Disabled a couple of mods, it worked afterwards.

But I needed to restart the whole mission.... so that might have done it too... Who knows :)

Hi Pete

I've got a question concerning the first mission. I'm running into a problem every time I tried to play the campaign. I've installed everything and then I launched the campaign but I'm really stuck at the first mission. I have really no idea what to do.

Briefing is blank. Now you are given the "choice" to join the MERCS or get shot. If I join them then there's the guy who is walking to the pick up and I'm following and get in the car with him, meanwhile all others are getting killed. Once I climbed in the pick up we always hit a bomb or something. Even If I jump out of the car I and try to make my way out on foot I'm always getting blown to smithereens. Is there something I missed? That's the fourth time I'm trying but it's always the same. I must be doing something wrong which I'm not aware of, any help would be really appreciated.

No  . . . no Mods  running. ArmA 3 Vanilla. When playing missions I'm always checking the read me for required addons. If there are none listed I'm playing vanilla. I understand that I need to follow the guy in the car but we always get blown up after one minute or so. I tried it on foot . . . same story. Really weird I tried it at least 4 times now always with the same result and after a while I just quit. I really have no idea what is causing this since I seem to be the only one who has this problem.

It did happen for some people, usually with a modded game. I was never able to reproduce the issue though. The exploding is supposed to happen if the player runs too far away. But it shouldn't happen when enetering the car. As I said, I never got that issue. Anyway, you can try again which probably won't work for whatever reason or you can start the mission and then execute

[] call IP_fnc_cheatEndMission;

from the debug console (Esc > Big Window > Local Exec). It will take you from the intro to the next mission as intended.

Alright thanks for the tip. I see that there's no way around that for me, the end mission cheat will have to be applied in this case. Well it's more or less 60 seconds after i entered the car that we get blown up. If I leave the car it's only me that gets blown up. In any case I'm always screwed no matter how I put it.

Hi, I encounter a major glitch today which I believe has to do with a recent update.

I downloaded this mod last night, and was progressing to my fourth mission Riot Control. I saved my game and went to bed.

 

But when I came back today (without changing any thing), I couldn't interact with the laptop at the base anymore! (which means I can't pick up missions)

I have tried every options, including turning off all mods, restarted whole campaign, deleted mod and reinstall without a solution.

I don't know why that would happen. Reverting the mission usually helps with savegame issues.

So after somemore testing, it looks like the cause was the latest update in DEV branch, The game was back to normal once I revert back to stable version, not sure what they did in DEV yesterday though.

Few issues I've encountered ( !!! OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAS YET TO PLAY THIS !!! ):
I don't remember the names of the missions, but I hope the general description is enough to identify it. I haven't gotten far into the campaign, so there might be more missions like these later on.

I play with JSRS, but that shouldn't have any impact on mission related stuff.

 

At base:

Storing a weapon with a suppressor (At least in regards to the MK18)  in your box will delete the suppressor. It will not be in the box, and not on the weapon.

Escort the VIP from the Airfield mission:
1. While picking up the VIP you can loot the IFV parked outside the airfield. I'm guessing this is not intentional.

On the way out of the green-zone I drove a bit too fast and ended up barely bumping into the AAF checkpoint.

The guy that was supposed to check on us walked THROUGH the blockade and stopped in front of the car - he continued to stay here indefinitely (or at least for a few minutes).

Loading after this would lock up all keyboard controls. Reverting the mission to the start solved the issue.

2. When delivering the VIP to the airfield I (again) drove a bit too fast and rammed straight through the AAF checkpoint. No one seemed to mind so I just carried on.

When I got back to the airfield and parked in front of it, people started screaming about missing guards and traps so I hoofed it away from the airfield.

After realizing no one was following me I returned to the airfield and parked again. Mission complete.

 

AAF checkpoint duty mission (Checkpoint Charlie?):

1. Just started the mission. Helicopter pilot touches down for 1/8th of a second before flying back up and remaining in hover.

If I eject (obviously when the helicopter is about to land), it will still fly back up with my buddy. It will hover for a bit and then land to drop him off.
2. Once it got dark and the soldiers started attacking I just had to let my buddy take care of them while I took cover in the grass (I think) as best as I could.

It was PITCH BLACK. Only way to see the enemy was to look for muzzle flashes, but more often than not buddy would take care of them before they opened fire.

I know this is because it's simply dark during the night, but it doesn't make for good gameplay. Having the moon up will at least make it so that you can see something on the ground.

After returning to base everything was pitch black as well, but I did manage to make my way out of the base by following the lights of fellow MERCS and then heading away from them - then using the TacPad to fas forward time until it became bright again.

Looking back at this I guess a workaround for it is to never start a new mission without waiting until 7am or so the next day (although that was not easy to predict before going in).

 

I have played a few more mission past these and other than these issues mentioned above everything seems fine.

Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee I'll ever make a return on this one to fix these issues you and others mentioned. I just don't have the time to if I want to produce new content. Regardless of that, I hope you still get a somewhat pleasant experience out of it, but expect more issues to arise.

First of all amazing campaign! Even though I had to google that encryption coordinate. (I have no clue what an index or mod10 is)

 

 

I've got an error triggering at the start of the Uncle Kostas mission.

 
With no other mods running, and file integrity verified,

The error 

"Picture
\a3\missions_f_epb\video\b_hub01_few_hours_later.ogv
not found"

comes up at the start of the mission.

I would assume that the error is somehow related to the APEX update, nevertheless the mission isn't progressing and is instead stuck on a neverending black screen.

Yes, this is an error due to BIS moving these smal videos. Can't do anything without a proper update. Just skip it with the debug console:

Excuse me admin sir...

 

So I have been playing MERCS for quite some time now, especially looting the rogues of stratis... It is very excellent campaign btw, I can even say a lot better than the BI's Eastwind :D :D :D

 

The problem is this rumor of "The Badass farmer and his badass water pistol", long story short I managed to find the wreckage of an osprey (on the game it is called blackfish or something), so I dive around with my expensive diving set yet I dont find any "silver briefcase" or any dead bodies/ skeleton, and I dont find any other wreck on the north or west of the Stratis Airbase...

 

Can you please give me a tiniest clue of what might be happened? Is it buggy or glitchy something? thanks...

Oh that is nice, I actually don't want the money because I already rich at the moment (selling weapons and vests of dead rogues seems to be very profitable), I just want the feeling of actually finding something epic and is uncertain that is most other people don't believe at it or simply don't care about it... so well I feel I did now thanks for you to confirm it :D :D :D

 

Haha alright, the starter clothes + boonie hat might work well :D

Hey guys, just got the mod today but I'm having some trouble with getting it started. When I start the campaign, I get an error saying the alert.sqf script can't be found? I've checked and the folder structure is correct. I still manage to get in game and find myself on a beach? I get given two dialogue options but nothing happens once I've chosen, all the NPC's just stand around. Any insight into what's going on?

Try the addon version from steam workshop for example. Or enable file patching in your game.

No, it's a launch paramter. If you're using the BI laucnher it should be somewhere in the settings.
