Are we at the brink of World War III?

Recommended Posts

Nope, WW3 will not come from a US / Russia confrontation, but most probably from a major conflict in middle East, or in Asia, because of the will of China to become a great sea power.

Yah, the ME is a tinder box and I'm surprised there hasn't been a larger conflict there before now.

We're due for a large scale conflict, there is no doubt about that, but those of you thinking you are going to live out some kind of half assed Metro 2033 fantasy are going to be waiting a long time ;)

IMHO the Bankers and the Industrial Military complex are itching for war because they are the ones that gain from it the most.

Watch the American Politicians Senate, Congress . . . the most part of them are warmongers because they do the bidding to their masters. The US and Nato are constantly violating International law.

Some say ''they'' got enough money already and any other war is purely demonstration of being in power and the decision & faith calling is what's it about

The propaganda machine is in full swing on both sides and it's up to us to figure out who is lying and who not. You can't trust any politician especially not Americans. They are lying through their teeth every time they open their mouth. Wikileaks cables have proven what American diplomats think about their so called allies.

Its actually scary how US congressman J. Kerry is openly supportive of scenario where it would come to US vs Russia ( youtube ) and I also agree that Nato or UN is influentially powerless against the world power/s

IMHO WW III will start as soon as our financial system collapses, maybe even before, in order to disguise the people from the financial meltdown.

From various sources that I've seen it almost looks like that the US is getting ready for a large scale civil unrest for some time now - riot shields, ban/limit of arms, automatic rifles for police as well police being trained ''military style''. However I don't live in US so my perception might be wrong but then again it's no longer secret that the world will sooner or later move to a single currency...

From my understanding if Iran were to be attacked ( by Israel, US or anyone else ) Russia would be forced to act, as well China, eventually and I think the US were looking at some point at Iran to bring them some freedom aside from syria, Iraq and others

The "militarized police" and efforts to restrict firearm ownership is a direct result of the culture of fear that came about with the 9/11 attacks and was strengthened by recent events such as the Sandy Hook shooting or the Boston bombing. I don't see it as part of a concerted government effort to restrict personal liberties, but more of a knee-jerk reaction to recent events.

Politicians don't like being seen as soft on violence and terrorism, so giving police a blank check to acquire military equipment or banning certain firearms is a quick and easy way to gain votes. It's an unfortunate aspect of any republican (as in, of a republic, not the Republican party) system that somebody ends up getting thrown under the bus by politicians, but that's the way it is. It happened to German-Americans in WWI, it happened to Japanese-Americans in WWII, it happened to communists in the 1950s, etc.

That culture of fear has more to do with the security companies revenue.

Basically the more scared the people are the more military training and stuff they can sell to Police Depts and so on. There's no need, no use and it's even counter-productive to have so many SWAT teams and many heavily armed people, after all the more people you provide heavy stuff less control and less discipline. As more people are armed, more possibility that someone goes nuts and provoke a killing.

It's better to have a few, well trained and controlled with strict periodic psychologic controls as most of the western countries do.

About the weapons restrictions, more of the same. It's just common sense to make more strict controls to avoid crazy or potentially dangerous people to have weapons. Besides that there is not much point in having weapons like assault rifles at home.

And yeah crazy people may use a knife, but its way more difficult to kill people with a knife than with an assault rifle. But crazy people can make bombs, that's why possible bomb materials are also restricted and controlled, besides that to make a bomb you need time for the preparation, while most of the killings are done by people who temporally lose their minds.

So no, there is no preparation for a big unrest. Besides that if it that big unrest would happen, people would assault military bases and Police depts to take weapons.

Indeed, the population is constantly being told x are going to attack, x virus will kill you, if you eat x you'll get sick.

The population at large is controlled by fear but if you look at history, the vast majority of it is establishment fabricated hysteria.

I'd say we have a better chance of Alien Capital ships over our major cities (a la Independence Day) than we do of a 'The Day After' scenario.

one thing is for sure europe won't be the battlefield this time...but like NodUnit says, more like Cold War 2 then anything else.

kinda feels the same when i was a kid in the 80's with the sovjet union and the us.

radical politicians swinging their dicks at eachother..this is orchestrated bs...with the threat of a looming cataclysmic war politicians will take more and more liberties from the people to exert more control by militarising the police, already happening in the states btw.

putin is doing it in russia, obama in the states and israel can continue doing their war crimes against civilians and radical muslims kill unopposed fellow muslims who have a different view on islam.

and europe is divided and looks like an idiot not managing to take a stance especially when the us is spying on allies.

american news is a vicious propaganda machine and will condemn anyone who criticises israel..russia, no different..go against putin, you are on the watchlist.

everyone has an agenda and it seems no one can be trusted..in this day and age right and wrong is a matter of opinion and your friends are the ones you buy and who agree with you.

it just seems to me that the only ones that cause problems are the ones who can't get enough money regardless what race or creed

I kind of agree. But more than Cold War 2, I think it's gonna be Cold War 2.0; because the great success of the Cold War was the isolation of the East powers, but now with the Internet people can interact, share photos videos, etc. It's true that Putin is trying to censor as much as he can, but he can't prevent all connections, for instance connections through satellite.

And I neither see him closing the borders.

It's gonna be an interesting time.

After the end of the Cold War the US hegenomy was strengthened and there was never really a situation where both russia and the US was a dream team. Some kind of semi cold war 2.0 did happen already after the fall of communist countries and the sovjetunion, this time not about a political ideology but rather about geopolitical, economical and military influence.

Fact is we have altogether so many worldwide conflicts like never before. No, I dont think we are at the brink of World War III but when it comes to Europe, I see possible problems in the future since especially the EU aswell the NATO have an expansive character.

problem is made in china, when all is made in china, natives (+ imigrants that come and have kids) will not have jobs in 2040, this cause civil war in Europe in 2040 or sooner (frustrated minorities, leaded by religious freaks will make more and more riots, cause they think that jobs are like flowers that they grow just like that), everyone want social care, benefits, etc. (fall of social care will cause riots of many people, will bring criminal activity on much bigger level)

this will make EU fall because we do not produce, all is made in China, and that region etc.

when it comes to that i think europe will become hardline and kick every non-european out in order to prevent social collapse...and will litterally exert a strong military presence and show it's teeth.

if history teaches anything is that when government fail to do something about the problem the people will dismantle the government with violence...just look at the rise of national-socialism and communism..those came into reality because of extreme circumstances and suffering people had to endure.

and it will happen again when spineless incompetent politicians and corporate leeches choose personal wealth instead of economic balance and peace..war and social unrest always means big money for the select few...if the people is not willing to see that then they're doomed to make that same mistake again and again

I think we are closer to mass civil wars. It seems like most places have their own important internal struggles rather than countries being at each others throats.

Oh yeah, those bad politicians we've voted for and those evilish corporations we're buying stuff from...

Then why don't we stop voting for and buying from them, hum ?

The main problem with the western world is the people can't stand the reflection in the mirror.

We have tons of beliefs but live by none of them.

We praise ourselves for our high ethics and yet we shit in drinkable water for which 3.4 millions people are dying every year.

We keep asking for lower prices from the same companies we're bashing for relocation/offshoring.

We complain about un-employement yet refuse to do a large array of works.

We sign online petitions for human rights on our made in China computers.

How dare we give lessons to anyone when our very own way of life is what is keeping the vast majority of the human population's heads underwater ?

Before asking for a change start to change yourself.

people buy cheapest cause they became poor - they became poor because of corporations who moved production to Asia,

since i earn more money than before (i work 2 times more, even 80h/a week and thus i have no time for addons) i am buying things made in Poland, made in EU, made in USA,

i could buy chair made in China for 50 USD in Jysk , but i bough chair for 200 USD made in Poland,

i could buy shirts for 30 USD made in China, but i bough 70 USD shirts from 5.11 (made in USA)

etc. etc. etc.

european modern "politically correct" leftiests say that "patiotism is odd and outdated" , damn them, we should be patriots and we should buy OURS - than OUR people have JOB, than they EARN money , they pay TAXes and all go round,

i am patriot, i look what i buy, i prefere give more money, but to buy ours, so than someone here has job ,

but in 2040 we really can have huge mess in EU, now many blind people do not foresee it, but hey:

- robots replace human in production/manufacturing,

- we sent production to Asian countries,

who the hell gonna work here, who the hell gonna pay taxes ? who the hell will give job to adults in 2035 who in 2014 are newborn ?

people who have no money and have no jobs - have nothing to lost, they are desperate,

Hitler was basing on, Jihadists basing on it, they took youth imigrants kids and tell them "you have no job cause evil White Christians do not want to give you job, allah akbar, they are racists, destroy them!!" (instead of saying "you have no job, cause all is made in China) - and we have violence in streets of western cities, which will be 10 times bigger in 2030, 2035,

we have less taxes for social care,

all is because our corporations gave production to China, now Chinese are rich, they buy cars, cameras, mobile phones, previously they lived like in XVII century, they now need resources and energy (they get it from Russia)

while we have more and more unemployment, some Polish cities which were big cities with 100-200 thousand people living with industry of fabric production, clothes production... now are half empty and those people clean streets in London, from Poland emigrated 6% of population (in country we have over dozen percent unemployment, along with emigrants it all would give > 20% unemployment) !!!!

Polish industry which was producing clothes, fabric, since all is made in China is almost dead, many workers who sewn shirts cannot find any job, cause noone sew shirts anymore here,

your industry which produce cars will be dead soon too , cause we have more and more cars from China, Korea, and those cars are better and cheaper with every year

major car in Polish police is KIA CEED, previously there were DAEWOO but at least those DEAWOO were mounted in Poland, now KIA is mounted in Korea,

the biggest Polish car manufacotry FSO, which was located near to my house IS DESTROYED< there is empty plaza, they plan make there block of flats,

the biggest car factory in my country is now empty plaza

Nowe_auta_FSO_jpg-seo.jpg

this was my neigborhood 10 years ago

this is now

http://images.photo.bikestats.eu/zdjecie,600,458935,20140215,kolejna-wyburzona-hala-fso.jpg (149 kB)

http://www.stadobaranow.pl/wp-content/gallery/kwasniaki_i_inne41/rb0_8836.jpg (366 kB)

the same with chemical industry, cosmetics industry, shirt industry, jeans/denim industry

people from that neiborhood moved to London , my 3 friends from my block of flats work in London, they are not happy there, they do not feel home, but they must eat something

in 2040 they will be fighting for place jobs there with competitors,

competition in itself forces fight, competition causes hate etc - than civil war is closer

It is noble that people try or are buying ''made in our home country'' but I believe this is temporary solution at best, unless the state is entirely self sufficient starting from all natural resources to a tooth brush. I think if people refused to buy made in china they would probably suddenly realize just how poor most of us are and we wouldn't be able to afford even such a thing as an smartphone. It's funny though, one would imagine that in the age of automatization where robots are saving the big bucks to companies most goods should be ridiculously affordable but no, I guess in big bucks businesses it works like this; if we don't make enough profit off of our buyers somebody else will since they haven't spend ALL their money with us yet and they don't want to make that mistake. I actually even wonder whether big buck corporation still keep human employees for some sort of tax relieves or as an insurance of getting a bailout if market suddenly change course? Not a businessman yet, so unsure how this works in different countries.

Maybe I should get into farming and become a wheat & flour dealer which may soon become a very premium product eh

people buy cheapest cause they became poor - they became poor because of corporations who moved production to Asia,

What's happenning in eastern Europe today happened in western Europe yesterday.

Before moving to Asia most western corporation stopped in eastern Europe. Then the level of wealth got higher and higher and they moved to Asia.

But over there the level of wealth is also getting higher and higher and now these companies look at eastern Africa. "hmmm, good ol' african slaves, long time no see !"

Anyway, western people are not getting poorer, that's a fact.

After WWII western Europe got richer by the day.

Since the beginning of the 1950's people's priorities shifted from "What I need to have a decent life" to "the stuff I need to entertain myself".

Having a smartphone isn't a right, going 3 times a year abroad in holidays isn't a right, driving a €50.000 car isn't a right, having a swimming pool in your backyard isn't a right. Those are just luxuries.

And nowadays people are so lost they actually think they need that to live otherwise they'll just change their facebook status into "Fuck My Life".

We take for granted our technology is the showcase of our intelligence when it really is just the mirror of our abysmal stupidity and selfishness.

There's no other place in the world where people have as much power as they have in the west. But we'd rather yell at some politician on TV than actually do something.

We're like a flock of sheep only interrested by the shiny green grass under our feet. None of us have the courage to just look up where the sheperd is leading us to.

We're hundreds of sheeps and there's only one sheperd with 1 or 2 dogs at best. If we decide we have had enough, we can stop this. Right here, right now.

Just like the economic crisis that hit us a few years ago. Wasn't it strange how every one was talking about it like if it was another natural disaster ?

This is a human made system, we can decide to pull the plug anytime, it won't stop the earth from spinning.

Lol well said, our vanity is incredible and we are slowly moving away from our humanity, it's not easy to see this happening as it's a slow process but it's picking up momentum with advances in technology that locks us in rather than frees us.

Maybe not poorer financially wise but it doesn't take too long of a look to see we're losing freedom, rights and intimacy. Our western consumerism is also nothing more than a bubble that will blow us away once it pops, that is when we find out that we have consumed our world around us.

There's no other place in the world where people have as much power as they have in the west. But we'd rather yell at some on TV than actually do something

Financially - probably, militarily - maybe, but asian tiger would probably disagree. As for politicians, I think it's time we stop voting for representatives in yellow suits or representatives in green suits and start voting for high degree economists

We're all in a big car.

We, the whites, are driving. Of course!

Yes, we're driving, it's not because we're not looking where we're heading or are completely wasted or watching TV or playing video games or having sex that means we're not driving.

The rest of the world is either in the trunk or in the engine.

They can't see shit, they just wish they had a place upthere, even in the backseat, even on the floor under the shoes, even hanging on the doors, wherever but not here.

And we upthere, under the sun, with our shiny sunglasses complain about the weather and our toe nails not fitting our eyebrows.

One thing is for sure we want to go faster, ever faster.

That's why the car has no brakes ! Why would you want to go slower ? It's stupid !

What we're missing is the wall slowly rising in front of us. It's already there as far as one can see on the left and on the right, except nobody is watching.

We're going to hit that wall, as simple as 1+1=2, we are going to hit that wall hard.

Even if we turn now, we won't make it. We can still more or less control who is going to get hit first...not us that's for sure! Front is covered, rear is covered and there's those guys hanging from the doors to cover the sides.

But in the end some people either in the trunk or in the engine are going to survive the crash, you know, they'll have all the other bodies to smoothen the shock.

It's going to be interesting to see what they are going to make of the pieces left.

Ah, should make it into a comics.

I know it sounds apocalyptic but it seems to me we, human beings, can't cope with the fact we do not control the "laws of life".

We've fully accepted the laws of physic as being something we cant do much about, you just comply to them and nobody never brakes them, nowhere, never, ever.

We've sat for a long time on some basics "laws of life", at least laws of life on this planet, according to everything else that is living around us.

We've stopped fitting into the whole thing.

This planet is not something at our disposal. It's a living thing. Like a monstruous giant baby, always evolving.

As we "took control" of this planet came great responsabilities and we've misinterpreted that. We suddenly thought we were gods, makings the laws.

Nature don't play by our rules, whenever we've tried that on her she kicked us in the balls.
