AhoyWorld Notepad++ Arma Syntax Highlighter

Recommended Posts

//Ahoyworld.co.uk presents: Notepad++ Arma Syntax Highlighter

What is this:

This is an Arma scripting (.SQF & .SQM) syntax highlighter to be used in Notepad++.

At the moment of writing this is the Syntax Highlighter with the most complete and up-to-date database.

It comes in 2 flavors:

- A BLACK edition especially designed for dark colored backgrounds. (DOWNLOAD)

- A WHITE edition especially designed for light colored backgrounds. (Under construction)

Installation:

  • Download the latest version and unpack the file: 'userDefineLang.xml'
  • Copy the file into: *C:\Users[user]\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++*
  • Open your .SQF scripting file.
  • It should auto-detect the correct language for your file, if not follow the step below:
  • Select 'Ahoyworld_Arma3' from the Language menu in NPP

Links:

Please note: This is a community project, and we will appreciate (and a little bit depend on,) your help to keep this updated and working. Submit all your input (or questions) on the Issue Tracker so we can implement your suggestions.

Cheers, I'm not really using a dark theme atm but I'll give this a try. Thanks for putting it together.

You are welcome :)

It is not too hard to change the colors to fit a light-background yourself.

I also created a fork in Bitbucket that will soonish contain a version for light colored backgrounds. However i have so much on my plate currently that i didn't yet got round to actually set this up. Soonisch though...

Feel free to add yourself to the watchlist on bitbucket so you stay informed of any progress and updates.

I wonder if anybody has the xml file still from this awesomeness. Lost mine and just cannot find it again. Older but definitely the best IMO in terms of syntax highlighting, I can even add the newer commands and reserved words if needed. The author's bitbucket is closed.

Sorry - I don't - my favorite is the one from Killzone Kid - I have that one and it's still available...
