ASCZ A2 Community Map Fixes (for AIA TP/SA)

@Nickobus that's weird, I didn't get this kind of error. Are you sure that you're launching it with AIA TP or A3MP? Also Aliabad is unplayable in A3 at this time, there is this nasty pond waterline bug.

Thanks for the response. I'm running it as a seperate mod along with A3MP. Ah, shame about the bug, I assumed it worked due to it being listed haha as I tried Caribou Frontier and works like a charm.

I am not sure about the missing sound config. I get the message too. Are you sure you have your logs turned on when you check?

The waterline is a problem with Ponds that were not replaced in A3MP inside A3MP_Structures2_Data, and A3MP_Structures3_Data. I informed Alduric of this a few months ago and all he had to say was arguing that I was wrong, though actually fixing it myself proved I am correct. I'm not sure what to do about it other than create a patch that replaces those pond .P3D files inside the Misc folders with a blank one and overwriting Alduric's PBOs as a dependency until he is willing to admit there is a problem and correct it. I might just do that and release it if it won't cause any problems within the community or break any rules.

@James_Manring If you found a way how to fix the ponds on other maps, you should rather inform kju and this could be integrated into AIA TP

I'm pretty sure kju already knows. It is ArmA2 ponds found in those two PBOs in A3MP under the Misc folder. If he hasn't fixed it yet it just means they both have missed a few ponds that were not in a subdirectory they thought to peek through.

I did some comparing of configs. It appears your fix for Aliabad removes Takistan as a parent class for the map. That removes the CfgSounds that it used to inherit from Takistan, thus presenting the error.

Try adding this to the MCN_Aliabad class.

btw: when using map "Miroslavl" it adds a couple of A2 windows into the Interface of Arma3. When someone knows how to avoid it would be great to write it down here :)

Sorry, I didn't checked all the maps from the list yet. It seems that Miroslavl has ui config in miroslavl.pbo in ca/data, this problems have people even in OA.. lol. I can fix it, but honestly I'm thinking about excluding it from the list, this map is just poorly made.

Please fix it, i just take a flight on Miroslavl and i liked it, and its not easy to find "larger" maps with almost no issues. Miroslavl is a big map, no pond waterbug, it would be great if you could fix it :)

I'm afraid that there is nothing I can do with the UI, the author literally taked ui config from A2 and made it part of his mod.. only thing you can do is manualy delete the config from the pbo.

Yeah I've seen that map too (this one has CTD in A3 :D). But this miroslavl map is just.. lets say, bad made. The author is using all models and ca stuff (including ui) from Arma 2 which is totally wrong done. The map itself ingame is alright, but the way it's done is bad.

With latest AIA TP release, most of community A2 maps have now fixed missing objects and textures stuff, including ponds and waterline bug (not case of clafghan, because it's using own ponds). But Aliabad is now working fine, so in the next update it will not be in the opt folder. From now on, this mod is done mainly for AIA TP support, not for A3MP.

So if by any chance are moderators reading this, could you change the name of this thread to ASCZ A2 Community Map Fixes (for AIA TP/AIA)? Thanks.

The in my opinion very cool map "Napf" also gets this Pond when using a Helo or Jet. when didnt use Aircrafts the Pond wont show up ^^

A lot of the waterlines do not appear unless you are above them in altitude. You'll notice on Gulf of Aqaba that there are some fountains that only glitch out when you are above ground level too.

As for Miroslavl, you should be able to make configs that replace the configs inside in an addon mod with versions that blank out the changes. That would not require people to start opening and rebuilding mods. Hopefully it can be done without messing up ArmA2 stuff as the folder structure isn't the same.

Just a heads up, Faysh Khabur Iraq CTD when you try to access the central part of the map, at least. I thought it worked but either flying above it or starting on the ground in that area CTD. Could you do something maybe? I think that map is unique because of the distances between places. You really feel isolated and on your own after the helis go :)

Additional Info:

We are using AiA 2014-09-07 version with ASCZ A2 Map Fixes 1.1 and Maps Sangin (1.3), Clafghan (1.1 Beta), Aliabad (1.1), Fallujah (1.2), Namalsk Lite (1.15)

I believe there were three overlapping pbos (buildings.pbo, opxbuildings.pbo, opxmisc.pbo? not sure) or so when using those mods together, maybe something went agast there.

Any chance for "merged" pbos that will support most maps? :D

EDIT: Never mind, found the Hotfix on page 50 something in the AiA Thread. -.-

These bad boys are comming in next update, some of them will be with A3 Grass. Thanks for the help CameronMcDonald ;)

Fata is one map that needs alot of care. Its probably not possible to fix unless the author does it, but the ambient sounds are all messed up. Would be a dream come true if that was fixed.

Just curious, but why the requirement for only AiA Terrain Pack and not either AiATP or A3 Map Pack?
