eggbeast 3685 Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) introducing EB_Armour... working recently with the unsung team and hcpookie i overhauled the weapons and ammo for the following vehicles: T34/76 T34/85 OT34 T54 T55A TO55 PT76 ZSU-23-4 Shilka ZSU-57-2 Sparka Zu23-2 BTR40's (SPG, Dshkm, PK, etc) static pk, dskm, spg9 etc M48 Patton M551 Sheridan M113 ACAVs Mortars static M1919A4, M2 and M60 etc This involved sorting out the weapons, mags and ammo configs for all vehicles, and we based them on research into real kit, so for example, you have HEAT, HE Frag, APT, WP and illumination rounds, and some exotic stuff too like APHE and APS and napalm/flamethrowers so I got to thinking - what about the other stuff in Arma? so as we're playing brit vehicles at the moment I made a weapon and ammo pack for Chieftain Challenger Challenger 2 Scorpion Scimitar Warrior Warrior 2 All types of APC/ wmik next up is same deal for: T72, T90, M1A1/2, BMP3, BTR90, BVP1 etc so watch this space - the idea being that people making mods can use the pack like mykes missilebox for airplanes, only for armour. this way we can keep a damage balance and naming system coherent across the whole game/ mod base, if people choose to use it of course. the gist of this - is that - each tank has unique ammo to its date of manufacture (next years m1a3 clearly has latest stuff + lahat missile) and export/domestic variants - speeds tweaked to be more realistic (abrams had max road speed offroad) - AA mg on commander turrets have proper ammo for AA role - later variants of M2 have vehicle and people destroyers like APIT and SLAPT and HEIAP ammo - later variants of GPMG weapons have dim, bright tracer, armor piercing etc. - flamethrower, frag, canister, smoke and lumes has special effects - AAA has special effects (developed for unsung - will release this after uns 2.6 is out) - SACLOS type missiles have a laser homing option so you can target bunkers - lots of new sounds (from sgt. savage) - mag sizes as correct as i can get them - muzzle velocities and armor piercing / splash of frag/HE/flechettes as correct as I can get them Edited May 27, 2014 by eggbeast Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

eggbeast 3685 Posted May 9, 2014 ok canister works really well using the shotgun settings, so its now quite different from how we had designed it before (basically as a frag shell) because it only has the 9 pellets, ive made each pellet explosive, and using the timetolive made the range limited, kept our frag effects and it all looks pucker. just need to edit the sounds now so it makes a nice boom, then a hissss, schiiiickkk kinda sound (lol) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

eggbeast 3685 Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) quick update of WIP bridgelaying tank function: if you have an AVLB nearby you can make a bridge http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t247/eggbeast/bridgelayer2_zpsacb99ef5.jpg (114 kB) if you have 2 of them you can make 2 bridges - here repairing a wide gap in the concrete duala bridge damaged by enemy aircraft http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t247/eggbeast/bridge3_zpsda1b3829.jpg (116 kB) with the ARRV nearby you can move the bridges about and right a turtling tank (on roof) here are actions close up this is all script-side but i'd like to add it to troubles AVLB with his blessing in due course (all seems positive so far). moving the bridge by very small degrees is key to making them seamless, so i borrowed inspiration from victorfarbers ladder script, which we've used for years on the evo missions for making ladders, foxholes and static MG's on rooftops etc. we might be able to make a proper bridge model for the chieftain (Dom is looking at this) but the railway one will do for now - it does what it's supposed to do! eggbeast 3685 Posted May 27, 2014 yeah it was totally your idea/fault man! i must say, that long intake of breath before cresting the hill on duala/kwako to roll down to the beach and build a bridgehead across the river mouth is pretty full on. you just know you're gonna be eating sand for several hours and screaming like a girl until that bridge is made and the first tank makes it across... eggbeast 3685 Posted May 30, 2014 I can 99% guarantee it will break ACE, or ACE will break it. I don't make mods for ACE users, sorry dude, it's way too complicated, especially as i never use ACE and have no familiarity with it. Basically my mods are just a bit of fun that will do some things that ACE probably does, and some things that it probably doesn't. People who play my evolution missions will be the most likely users of this when it's done. I'm planning to release some of our updated desert Evolution missions with this and my EB_Air and EB_missilebox and EB_weapons integrated in parameters of the missions, and also the new british vehicles patch once i'm done collecting permissions from the original modders.
