M1A1 MBT A2 Port

BRIEF

Glad to finally release my first mod / port to the community. This would be of coarse the M1A1 MBT. This is a Arma 2 port with a little extra work. Newest update has the M1A2 included.

Now if any of you find problems with this mod please PM me or Steam = Raid

Fixed M1A1 Driver LOD not complete. (Bottom of the turret)

Good stuff!

Just a few little things to let you know about, as I've just downloaded it and am in the process of giving it a try.

- The gunners coax has no ammo.

- The commanders .50 cal has a strangely low rate of fire.

In turns of bugs I've found at least, those would be your big ones.

Other then that, pretty solid so far. A couple less then major thing I've noticed though, there seems to be something odd going on with the tracks? the road wheels an drive wheels react properly to moving, but the track texture seems to be doing it's own thing.

Also the engine sound doesn't seem to be right. Props for grabbing an Abrams sound, although it doesn't seem to be syncing well with the tank. The startup sound plays, however the idling sound starts at the same time as the start sound, and both play together. Also when accelerating, you hear nothing at first, and as you pick up speed it starts to be heard again.

Good stuff though, I believe I saw you mention in the WIP thread this was your first go at this, so from my inexperienced point of view, it's pretty good.

Edit - Drivers "compass" at the top doesn't work to, Gunners and Commanders do though.

Hmm I might have an idea on the No ammo. As for the fire rate it's set at 850 Rounds/Min.

I'm not sure on the tracks subject.

The tracks thing could just be something to do with how they did the A2 model, and the way it's interacting with A3.

Speaking of tracks to, "de-tracking" it seems to have no effect, even though it lists the tracks as red. Also, Hits to the hull seem to knock out the gun.

As for the M2's RoF, I'm fairly certain theres a setting wrong there, it took me about 25 seconds to empty the box, which is 100 rounds. Also, it reloads instantly.

I apologize if it seems like I'm nitpicking, just trying to help.

Edit - Disregard the de-tracking thing, works if you hit it with an HE shell.

It's completely fine, there is only so much one person can test.

Note: I did send it out to testers and they did find problems that I fixed but without a larger crowd can't find them all.

Im getting the same as Unit757, tracks are not quite looking sexy yet as they move and hitting the hull damages the gun. Im ok with the M2 firing that slow however. Realistically it does fire a bit faster. When I get the chance I'll look into your work and try to help you out.

Hey Raid, great to see the M1A1 finally released, as it´s been said, stress testing it with an open release will help find bugs easier... BTW, I´ve noticed that the FV-720 Mora (the AAF dumbed down Warrior AFV) has a crosshair similar to the M1A1 -> http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=259688758

You could check Mora´s config to see how to use the proper crosshair... on further and later improvements, you may consult Reyhard how to implement FCS in your tank and make it ubber ;)

[EDIT] ooops, disregard my suggestion of implementing FCS, your tank already have an automatic FCS, silly me ;D

I meant included in the ADF mod since it is a lot easier to convince people to get one big mod then lots of little ones.
