 The eye-relief shadowing inside the tube seems like it could be some sort of gradient / alpha texture on the glass itself, rather than it be a side effect of the 3D model, but I could be totally wrong. It tends to give the ocular lens a bit of a bubble shape, as if it's kinda rounded near the edges of the glass like the objective lens. If it could even be replaced with a slight red hue, it would be more realistic, since the LED does cause that to happen some what around the edge of the glass, which you can see in the picture of mine from my previous post.

Fair enough! I think that would look badass... Pretty sure I've never seen anyone else do that either, so it would be unique and realistic. Also, just downloaded the new pack, looks like I was on here at just the right time. Downloaded fine, and only took like 3 minutes.

Thanks for the update, but could you please PLEASE not put the version number in the name on steam, it basically causes steam to create a whole new folder so now I have a SMA 2.7 AND a SMA 2.7.1 folder.

That's great to hear about the glare and reflections, that should clear things up (literally lol) quite a bit. I definitely wouldn't want it to be a 2D optic either, that just wouldn't look right with no magnification. At any rate, I'm not trying to nag or anything like that. I know you guys put painstaking detail into these things to make them realistic, so just want to provide what feedback I can to help in that department. Appreciate your guys work and all the updates, doing a killer job!

That's a SCAR-H with a KDG ACR stock and a KDG MREX rail extension. There's not exactly a pile of companies making aftermarket SCAR parts.

I'd like to see a Mk-20 in the same detail as the other SMA SCARs, however I recall hearing things about them that weren't too good (special forces guys still preferred the M-110, and I'd give a little bit of credence to this as the new CSASS contract went to the HK-417/G28 instead of the Mk 20).

 

I'd sort of consider myself a fan of the SCAR and FN in general, however it seems like in many cases people are having a hard time getting over the price tag.

When we fielded the SCAR, it was pretty universally disliked.  The SCAR's biggest "Pro", in my opinion, is that it has almost AK-107-like recoil, with the following points being given to it because it is setup very similarly to an M4.  That said, the AK-107 has no recoil in full auto, it's actually shitty to fire in semi because you ghost it constantly.  The SCAR is great in semi and full auto and has almost non-existent recoil.

 

The negatives for the SCAR are obviously things like the iron sights, cheap plastic for the stock, the stock retaining pin, the fact that the ambi fire selector isn't actually ambi, etc.  The biggest negative (in my opinion) is the fact that the charging handle reciprocates.

 

The thing that I find crazy is that between the ACR and the SCAR, you have a perfect gun.  Take the stock from the ACR, the charging handle (which is also canted, big pro), the mag release, bolt hold open, and sights/rails from the ACR.  Take the gas system, fire selector (except make it the same size on both sides), recoil management system, grip from the SCAR, and that gun would be replacing the M4 right now if they could get the cost per unit down.

 

(Also, yes, I was saying that SMA has too much recoil :) )

Great work on the new release guys. Everything looks amazing, the only thing I'd really like to see are the actual MK17 mags that are in current use. The release vid was equally as cool. I showed it to a friend and he was thought it looked really good game wise and he's not a ArmA player.

LOL! That would be awesome, but unfortunately I'm in north-west Indiana, near Chicago. Though I did just get a Glock 19 back that had some work done by ATEI down there in FL. You Florida peeps are serious about your firearms! Not a whole lot up here, but cost of living is great, and so are the gun laws!

Well it would be good to see a SMA Take on it anways, because the BWMod one has the flaw of only using 10rds mags instead of 20rds which is actually used by most if not all of the Users of that Gun.
