hmmkay, do you think of something you made in other tabs?

1st Tab

Easting: 200000

Northing: 0

2st tab:

Did you put something in the advanced mode?

3rd:

Did you use create a config and internal MCE buttons? :)

it's so boring to loose time on that. :/

Nope not touched Advanced settings and not used Config / MCE buttons

same:

Easting: 200000

Northing: 0

Are your Sat & Mask all 20480x20480 ?

Yes, they are, i just checked to be sure. Sat and mask 20480x20480

Heigthfield is not, based upon a L3DT 2048*2048 .xyz resized in terrain builder.

I'm maybe dumbnumb but what do you mean by 4096 x5? -> cell size 5m, ok got it!

I'll try to resize to 4096x4096, fortunately i bought the pro version.

Thank you for your help 1PARA{God-Father}

---------- Post added at 21:42 ---------- Previous post was at 21:24 ----------

Nope, "Layers generation - default satellite file doesn't exist" error again

For the records, i resized the heightmap in L3DT to 4096x4096, exported it as terrain.xyz, In terrain builder, imported, was 40960x40960 in properties windows (?), modified size in properties to 20480x20480

Then -> mapframe, rebuild terrain, Generate Layers (cold sweat), bam error.

Edit: Changed Horizontal scale also to 5 in L3DT, this make the xyz import in terrain builder in the right size 20480x20480, but can't manage to generate layers either.

I'll try tomorow to restart from scratch (import sat, mask and terrain from 0 and see what happend)

Yeah i've edited my post last night, i figured out to change the horizontal scale of the heightmap to 5m in L3DT after first try.

Anyone else with 20480x20480 terrain working? (ingame and map screen)

I cannot reproduce your settings 1PARA{God-Father}, (thank you again for your help), as Tiles size 1024x1024 produce "default satellite file does not exist", even after restarting from scratch with a 4096x4096/5m horizontal xyz terrain from L3DT (tried it last night).

I guess i have to settle with the puzzled map screen, but i'm a perfectionnist, I cannot do that. :p

The only way I got mine to work is by changing the Tile size to 2048x2048

do you have a clean map screen with yout terrain? This is my problem, the map, the terrain itself In game is ok with:

-Grid Size: 4096x4096

-cell Size: 5m

-Terrain Size: 20480

-Size (px): 20480x20480

-Resolution (m/px): 1

Tiles size (px): 2048x2048

Overlap: 16

Layer size: 20x20

I'll try some setups and I'll post here to keep track on what is not working:

Project settings:

Grid Size: 4096 x 4096

Cell Size: 5m

Rasters Size: 20480 x 20480

2) 1024x1024 tiles, 64 overlap, 40x40 tex layer: terrain builder doesn't let me go with anything else than 2048x2048 tiles!

Don't ask me why but I decided to try this again with one little difference:

I chopped up the rasters to 4 tiles, each being 10240x10240. I've imported these into TB using the regular method of drag and drop, giving them the right coordinates so they would line up.

I then generated layers with these settings:

1024x1024 at 64 pixels - texture cell size 40 meters and it worked :o I flew across the terrain for a few minutes just now and I don't see anything jumping around so it appears to be fine.

I have uploaded the source files, unzip them to P:\blb\test_map (so that the Data and Source folder are like P:\blb\test_map\data and P:\blb\test_map\source). In the Source folder, you'll find the tiles and heightfield under Terrain.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/oc1nrqkhejgw0pz/test_map.zip?dl=0

In case anyone feels the need to point it out, I know the BLB-tag is taken already, I've registered another one but been too lazy to change it in my current stuff as it's far away from being released :)

I used your files, tried your settings.................. no good.

Still had to use 2048x2048 to get layers to generate.

In the interests of Science!, here's two configurations that worked for me (and might be helpful to other poor souls playing the sampler minigame):

Sampler configuration 1:

Grid: 1024 x 1024

Cell: 4 m

Terrain Size 4096 m x 4096 m

Mask source: 4096

Resolution: 1 px/m

Mask Tiles: 1024 x 1024

Overlap 16

Texture Layer: 32 x 32

Sampler configuration 2:

Grid: 2048 x 2048

Cell: 4 m

Terrain Size 8192 m x 8192 m

Mask source: 8192

Resolution: 1 px/m

Mask Tiles: 2048 x 2048

Overlap 16

Texture Layer: 64 x 64

So - yes, configuration 2 is twice configuration 1 for all parameters except cell, resolution and overlap. The obvious prediction would be that for a 16,384 x 16,384 map you'd double all those configuration 2 parameters again. Someone should really test that. :)

Hey guys !

I'm trying out TB since a few days, and I have this .... errrrrh ... overlaping issue. I can't get how to fix it.

So my source files are :

- satmap : 20480x20480

- mask : 2048x2048

- XYZ : 2048x2048

Mapframe properties :

Terrain sampler :

- Grid size : 2048x2048

- Cell size : 4.663

- Terrain size : 9550m

Sat/Surface

Size : 20480x20480

Resolution : 0.466309

Sat/Surface tiles :

Size : 2048x2048

Desired overlap : 16

Texture layer size's : 37.30x37.30

I tried to enter major desync's numbers but it didn't fix the issue plus my island was 500meters wider than the real one.

Any clue for a beginner ?

Many other tries, here I am and still not working...

- satmap : 20480x20480

- mask : 20480x20480

- XYZ : 2048x2048

Mapframe properties :

Terrain sampler :

- Grid size : 2048x2048

- Cell size : 4.000

- Terrain size : 8192.000

Sat/Surface

Size : 20480x20480

Resolution : 0.4000

Sat/Surface tiles :

Size : 2048x2048

Desired overlap : 16

Texture layer size's : 32x32

Tried with 2048x2048 mask, changed layer's size, with a 5.0 cell size, with other overlaping values or tiles size, nothing worked. Does anyone has an idea ?

No idea if it helps, but here are my actual project settings: >> click <<

I tried several times but now i have no problems with my ingame texture. I set resize for export from original 16384 to 20480 in the export settings with split 10*10 and 20480 px in BMP format. Later i put it together with ImageMagick. The result in ArmA3 is really nice... ;)

According to this Reddit post, the issue has been fixed.

I think the following Development Branch Changelog entry may be the one related to the fix:

ENGINE

Fixed: Satellite segment size computation for maps with non-zero satellite map alignment

Thanks for posting, I probably would've missed it otherwise. But you're right about that Changelog entry, that's definitely related :D

LOVELY!
