's surface and only 2 error messages in game.

At grid 051053 and 055042 there are two (atmospheric) HMMWV wrecks, which cause the following minor errors:

Is there a possibility, that AiA TP could take care of this little issues? :)

For F.A.T.A. it's only a texture that is missing if I'm not mistaken.

And for Capraia it's the red tractor :D

And I guess some russian items (vest, helmet, equipment?!?) I don't know what exactly.

Would be awesome to see that fixed, but anyways thanks for the great work! :)
