I'll probably be finished with the Mi-8 and Mi-24 later tonight, I have to use different honeycomb sizes/patterns for different parts to match them up, then there is the color match process which is slightly different for each vehicle it seems.

Yesssss. You sir, are a prince among men. Having all those vehicles put in CSAT colors is long overdue.

Also, I completely forgot to mention in my first post: TheEvanCat, I love your mod. It's made CSAT feel like a much more believable and plausible enemy. Keep up the amazing work.

I forgot to mention the reason for posting those here, must have been too nervous- heh heh. I got the inspiration from this mod :D I agree that CSAT seriously needs some work and not just be the game's punching bag.

The Azad II OTV was developed in response to the lacking capabilities of Iranian body armor in the late 2010s. Covering a wide range of the torso, the Azad is fitted with advanced armor systems to diminish weight and increase protection: locally made advanced armor underneath high-tech ballistic polymer not dissimilar to kevlar. Notable features include an internal temperature control system of microtubes filled with heated or cooled water depending on the user's preference. Radio antenna plates - inspired by the American TVAS - are placed outside the armor plating as a concealed and less cumbersome option to plug into radio devices. The vest is wired and provides spots for the battery systems and computer devices needed for each individual soldier's battlefield network (seen in the Penah's eyepiece.) Multiple variants are available offering flexible arrangements of pouches and accessories, as well as increased ballistic protection. The one seen here is the basic variant often worn by officers and noncombat support personnel, offering only ballistic protection and little storage space.

And here's a WIP light version. I need to work on the textures a bit more. There's going to be a heavier version with more stuffs for your legs like a belt and thigh panels, and then a more armored version hopefully with arm guards and a crotch panel.

I finished up the Azad a bit more today and there are two variants to come with it. One is lighter, the other has a camelback and some more pouches. Haven't started on the armored one yet.

Just have an issue with one texture's pathing and the shadow LOD. Also needs a fire geo LOD. But it's ready to roll.

I rarely use the default CSAT anymore -is are there maybe too many flags on the overall kit? Between both shoulders, the vest, and both sides of the helmet it almost seems a bit over-represented.

I have no idea why there are so many flags.

Part of me wants to make fun of the super cool tactical dudes who wear American flags plastered everywhere (in BF4 I see the characters wearing five US flag patches on their person) by having an OPFOR army do the same.

The "realistic" explanation is probably that the CSAT armies are kind of vain and showy, like: "Look at us, we can kick ass but we're not NATO! Look at your new overlords! Look at it!!!" It also explains the bigger roundels on aircraft.

It's not that they want to be seen while hiding in the bush, they want to be seen while walking down the street and proving that they're a new power on the block by being in your face about it.

The third reason is that I needed to cover up the US flags already on the uniforms and platecarriers when I was using retextures. It kind of stuck with me into the new Azad model.

Maybe. I've always kept the black aesthetic with the flak jacket but that could change. Of course, that'd mean four different variants (maybe five if I ever get around to winter camo, six if we want a Navy hexpat) multiplied by the three variants existing. So I'd have to texture and config twelve to eighteen new vests. And that's not counting the proposed armored variant. It can be done, but maybe.

Fair enough. Ever wondered about doing a low-vis version of the flag? Sort of like how the NATO infantry have the US flag in more muted tones? Though, I suppose it would defeat the purpose of them showing off, so I dunno.

Either way, I'm still gonna use the crap out of these guys because they're preferable to the bug-men in spacesuits who inexplicably don't wear kevlar vests on a regular basis.

Also are you planning on adding any smalls arms for CSAT later on in development? I found a Iranian weapons that would I think would fit in very well but it seems I can't post any links till tomorrow :p

Yeah, I made a derp on that. I have another vehicle named the Shar and I probably got it mixed up.

I have a fictional Russian semiautomatic shotgun coming that I may or may not have posted screenshots of. It's far from unfinished, however.

There's also plans for a new rocket launcher because I can't replace the RPG's skin with a black one. But for now I'm trying to fix a texture issue on the flak jacket and work on fixing the shadow LOD and sticking a fire geo LOD in.

I also have to get around to UI icons. So really there's some stuff to do before 1.4 gets released. One hell of an overhaul.

Do you have anything on what the rifle in the first two is?

Yup, the first one is the Fateh 5.56mm assault rifle, the second is the Arash 20mm anti-material rifle, and the last one is the Shaher 14.5mm anti-material rifle.

Nice update TheEvancat, I was anxious to pilot your take on Dezkit´s MiG29K - now the Shahan - it flies pretty good, still have the Afterburning "holding" turning radius bug - I think you should consult John&Saul to properly config the AFM characteristics of the PshysX plane code - , but without afterburner it turns quite agile, that´s nice! And liked your touch on cockpit MFD screen, but if you could make it a PIP screen as chairborne did with the AV8B harrier port, it would be ubber =D

I have found 2 issues, thou maybe you´re lready aware of them: a-) it has the pilon bug when folding the wings and b-) can´t spawn it with MCC nor VVS, I can only play with it on the Editor... I bet is a classname issue, but as it is a WIP maybe you´ve left it without the proper name to be compactible with both mods/scripts...

Great work nonetheless! Keep it up!

Hello!

When launching the game with only this mod while using the full replacement config (pbo`s), the game crashes on launch. Without the optional config, the game launches without issues and all the units work.

Is it only me or is anyone else getting this issue?
