Anyone else have issues with this Map and ALiVE?

Right at start-up it locks up!

Tried waiting an extra long time. Nothing. Tried adding

ALiVE in steps, and it locks up right after I add the

OPCOM and Mil Placement.

I want to start off by saying i absolutely like this map and it's really fun to play with.

However i have encountered two problems:

First, the AI seems to have A LOT of problems spotting enemies, even when they are not inside any treeline and have perfect view on the enemy 200m away (maybe even less).

Second, although i doubt it's strictly map related but rather engine related, when i'm in splendid camera my FPS drop literally from 35-40 to 10-15 for no apparent reason, even with no scripts running.

Am i the only one having these problems?

@SavageCDN

Roger that! Sorry. Posted in ALiVE Thread. Forgot. Tired...

Looks like FSF Dariyah & FSF Kalu Khan both need adding.

Do you use last version V0.3 ?

Most of the config was redone from scratch vwith 0.3 release, this includes the coordinates.

Kudos to Makhno for this. Beautiful map with a lot of potential for cool missions! I really like the hill towns in the center of the map, they look great and the narrow alleys between the buildings can make for some intense house-to-house fighting.

Also I like the idea of a map without roads, but - and this isn't a criticism - the density of trees and rocks makes it extremely difficult just to get to some towns without roads. Obviously this is the intention and there are places like this in real life, but it makes you wonder how the imaginary people living in these towns would move around, produce food or trade with each other without even narrow footpaths or narrow vehicles like motorcycles (or horses, mules and camels).

Have you thought of making a separate version with dirt roads? Or maybe just adding a partial/very limited road system that only connects some towns, or just connects the big towns outside the valley, the airfields and small industrial areas?

anyone else having issues with loading this map with AiA?

If that happens when changing maps it's a known problem.

Like switching from an A2 map, or a map that uses some A2/A1 objects will cause crashes.

If it's something else i don't know.

Np.

Anyway BI has informed the community of what's exactly the problem so i guess it's just a matter of time before it's fixed.

Hello, since a few days Dariyah wouldn' t load at all for me, game crash everytime i tried at the end of the map loading bar, so i deleted it and redownloaded it (with six), previewed in the editor...etc it worked, i closed the game and relaunched it and it wouldn' t load at all again, so i once again deleted it, downloaded it through Armaholic, loaded the map, it worked, previewed it on the editor..etc once again no problem, closed the game and relaunched it and it didn 't worked again.

Anybody else having this issue or a similar one since a few days? Maybe it is related to the latest Arma3 update? And if i' m the only one with this issue, does anybody know what might be causing this?

Tests were conducted with only AllinArma Terrain pack and Dariyah loaded, AiaTP dled via play with six so it should be the latest version, i can provide the rpt if needed.

Thanks in advance, i really like that map!

I have to say this is my favorite map in arma 3 right now, really great for armoured warfare. The views from the mountains are really striking too with max view distance.

Quick question though, would you consider making a version with sand that's less orange? I understand if the colouring was an artistic choice to bring a specific character to the terrain, which it certainly does, but a version with a brown/tan coloured sand would easily be a mainstay/go to map for middle eastern style armoured missions. I really would enjoy seeing something like that if you decided to go that route at all, currently when i run the map i make sure the time is very early or very late in the daylight period to make the colouring less apparent which works really well but the map is so good i would really really like to use it more in the full sunlight ;)

like i said though excellent map looking forward to any future developments you put out :)

Any chance of fixing the runways so AI can land and take off on them?

Great map, really enjoying it so far!

Cheers

Hi !

Can we hope for an update ? Are you still working on this map ?

Some roads or tracks between big cities could be great.

Thanks for your work anyway ;) !

Got this map!

I liked it a lot...

It has a very interisting atmosphere... Something "nostalgic" I would say.

Great work and thanks to share it!!!

:yay:
