Cant get Alive to work with the Faction names, not sure if anyone else has got it working.

Hi and thanks for the bug report, can you bring more informations about it ?

The Faction names work with the CQB module in Alive but does not work with the OPCOM module- says warning no usable groups found.

I never used Alive mod before so, I'm sorry, you will have to explain me in details what do you want to do here. I don't know what the OPCOM module is supposed to do (automatic AI spawn ?). You're telling me the problem could be the faction name not working but in the error message you wrote it seems to be about groups. What exactly do you try to do when the error appear ?

I will download the mod later and try to reproduce but, please, bring further informations to make the things easier for me.

Edit : I found an issue about that kind of error in the Alive Roadmap for update 0.8 release coming 20/09/2014 :

Bug #75036: CMP reports no usable groups if "zero" groups are selected

Can you confirm it only come from my addon, no problem with others ?

I released an update : V1.2

Changelog :

- Added A new PBO for AAF special force units that can be found in the editor under "men (Green Daggers)".

- Added Four ground vehicles for the Mercenaries : unarmed offroad, armed offroad, repair offroad and quad bike.

- Added One ground vehicles for ISAS : truck.

- Added values concerning IA for all units (camouflage, accuracy, cost, threat, sensitivity, detectskill).

- Added AGM 0.93 compatibility. Enginneers and explosive specialist now have defusal kits and clackers into their loadouts.

- Changed mercenary sniper's loadout. He doesn't wear balaclava anymore

- Changed ISAS offroads' texture randomization script for more desert-like patterns.

First Post and documentation (in the download) have been updated.

Hey Sparfell.

Just wanted to say "thanks" for this awesome mod. My group and I play almost exclusively as AAF, so having more hardware added to the AAF (even if it's just retextured from other factions) is a huge boost to our immersion and morale (all the better to take the fight to those damn FIA dogs!)

Keep up the awesome work. Green Daggers 4 lyfe.

Can anyone explain to me why any units that use g_balaclava_blk, I cannot see?

I'm assuming these are the tactical hoods, are they BI items or are they addons? Is it an update I have not downloaded?

Try to update your game, balaclavas are part of Arma 3 since 1.24.

Yes, actually I just validated my cache and like 300 - some "items" were missing and they're now being downloaded.

I wondered why I hadn't received any updates in a while, it stopped updating for some reason.

Crap, it appears to be re-downloading the whole thing.

Not addon related but do you know if that means my config has been deleted?

It's going to be a bitch re-doing all my graphics settings to run decently again.

Check the way Steam is updating Arma 3 in the game properties on steam interface. You can set update to auto or manual.

I haven't tried this addon though it does sound interesting. I'd just like to comment on the divers discussion on the first page of this thread. If this is irrelevant by now, please just ignore this post.

In order to play a mission as a combat diver with the added ability to fight on dry land, I usually equip the diver with the standard SDAR rifle, a few magazines with underwater ammunition and some 5.56 STANAG mags. The rifle can shoot both types of ammo. My diver has to carry a rucksack. In the rucksack there is a normal 5.56 caliber rifle and all the attachments the mission maker or the virtual arsenal permit. Having two rifles at my disposal which both use the same ammo makes my life a bit easier. Once on dry land I simply drop the SDAR and any remaining underwater ammo and switch to the standard 5.56 rifle.

like this a lot, couple of questions/comments/concerns though. Are you considering making combat divers for the AAF as well, Im sure they would appreciate having a little something better than the SDAR too:p. Also two things on the CTRG guys, could you change the squad leaders headgear to either a beanie or helmet, the multicam cover/hat doesn't really go to hot with the CTRG cammies to me, and maybe change the CTRG sniper's rifle to the original black variant instead of the camo, once again it just looks better to me on that so not a big deal on either of those.

Also, if it's not too much to ask, could you make an AAF sniper for your green daggers, and maybe give him a beanie so he looks like the AAF sniper on the hospital rooftop in the prologue campaign.

And would it be possible to use the CTRG pattern like whats on the Blufor attack boat instead of the digital pattern you currently have on the MH/AH-9's?

I noticed I made some mistakes in the new version of the addon (wrong textures for some vehicles). Those problems are already corrected but I will wait a moment before releasing the next version because I plan to rework some units and make some additions.

@Odie0351 : Thanks for your comments. If you could provide me some pictures about what could be AAF combat divers, it would be perfect. I gonna try what you proposed about CTRGs.

I didn't play the campaign so I don't know how this "rooftop sniper" looks like, please give me some details/pictures.

The AAF sniper I'm talking about is set up like your typical AAF soldier, flak vest, digi greens, and the like, except he's wearing a black beanie and using a black Lynx 50.cal.

In game one's kinda dark, couldn't get the screenshot button to work from the lighter side:p

As far as the combat divers, I just mean do what you did with the NATO and CSAT divers and give them something like their Mk 20's and such so they have something better than the SDAR as well.

About :

The optional PBO (mu_aaf_night.pbo) can be found in a folder called "optional". To use it juste copy the .pbo and the .bisign in the "addons" folder of the mod.

@Odie0351 : I did not make the assault divers for AAF because I didn't like the way they looked with F2000's (and also because I didn't want to spend so much time on it, sorry). There is no CTRG texture for the littlebirds in the game files and I don't want to spend time creating it (I think there is already a mod that add CTRG texture on most NATO vehicles).

@GeneralKong : Cause of the lack of content in the vanilla game I'm not gonna make those faction (and there is other addons that make the job). About the Ultranationalist faction : the Mercenary faction could be a good placeholder.
