Isn't there already a norwagian units mod?

---------- Post added at 23:23 ---------- Previous post was at 23:22 ----------

Or will you guys do it from scratch with your own models?

We previously had a thread that we did not have control of due to the loss of communications with the starter. Fortunately we are back and now would like to start a brand new thread dedicated to the mod. We will by no means be doing a simple generic re-skin as so many of you dislike. We already have quite a few projects in the works and will be showing the progress on this thread. If you look at some of the weapons you can see we are not simply re-skinning but working hard to bring you accurate models used by the Norwegian Forces.

Quick update, we've been very busy in real life and working on other mod projects. We are still working on this and I have a few small WIP shots to show you of the EI Marciras plate carrier with a 2012 FSK set up on it, I will also have quite a few other variations of this to make it more unique :)

Special thanks to my good friend TheMisterCat who lent me the plate carrier and made me the Thales MBITR radio pouch, very cool guy, check out his mod: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?183234-WIP-Cats-Gear-Unit-mod

Anyways here is the carrier as of now:

EI Mar ciras

- 4X DBT open top bungie C8 mag pouches in RG

- 2X DBT open top old gen pistol pouches in RG

- Thales PRC 148 MBITR pouch in UCP pattern

- DBT hydro pouch in RG

- NFM repurposed IFAK pouch

The F-35 or the fc-37 as you are useing, are not looking like the real Norwegian version. Go on google and past in this "F-35 Gardemoen" and you will see it.

Love dem Glocks

Selfmade or Robert Hammers Glocks?

They appear to be self made, as indicated by the WIP report.

So it has been a while since the last update here, we are still working on this project however other things have taken precedence sadly. Here are a few more WIP shots of the C8CQB (disregard the incorrect front sight as it has been switched) for our noraf mod:

What I will be releasing hopefully in the next few weeks here is the Alpha version for the Arma 3 Ported Lennard Diemaco Weapon pack. It will be seperate from the NORAF mod and will cover the following units with commonly seen camouflage patterns and correct trademarks:

- Norwegian

- Canadian

- UK variants as well

After those are completed and Alpha version goes well I will redo all the gun and accessory models to A3 quality :) ... so long story shot everything should be done by the end of summer this year but who knows what will come up. I would like to thank Lennard for allowing me to port these into A3 and all the others that helped on the original pack as well as the countless people who have helped with the Alpha version, everyone will get credit in the official post for the Diemaco pack :) anyways enjoy the spoilers above as well as this neat little thing that will be in the pack and in our NORAF mod:

Just wanted to give a little constructive Feedback after i saw the two differently textured M4 variants, please do not take it personal, this is mostly based on my personal experience and feedback i got a while back.

The Paint itself looks a bit to "heavy" - or rather like it was applied to thick. Some areas recived Paint that the Shooter himself, would never paint. Such as the Trigger, charging handle or the Barrel.

The scratches that were placed on the upper reciver are good, as they represent a realistic wear effect that comes over time on often touched part or in this case, parts that are in contact with clothing and equipment.

Same goes for the front RIS that only has slight remarks of paint left on them. But other smaller areas like the bolt catch and fire-selector switch are missing this wear effect.

The "cracking" effect that creates the hard dots on your camo look somewhat odd as i can not think of a real life technique other then snippets of masking tape to achive an effect like that.

So that is what i had on my mind when i looked at the Screenshots, keep up the good work. And again, please don't take it personal, i am just sprinkling little bits of feedback and advices to people.

Yeah no it was a quick skin I tossed together off of some reference pictures just to test reflections and seeing if I could make it not shine where paint was applied. You can tell as the paint was applied in photoshop and not painted on as the seams do not blend as they would if I used a painting program or the native one in photoshop. As I'm sure you guys have experience with over at SOC the struggle for these is getting them in game with RVmats applied and what not ;) Thanks for the criticism though any and all comments are welcome.

Another small update, we have been struggling recently due to loss of team members to work and military service. So while they are busy with that it will be mainly myself and one or two other team members actively working on the mod in their free time... which sucks for everyone since it takes longer.

Anyways so recently I've been given some new models which need work and some updated textures and what not to be nice looking in A3. In collaboration with the Norwegian Project Reality team I received permission to work on quite a few of their models including:

- MercedesBenz G-Wagen 461 Series 290GD also known as the M3 Multi

- Dockstavarvet Combat Boat 90N series (S90N) with amazing texture and model work by CID228

Here is a spoiler of the CB90N, pictures of the M3 Multi will follow once I finish the texturing which should be in a week or two. For high res pics see the album here: http://imgur.com/JLW6I1v,cqj9QQ1,pTi8mzy,mgqmpBM,xOvuz9h#0

Plans for the CB90N currently are to make the inside walkable like Kyo's MH47E and to make it possible to walk up to and exit the troop compartment by using the front loading ramp.

Update on the C8s.... Decided that while I will still release an A3 version of Lennards L119A1 pack in a day or two I will also be completely revamping the models and textures to reflect A3 standards as most people are doing.

Work that still needs to be done:

- Diemaco A frame

- Buttstock pad

- DIM carry handle and an ARMS rear iron sight

- Import to zbrush and fix HP (IE add pebblegrain texture and trades etc...)

- Fix the Low poly to around 10k and then do about 8-10 LODs

Criticism is welcome, be nice if someone can complement me on the front sight... I went to some extreme lengths to model it ;) , album link: http://imgur.com/CNKA4HB,xEyOj3P,KMV8Q5f,LCyqZGD,mlUbogq

Did you change all the front sights to the folding version? I hope you also kept the original "UK style" triangle ones from the pack, especially on the CQBR :)

Yes the "Diemaco A frame" front sight needs to be redone and so hopefully that will happen today. Either way this pack should include everything from the original plus new stuff.

Awesome! It's my favorite A2 weapon pack... btw, you may already be aware of this, but the CQB version actually has no bayonet lug and no "solid" SFW style gas block, looks almost like the american Colt version (Lennard missed that little detail): http://www.eliteukforces.info/gallery/view.php?r=/gallery/royal-marines-commando/43-commando.php
