well things seem quiet here, no? small and short update. thanks to some of our/your efforts in spreading the word we now have 2 or 3 texture artists on board the project. the ODST have been sent to one of them for texturing so hopefully they are ready to go soon. the army guys are being finished in regards to modelling and they are next in the door for texturing. things are looking great and im certain we can have an alpha release soon to come. of course the team is open for more members.

not much to show for in this update except the unsc soldier model is being worked on. just added knee pads and will add shin guards next which would complete the model for texturing.

you actually just rang a bell. this model is a unsc army unit while the unsc marines are a seperate entity. as time goes we will make the marines as well ;) and our references are the halo 3 marines so yeah just stay tuned

I am deeply interested and would like to assist with my concept design skill and footage production.

Just one question: will this mod turn out into run-and-gun shooting rage, like this video suggested?

Looks good but ill always like the Halo 3 marines more.

thats the UNSC army in these screens, there will be H3 styled marines if i recall correctly. thedog,im sending a PM to you

It obviously won't .

The video is showing a master chief model with a god mode , nothing to do with it .

And also ODST troops are aren't super soldiers . ( don't know if spartan are going in this mod )

I mean the aspect of combat, the reason is war being different after 500 years, and that mod is obviously expected to keep the same style of tactics from A2 and A3.

It also can be fun and challenging to play that way, but, to put both Halo canon and military realism together is tough.

look at halo live actions compared to games, only the spartans are OP enough to run and gun, and this is before the armor for them was made. ODSTs come a little close, but thats because they got a nasty habit of going feet first into hell, which is fun, unless a slipspace rupture happens

Watch Halo Landfall or FUD. Its essentially the same just bigger and more advanced. Navy goes from sea to air. Marines go from international to intergalactic. Army goes from national to planetary. Its really quite similar.

no way this will be a run and gun. the mod is using live actions as reference for gameplay which in the live actions things are way more realistic in terms of damage and what not. so you can basically expect to play arma 3 with halo units. thats about it. to me a realistic version of halo sounds more intriguing than another run and gun version with super soldiers. this is why we are focusing on the regular soldiers and not spartans, spartans may see the mod WAY WAY WAY down the road, but dont expect it.

but yeah, finished up the model for the UNSC Army soldier Heavy variant. basically added armor. the legs seem a bit fat but i plan on scaling that down a bit AFTER i get it back from our texture artist. the same goes for the odst. reason being, this way i can make armored and unarmored variants easier.

welp while the army units and odst are out for texturing and the pelican is out for animation i figured i'd tackle the hogs interior. finished up on the center console. dashboard is next. sneak peak? yes

thanks but thats a different kind of hog believe it or not... bungie likes to change their models a lot... im going with the halo reach style hog which we compiled some pretty good references. not being ungrateful, still thank you, just letting ya know :)

Looking great guys. Helped out with the texturing of the Warthog a while back but unfortunately lost the files. Love where everything is going though, looks great. I'm willing to help texture the ODST and Marine units so if you need any help feel free to add me on steam; TYPHOONTIGER2 or PM me!

I'm excited to see it all come together as well. On a smaller note, my P drive dumped on me so I can't get alot done until a hotfix. Decided to switch to smaller objects that can be used in the maps.

I just have to say that this mod looks sweet!

How you guys focus on the small details of the books and the games, and not just randomly add stuff without checking wiki's and everything - it's just great!
