RDS A2 Civilian Pack

Thank you for an update. I didn't post issues here because thought that mod is closed. Sorry for that. There is an issue with all village uniforms (just wear any + take any weapon). The sights of weapons are broken in first person view. They are misaligned: http://i.imgur.com/zzR9waH.png

I don't get it, why not join CUP project, you guys are doing the same job twice...

cup_units+cup_weapons = 1.4 Gb

RDS A2 Civ Pack = 348 Mb

 

It's big for a civilians only pack, but it's great to have some options for those who don't want to use cup.

I think it would be great if he would donate to cup to speed along the process of bring A2 assets into A3. At same time keep this mod as a standalone so if you just want the civilian assets here you can use them.

@ruPal - thanks, fixed. worker was also affected by that bug.

 

@sargken & - MLODS are available & I think CUP is already using some of my work (tanks, ports of a2 vehicles for rhs, etc). They have a little bit different view on mechanics (like damage system for example) & I don't have that much time to work on 2 different systems so current mlod providing is not that bad, don't you think?

 

@delta_actual - not my theme I think. I'm planning in undetermined future to include V3S, old a2 sedan, bike & motorbike only for now.

You may or may not already be aware of this, but the PWS Mirror of the update is broken and downloads a ~365MB file called null.null and doesn't process it into a usable state (i.e. there is no addons folder or content, its just the .syncinfo and the null.null files - thats it).. I realise this is out of your hands, but hopefully one of their minions will notice this and address it :)

Oh, yeah it makes sense.

The problem will fix itself with the next arma update.

There are no informations on the front page that this release is for dev brench / next arma version, but now i know. :)

Like the new changes,

 

also made a loudness comparison between vanilla vehicles and RDS vehicles which still seems to be an issue.

It's very clear that the RDS vehicles are way too loud. Did you by any chance process the sounds somehow?

They sound distorted and compressed way too much.

 

Testing with vanilla A3 sounds, effects volume setting at 100%, windows sound volume at 100%.

 

Test recording with waveform.

 

Order of sounds:

  1. BI Offroad
  2. BI Hatchback
  3. BI Truck
  4. RDS Ikarus
  5. RDS Golf IV 1.9 TDI
  6. RDS GAZ-24 Black

Tested it on 5.1 speakers, stereo speakers, 3 types of headphones, always giving the same results.

It's a bit of a bummer since you can easily turn up the volume using vanilla sounds or JSRS to get an authentic dynamic range,

using one of the RDS vehicles makes me reach to the volume knob every time.

Hope you take a look into this since the vehicles are pretty nice.
