Yeah I'm still on vacation should be home by tomorrow but he offered the weapons and then I asked if he could finish the models as most of us have are hands tied. But yeah he's been basically drafted.

so been messing with textures again and spent a few hours on these so i hope you like them. i think they give the bridge more depth. anyways, here are some images of the textured screens. they are high res 2048x2048 they just look shitty on my screen because of my potato laptop. hope you enjoy

sidenote, these are inspired by the images bungie released of their screen textures. trying to keep them as original as possible without stealing their work.

We actually just started working on an ODST type mission, but using vanilla A3 assets presents... Challenges.

I'll be monitoring this project closely!

howard isnt that more of "dropping ass first into hell" xD, so, how off scale is the Paris class anyways, considering pelican size was pretty normal by looks

to the best of my knowledge its 1 to 1 scale but it seems that somebody messed up along the lines. i have seen the bottom portion of the ship in slim and fat versions allowing for another, huge, bay in the bottom back. i believe in one of the halo games you jump into it with the warthog. if my model is in fact 1 to 1, then it would not support that bay in the back. idk. its big, but you saw the tight fit the pelicans had.

by my guess, from gameplay of the space level in reach id say the model we have is 1/4th too small

well thats the thing man, to me, it looks a bit small as well, especially around the hangars however according to documentation i foudn around the web the measurements are 1 to 1... i think the numbers i found must be off a bit or by a lot...

on another note...

update on that, thanks to itsthomas for helping out with the vest, its in game and working. gotta work on some of the clipping etc. also this flight suit guy is just a placeholder^^

i should add, the model above of the odst is merely a proof of concept for myself. what i wanted to achieve with it i did, so either the model will be polished and brought up to speed or completely revamped. heres what i had in mind

helmet obviously acts as a helmet as does the backpack. the torso armor will be classed as a vest while the leg and arm armor will be part of the overall the soldier is wearing. this makes things a bit more user friendly in the arma engine and it allows for us to pump out a multitude of variants of the vests. so say you want an odst with a big as emile style knife on it, then you can simply slap that vest on. or you want a generic vest with little extras, slap that on and so on and so forth. same goes for the leg and arm armor. will see about doing different color patterns for squad identification. nothing crazy and flashy, more like a stripe or something running across the arm plate.

but yeah, again, just a proof of concept ;)

so im playing around... i took the vest underneath the armor out just to see what looks better. im not sure though. i feel like without the vest underneath i would have more flexibility to get the armor tighter to the body, but without a vest underneath it barely makes sense.... how in the hell does armor attach if not by vest? o.0 anyways, just playing around a bit. i really need a better model for suit underneath x.x

Like everyone else, this is something I am dearly looking forward to. I also ponder on what plans you have with regards to the OSDT abilities. What sets them apart from the normal units. I myself would love to see OSDT units have a huge advantage over the vanilla infantry with the armour really playing a key role. All the while still being vulnerable to higher caliber weapons to keep you on your toes. Just spitballing, again best of look with the project.

this is something i've thought about and the only advantage odst's will have is a slight difference in armor values. the thing is, arma is a combat simulator and halo is a arcade shooter. however in halo's live actions things are way different from the game, and i believe for the better. forward until dawn for example when the chick gets shot in the stomach, basically 1 hit and she was out vs every halo game where the troops around you can take several hits and still be fine. i like the realistic version of the halo universe far more as im a realism freak. with that in mind, i personally would like the mod to go that direction. also halo ODST was significantly harder than all other halo's due to the fact that you werent some super soldier, you were just an ODST. so yeah, i think the realism route would make it more enjoyable overall.

WHAT I DO NOT WANT TO RECREATE IS THE GAMEPLAY FROM HALO! THAT ALSO MEANS THAT THERE WILL BE NO BUNNY HOPPING, MOUNTAIN DEW, OR DORITOS...

from research i can tell you some things

MA5 series is 7.62

M6 (pistol) IS A FUCKIGN 50. CAL PISTOL (seriously look it up)

Battle Rifle is 9.5x40mm

DMR is 7.62

Sniper rifle is 14x114mm

Shotgun is 8 gauge magnum

SMG is 5x23 mm

and the rocket launcher is 102mm
