The Eridanus Insurrection - An Arma 3 Total Modication

Recommended Posts

Posted it on reddit. Might as well post it here. This is flyover test using the RC version currently being worked on. A simple scripted event that could be used in a campaign or co-op mission, for troops on the ground.

Yeah, with ASDG compatibility you'd be able to attach some cool scopes and accessories for the weapons. Like an ACOG on the Battlerifle

ASDG compatibility is easy to add, as a test I added it to the M-45 shotgun without any ill effects.

Man, the frigate flyby is bowel movement inducing sight. Imagine this: frigate descends through the atmosphere from orbit with reentry effects and flies over you, great setpiece scene.

Don't forget firing the MAC Gun, and launching some ODSTs :)

I discovered something with the pelican that could be an issue for sling loading in first person that has not been reported yet. (I think)

The Pelican's Sling camera is placed in a location in which you cannot see the ground.

They should be like this.

Somthing like this would be incredibly useful for a aircraft capable of slinging cargo like a pelican.

This has been resolved. How do you bring up the fullscreen cam btw?

Just A little concept. If you guys were to make your own version I can see this looking pretty damn good on the back of a pelican and could possibly have some neat features.

I found a pretty interesting piece of concept art of Halo: Reach. It shows soldiers with parachutes jumping out the back of a pelican. Not sure if this specific concept art has been brought up yet, but it could be an alternate method of attacking for Marines and Army soldiers rather than the HEV which the ODSTs use, or some other type of special forces.

Lol that's not Halo Reach concept art, that's Halo 2 concept art.

However I agree with your point and have been preaching it for a while on here, the UNSC Army Airborne used parachutes instead of HEVs and it would be neat to see them implemented in a similar fashion. I'm not sure how well ArmA would handle a Warthog with a parachute, though.

as a real world paratrooper i must say to this, YES! that would be so cool to have, the warthog would however not really fit in the cargo bay and wouldnt be able to be pulled out like out of a c130. however, instead, a simple drop with a parachute might work too. if somebody can dig up the reference where it stated that unsc army airborne had air assault helmets i'll see about making a helmet soon.

On the HMG-38, maybe it uses caseless ammo? My reasoning is:

1. It would allow it to have a more reasonable magazine capacity for a machine gun.

2. Nothing says it doesn't use caseless ammo, and the M7 SMG uses caseless ammo anyway. So there is precedent.

In case the devs did not see this, this can also be a good point of reference.

A simple drop would work I think, that would be pretty badass actually.

See under equipment:

Airborne personnel are equipped with Ushuaia Armory's Air Assault helmet, which was developed as an improvement on the helmet worn by the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers; Pathfinders prefer the FC-I variant of the helmet.

Derp.

It says that they used Parafoils. Could they be the same Parafoil that was an armor modification that was available in Halo Reach?

welp nvm the AA helmet was developed after first contact. 2535.

Doesint mean you guys cant use your artistic licenses to make your own version of the air assault helmets.

So you guys know, there is a great way for you guys to see the insides of a halo 1/ Reach Pelican By playing 343 Guilty Spark on halo: CE if you need to get a good view of the inside of a pelican. You guys may have the pelican insides done and know about this already. but if not. It is easy.

Edit: But it needs to be Halo:CE Anniversary. Regular CE has the none see through windows like all the other halo games

Yep, the one in 2535 was meant to be used and adapt with some of the Spartan Systems in mind. Doesn't mean they didn't have a earlier version that was based off the ODST helmet systems themselves
