hcpookie 3770 Posted December 1, 2014 Well let's be clear. The muzzle effect for the cannon is not the same as a muzzle flash. The muzzle effect is a pre-loaded script that "drops" the particles from the end of the cannon. Same as any other gun's muzzle effect, just a script with a big flame. The muzzleflash is a proxy lights that lights up (animates 'on') with a 3D flame "model". You could dink around with it either way. However the 3D model mapped to a flame is much easier than scripting a drop w/ velocity and all that jazz. Drop scripts can be a PITA. I still haven't gotten the empty shell casings dropping off of a gunner turret figured out. Got close but kind of lost interest since I didn't really get it working. And YES if anyone is interested I'd love to figure how to make the shells kick off sideways from all the gunner turrets... just can't figure out the tricks. I know the BDM pack has a good shell eject script and something like that would be nice for the other things. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

hcpookie 3770 Posted December 4, 2014 Adding weathering is a challenge and separates texture weenies like myself from texture artists ;) You could add a layer in GIMP to the texture itself, so that some parts are silver-grey looking like chipped paint.
